After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
Kashii was mildly annoyed when his words weren't heeded, and the boy continued to struggle. Thinking he wouldn't do much, Kashii hadn't stopped Zain from grabbing his wrist. However, the moment he felt heat, the jounin kicked away from the redhead in time to see the hand alight with flames. Katon, eh? With scaly looking tough skin... almost like a dragon. Interesting! But, now wasn't the time to be inquisitive. Zain had disobeyed a direct order... well, it was more of a suggestion than an order, but the meaning should have been clear.
“If yer not gonna calm down, I'll do it for you.”
After molding the chakra, raiton energy crackled into his right palm, and he flung the bolt like a whip that struck the child. It was a weak attack, hardly as strong as it could have been, but it wold have been a large enough shock for him to pull wire from his jacket and strengthen it to bind the boy so that he couldn't lash out again. It would come off when he calmed down. Once Zain was tied, Kashii sat cross-legged on the ground and waited, Cat returning to his side. "And it finds me. The fight inside is coursing through my veins. And it's raging. The fight inside is breaking me again." ~RED - Fight Inside~
The genin scrambled to his feet once the weight was lifted, only to be brought to his knees by the lightning as he turned to face his enemy. He was stunned just long enough for the other male to entrap him in his wires. Zain snarled in protest, but was otherwise helpless.
The boy squirmed and writhed against his bindings, making quite an uproar. His eyes remained on the man who had taken his attention, locked in a permanent glare. From his hissing and growling it would be easy to tell he did not like being bound.
Though eventually everything must end, and gradually the struggling slowed. Zain's eyes would begin to flutter lazily as his voice grew more and more hoarse. Soon enough after, his face dropped into the dirt and his breathing became even. The boy had passed out.
Unimpressed, Kashii watched as the boy struggled like a wild animal against his bounds, yelling and roaring and tearing himself up against the razor wire. At first, Kashii had thought he was simply misbehaving, but Kashii could tell Zain currently had no sense of self. It was an interesting condition that the bluenette would need to learn about if he was to continue teaching the kid. If he hair-triggered into the raging, that would be inconvenient at best. It wouldn't be impossible, but...
When Zain finally passed out, Kashii rocked forward onto his feet, going over to the redhead to poke him and check for response. Nada. Kashii chose to let him rest and worked on untying the wires.
“You alright, Cat?”
She wheezed.
“I think he bruised my ribs, but nothing's broken. My tail will be numb a while, though.”
“Good, saves me the vet bills. What do you think about this guy?”
The cat regarded the boy on the ground.
“Keep this one. You don't have any other students; you can dedicate your time to him.”
Kashii hummed, coiling the wire back onto the spool.
“Point taken.”
Once Zain was untied, Kashii rolled him over, checking out the clawmarks Cat had left. Surprisingly, he was not as shredded as he should have been. The texture was strange under Kashii's fingers. Soap and water when he got home would be fine. Once he was done checking Zain over, he fisted his hands into the kid's shirt and drug him up to his feet by the front of it. Keeping him in place with his right hand, he slapped Zain upside the head.

"And it finds me. The fight inside is coursing through my veins. And it's raging. The fight inside is breaking me again." ~RED - Fight Inside~
A dull ache spread out from the point of impact where Kashii's palm struck him. Zain woke with a start, stumbling back. He would have fell if it weren't for the man keeping him held upright by his shirt. Disoriented, the boy rubbed his cheek, blinking a few times.
It took him a second to notice the figure in front of him. The genin froze, slowly turning his gaze downward to look the other, intimidating, male in the eyes. He glanced toward the talking cat that hovered in his peripheral vision. The color drained from his face as recollections of it harassing him flashed unseen in his head.
He tried to remember what had occurred after that, but everything just turned to black. That was the part he was afraid of. He frowned, but his eyes softened in relief at the fact that she seemed to be okay. His gaze returned to the man who was holding him, realizing he hadn't said anything yet.
When it seemed the taller male was steady, Kashii released his shirt and stepped back.
“I see you're back to your senses. You nearly killed my partner,” he commented without explaining. “Next time, we'll be sure not to underestimate you. Cat?”
The feline walked to her master's side, sitting.
“Raw, but strong. You can be cultured, Zain, but you need to learn control. If you can't control that state, then at least learn to keep it contained. If not within, then to an area not near allies. You seemed to have lost sight of yourself back there.”
A blue head nodded.
“My name is Namame Kashii, Zainy-boy, and I'll be your instructor. My partner is Cat, and you will consider her as your instructor as well.”

Zain winced when the guy with blue hair mentioned he had almost killed the cat. That sounded a bit more like what he was used to when he woke up. His expression wavered between solemnness and relief. He was glad he hadn't gotten to finish her.
The boy frowned when it was mentioned that he needed to learn control. He had been trying, but nothing seemed to work for him. "It's not like I wanted to..." He muttered under his breath. His hand subconsciously grabbed his arm where the gashes from fighting the cat were.
When the man introduced himself as his instructor the genin gave him a curious look. "Two senseis?" He wasn't too sure about this new guy yet, but at least Cat would still be teaching him too. He preferred the animal, even in spite of her attacking him.

Oh. That kinda made sense. Kinda. Zain was still confused, but as long as the guy was supposed to be his instructor, it wouldn't hurt to listen. So far he couldn't really do much with his flames. He'd been afraid to practice on his own ever since he'd run away.
The boy grabbed the worn kunai from his hip. "I can do this." He answered starting to wrap the blade in chakra. It took a fair bit of his concentration, but before long the knife became enveloped in flames. Then he looked back to the man.
"That's all..."

"I can do this."
Kashii eyed the kunai that was used. It didn't have the luster of a new weapon; it was old. It had gashes in it, the tip was chipped, and the edges blunt. When it became engulfed in flames, Kashii thought about the applications of that attack. The katon wouldn't aid the blunt weapon in cutting, but because a blunt blade cuts slower, that meant more connection time for the flames to sear the target. He highly doubted Zain was advanced enough to throw it in a wave, and Kashii didn't manipulate katon to teach him more. He'd just need to help provide fuel to help the boy grow on his own for now.
"That's all..."
That was it, eh? Well, judging by what little Kashii knew about Zain here, he should have expected as much. Pulling a senbon from his jacket, Kashii thrust it out and into the ring of the kunai's handle, tearing the flaming weapon out of the genin's grip so that it dangled from the throwing needle. The fire was extinguished as soon as it left Zain's hand. If it remained lit then it could be thrown, and that would be useful.
Not expecting the genin to know much more offensively, Kashii decided to backtrack to academy lessons. He'd been informed that the kid hadn't attended academy but had agreed to check him out anyway. Those needed to be set in stone before he could do anything more. Passing the kunai back, the jounin put the senbon back in his jacket.
“Do you know the five basic ninjutsu of the academy, Red? Even if you don't know how to use em, knowing what they are still gets you a point.”

"And it finds me. The fight inside is coursing through my veins. And it's raging. The fight inside is breaking me again." ~RED - Fight Inside~
When his kunai was forcefully removed from his possession Zain grabbed for it again. His hand wrapped around the blade, allowing the jounin to easily slip it out from his grip once more. While the knife wasn't taken care of as well as it could have been, it would still cut properly. If it weren't for his weird skin Zain would have gotten a nice slash down the middle of his hand.
The second time got the point across and he simply watched as it was inspected. The kunai had a sentimental value to the boy. While it's origins weren't the most pleasant, it served as a reminder of his parents. It had also been useful in hunting. When it was returned, Zain hastily put it back away.
The question he had been presented with was a difficult one for him, since what he'd learned from his father was so long ago. There were ones he remembered, and once he didn't, primarily because of which ones were useful in the wild.
"Um... There's the clone, and transforming... And... The rope one..." The boy raised a hand to his forehead, thinking. "Um..." He was trying, but couldn't remember the others. It would be pretty obvious that if he had known them, he had forgotten. Still, the genin would continue until he was told to stop.
"Um... There's the clone, and transforming... And... The rope one... Um..."
Kashii waited a moment, but when it was clear Zain wasn't coming up with more answers, he held up a hand to stop him from hurting himself or something.
“Clone technique, transformation technique, and rope escape technique, yes,” he said, holding up fingers with each one. “There's also cloak of invisibility technique and body replacement technique. All five of these are fundamentals to becoming a successful shinobi, and you need to have these five techniques mastered before we move on. Do you know how to use any of them? If so, show me.”

The other two sounded a little familiar to him, but he wasn't quite sure he remembered them. Zain nodded, getting started in his demonstration. He progressed in the same order he had stated them in, beginning with the clone jutsu.
The genin brought his hands together, forming the seal. He concentrated, soon causing an illusory doppelganger to appear beside him. He shakily held the jutsu for a while before dispelling it and moving on to the next technique.
This one was a little more difficult for him. First he had to think of someone who he could imitate. His options were limited. There weren't many people he remembered well enough to form a decent illusion. In the end he decided to try to copy Yuu, the purple haired medic he'd met recently.
The boy formed the seal with his hands after preparing the mental image, and was enveloped in a puff of smoke. While the copied image was certainly not perfect, it was passable. After a few seconds of holding the technique, it wavered and the effect broke.
Zain returned to his original state, only he was sweating. The exhaustion from berserking was taking it's toll. "And... I can... Do the rope one... but... I don't have... a rope..." He panted, looking to the blue haired man for guidance on how to proceed.
Kashii nodded in approval as the genin complied, making an illusory clone of himself. It was well-done and appeared quite solid. The henge that Zain chose to use amused him, though; while crude Kashii recognized the person as that little medic that flitted about his snarky little student once upon a time. Not bad.
"And... I can... Do the rope one... but... I don't have... a rope..."
Kashii put a hand on Zain's upper arm. It was more than obvious the boy was entirely worn out. He suspected it had something to do with the fit of rage he was in earlier. Walking Zain over to one of the many training posts, he hed him rest against it.
“Two out of three says I'll take your word for it on the rope escape skill. I can teach you cloak of invisibility, but tree walking will come another day. For now, take a break. Cat, can you grab my bag for me? I left it by the tree.”
“Yes, master.”
Rising to her paws, the feline trotted off towards the tree. Kashii had been in a hurry to intervene and hadn't grabbed it, but things were fine now. He stayed by Zain to make sure the boy was okay, and when she returned, Kashii withdrew a bottle of water and handed it to the redhead after giving her a rub between her ears.
“Is there anything in specific you'd like me to talk to you about, Red?”

"And it finds me. The fight inside is coursing through my veins. And it's raging. The fight inside is breaking me again." ~RED - Fight Inside~
Zain followed his sensei to the post and sat with his back against the wood. He nodded as Kashii spoke, wanting to continue despite being tired. If you wanted to get anywhere you have to push your limits. This was something he had learned early on.
The time it took Cat to fetch the bag allowed Zain to properly catch his breath. The boy inspected the bottle of water as it was given to him. It was the container that sparked his curiosity. He was used to only finding water in streams.
After experimenting with the bottle for a little bit; things like tipping it upside down, shaking and dropping it, before he finally twisted open the cap. He sniffed the opening, making sure the liquid inside was actually water before greedily downing it.
The last of the water in the bottle being gulped down was signified by a satisfied exhalation from the genin. "What do you mean?" He asked in response to the question directed at him. Was he supposed to have something to be talked to about?
