After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
Of course Lien had containers. She would jave been a compleye idiot to leave serching for herbs and such without bringing any with her. Serching in her things she took out 3 small jars out putting them close to the herbs Yuu worked with. "I have another one and a few viles. But would prefer to keep them empty for future use if you don't mind." she said turning back to the boy.
Soon after the medic nin has left, the camp was already clean with just the fire still burning. The Kumoro girl was planing to get up into gey bed and sleep but a far away snapping sound was heard. Another trap has worked amd this time, it was a distant one. Last night she had no priblem leaving it as it was knowing the prey will stay in place. This time was diferent. The weather was good and predators will go out hunting. It would ne sad to loose her food in such a way.
With an unhappy face the teen made her way to the trap. A very large rodent was in. A kind of a eat that lives close to water banks. With all the vegetation around, it wasn't surprising it was slightly larger that a normal cat. Getting the dead animal out of the trap she cleaned it and returned to camp. Yuu was already back. Without saying anything she hang the meat above the fire and put lots of fresh leaves into to flames. Smoke came out of them in large amounts.
"Tomorrow we will have this smoked rat for lunch. It is up to you whenever you'll eat or not, as far as it cinserns me, its food and also tastes good." she spoke and waitef to the cooking to be done. Smoked food usually tasted better when cold, it will save them some time. She also liked rat meat so it was a win-win situation, at least in her eyes.
When the cooking was done she came to the tree where her bed was and used made hand seals. As she was done she made a small jump and released a strong stream of air from her mouth taking herself all the way up to bed. With that, she went to sleep.

Yuu looked up from his work at the rock, having been working on grinding the remaining herbs into the jar he'd been working on before. By the time he saw Lien, he'd begun handling the oleander, quite delicately. It was an impossibly toxic plant, and required a very small amount to make the medicine. Taking an empty jar, Yuu made a poultice of mostly honey and burdock, with some water mixed in. Once he was satisfied, he pulled the oleander closer. Rather than grind it up and risk contaminating his mortar with the toxins (the medics usually used a separate mortar for toxic plants. Even though they were cleaned after each plant, it was just safer that way), he extracted the moisture, the natural chemicals within being mixed with the poultice he made.
Afterwards, Yuu removed all of the flowers from the plant, locating a smooth rock and cleaning it to grind the petals and place it into the poultice. Mixing it all together, he sealed the jar. To ensure this one was seperate, Yuu withdrew a paper slip and a pen from the pockets on his vest, labeling the jar as “oleander.” And then as a side thought, he withdrew the other full jars and did the same. Even though he could tell the poultices apart by composition, Lien may not know the difference and the medicines were for her.
As Lien approached, Yuu noticed a large, unusual animal in her grip. Was that... a rat? That had to of been the largest rat Yuu had ever seen.
"Tomorrow we will have this smoked rat for lunch. It is up to you whenever you'll eat it or not, as far as it concerns me, it's food and it tastes good.”
Yuu eyed the large rodent skeptically. Rabbits were one thing, but rats were a bit... well, so far she hadn't done the medic wrong with her cooking the last few days. He'd take her word for it.
“I'm fine with eating it.”
Yuu finished his work long before the rat finished smoking, and he sat near the fire, enjoying the warmth in the cool evening before it was time for bed. He and the girl didn't talk too much, which perhaps was just as well, because at times Yuu would say the stupidest of things. When it was time to sleep, Yuu climbed his tree easily, hanging his belongings from the branches and nestling into the blanket. As the tree he had to sleep in was a separate one from hers, he was free to remove the constricting vest, and although sleeping suspended above the ground in a blanket-hammock was a bit unsettling, he eventually fell into a comfortable sleep.
Morning came. The loft warm sun rays that ce through the leaves of the tree woke the sleeping girl up. She had a nice sleep and dreamed about running around a flower field chasing butterflies with her little sister and the other children of the clan. She could hear the waterfall and the animals. The forest was waking up slowly.
Moving out of her hanging bed, she untied the rope. That was holding the blanket in place. After packing her things up she jumped down. Most people would climb down carfully but ahe was skilled in anything that had to do with gymnastics and agility, she knew where she jump and how to make a soft landing. Stratchung her arms and legs she decided to have a morning exercises before checking up on her companion. This morning was a good and warm one. They'll need to go for some time but she had a clear destination in her mind. Crimaon Daisies were ahead of her having cinfidence in both her skills and luck, she believed she'll be able to find it.

The air was still when Yuu awoke. Blinking a few times, he sat up, startled when his bed rocked. Right, it was a hammock in the tree. Through the foliage he couldn't tell if Lien was awake or not, but the last three days of her getting up first made him inclined to believe that she was; it wasn't even as if Yuu slept in late or anything. Stretching, Yuu pulled on the vest, fastening it and pulling on the sweatshirt he'd used as a blanket the night before, zipping it. He could put his flak on once they were ready to set out.
Climbing out of the makeshift hammock, Yuu untied it, rolling the blanket and putting it in the bag he had suspended from a branch, collecting the other belongings as well. Sleeping in trees was always a fun experience, and knowing how to tie a hammock out of your blanket would make it that much easier. He recalled a time when, as genin, they had to sleep in trees and it required being strapped to the thick branches so they didn't fall out. He was learning a lot from this traveler.
Climbing down the tree, Yuu found Lien doing stretches, still with the hood up. It ate at his curiosity to know why she never took it down. Greeting the girl with a good morning, Yuu deemed her trustworthy enough to leave his belonings at the base of the tree, taking an empty jar from his bag. He wandered off into the woods to take care of morning business, but to also see if he could find more berries they could eat for breakfast before setting off.
When Yuu came down he greeted the young nomad with a good morning. "Good morning to you too. Hope you slept well." she replied in her turn. Seeing as the boy was looking at her with curiosity, the girl started feeling uncomfortable. Her hood was obvious, sooner or later the question about it would come and she'll have to give an answer. Her father's origins can give a nice answer but she also knew that the fact she was wearing dark shades of any kind might not be good enough.
Seeing as the boy left his belongings with her when leaving into the forest, the girl understood he might have grown to trust her more in the passed three days they have spent together. She went back to her morning work out and soon finished it. right after it she went into the forest with Tiarra to look for eggs. They found a couple of nests of small birds and got 3 tiny eggs foreach of Lien and Yuu. By the time they were back, you was already in their camp site..
"I found eggs. Is there anything interesting you found?" she asked the violet haired boy while sitting down to start a fire and cook the eggs in the pumpkin-pot from the night before. She also put some water to warm up in the bamboo cups while sending Tiarra to bring some mint leaves from the pond and go hunt some food (even if she enjoyed her mosquitoes the whole night).

Yuu had located a bush of elderberries while he was out in the woods. Looking for another burdock plant (they were so common it wouldn't be hard), he plucked one of the larger leaves from the bottom and laid it on the ground, stripping the berries from the bush. It took about ten minutes, but when Yuu was satisfied with the amount of berries he'd placed on the leaf, he folded the edges, carrying it back to the camp.
Lien was absent when Yuu returned, so he placed the berries near the fire pit from yesterday's dinner, sweeping the camp site to ensure everything had been picked up as well as he could in the morning light. Sensing another figure approaching, Yuu turned to see Lien arriving.
"I found eggs. Is there anything interesting you found?"
He moved to meet up with her.
“Ooh, eggs! Yeah, I found a lot of berries, and there's still burdock root left from yesterday we can eat.”
Berries were always a great thing. They were tasty and usefull in many ways. The fact they had more if the root was also a good thing. Yet, Lien preferred to keep it for lunch.
"That's great! I already know what to do with the berries!" she said happily, "About the root, better keep it for lunch. Our dinner was a heavy one, you wouldn't want to get a stomach ach during the day." shw added. Standing up from her place she came to you and put her hands in the shape of a bowl in fromt if the boy, letting him know she wants to take the berries. She also made aure not ro come in contact with him while he drops the berries in her palms.
Going back to the fire she dropped a few berries to each bamboo cup, then as Tiarra returned, added mint leaves to the hot water. As it started to boil, a soft and sweet aroma came up. Their enery juice was ready. The eggs were ready soon after. The rest of the berries wwre kept as they are.
"Let leave those as they are. A nice light snack on the qay can be a good thing." she said. Taking the eggs out if the boiling water she poured cold water on them to cool them down and make the peeling easier. Giving Yuu his share she sat down to enjoy her own meal.
After it was ready, she took both cups and washed them. Instead of putting them in her bag, she sat by the fire and took out a kunai. Placing a small stick in the ring she put the tip of the. Weapon in the dying fire waiting for it to get hot. When sutiafied, she used ir to drill small holes in the top if the bamboo cups. Putting the kunai aside to cool down, she took out if her bag what looked like the net bag Tiarra made on their first day, alien cut two 1 foot long threads from it and tied them to the cups. Mini buckets were made.
Finally, before getting up, the girl filled bith no-longer-cups with the berries left. One 'bucket' she tied to her belt, the other gave to Yuu.
"There you go." with this she picked up her things, returned the kunai and the destroyed net to hed bag an took a step to the forest. Looking back at her companion "Shell we?" she asked. The medic could clearly see the shine of the spiders eyes looking at him from under the girsl cloak.
"That's great! I already know what to do with the berries!" Oh? "About the root, better keep it for lunch. Our dinner was a heavy one, you wouldn't want to get a stomach ache during the day."
“Makes sense.”
Yuu carefully put the berries in her hands when she cupped them. Yuu put a hand on his hip, standing and watching what she did with them in curiosity. He needed to keep track of the things she did and try to remember it for future purposes. When the smell of berries filled the air he realized that she was making drinks. He would never have thought of that. Coming over to her, he sat down.
"Let's leave those as they are. A nice light snack on the way can be a good thing."
“Okay.”
Yuu accepted the drink and peeled his egg. It really was a light breakfast, but they had a lot of things for lunch as well, so Yuu wasn't worried about it. When they finished eating, Yuu accepted the cup-bucket-thing she made out of the bamboo, examining it before standing and attaching it to his belt. When she called for him to go, he looked to see many shining eyes from inside her cloak and shivered. It was unnerving when the bees decided they all wanted to land on him; he couldn't imagine a huge tarantula up close and personal.
“Let's go, then. I'll miss being here though, it's rather beautiful.”
Hearing that the boy likes the place made the nomad smile. When it would be the end of the trip she could probably mark all the spost they have been to on his map. Unless he did not have one, which would be a surprise.
"If you have a map, I'll mark the spot for you, as well as the place where we built a shelter." she offered and looked around herself, then up to the sky. They were going into the lower areas of the Earth Country, and if the weather will stay the same, there will be some fog later and it'll get cold. Thanksfully, the Ares they were going to visit also has many caves and it'll be easy to find a place to wait for conditions to get better as well as make a small camp.
Deciding on a curent destination the girl started walking keeping her eight legged friend in her hood and sending a glance to the Iwa nin. Sure, he seem to trust her more, didn't ask many questions and was a great help yet, he still wasn't someone she'd let her guard down near to.
As they were walking the river got wider and wider, the flow got faster and passing to the other side would be more than just difficult. It also meamt they were going in the right direction. As the two kept in their way they got to what looked like a mountain side clear of all vegetation other that a stray, sickly looking Bush here or ther. At this part the river was rolling down and making a lot if noise. The water was shallow but deadly. A singly wrong step and the man is done for.
"whatever you do, stay away from the water. This curent can easily kill even the most skilled travlers." she mentioned to the boy. Keeping a safe distance, she kept forward down the mountain. At the forth hour of their travel they reached the middle of the mountain. At this point the river fell into a very large and dark pool. From the pool came out 8 small rivers and the girl choose to follor the closest one of them, leading ahead and forther down. At the very botTom, fog was lying over the New forest as a heavy blanket.
"Look for small caves around for the rest. Those tend to have a small pool of water in them and a fair amount of drift wood that came with the river. We'll rest, eat, and wait for the fog to lift."
"If you have a map, I'll mark the spot for you, as well as the place where we built a shelter."
Um. Right, a map. That would be a nice thing to start carrying.
“I don't... maybe you can draw a picture for me and I can mark on a map when I return to my village.”
Ahem. Maps, who needed those? Landmarks and stellar navigation was all that he needed. Oh who was he kidding, Yuu could use a map. Dropping the subject from his mind, Yuu followed Lien as they began traveling once more. The river was getting rougher as they went; that mean rapids were coming up and there would likely either be a waterfall or a slope further down.
"Whatever you do, stay away from the water. This current can easily kill even the most skilled travelers."
“You don't have to tell me twice,” he commented, eyes trained on the churning water.
Yuu had been correct in guessing the slope as the ground steepened in grade while they descended. There was a valley ahead and when they reached it, he watched the water fall into the pool; he'd been right on both the slope and a falls. He'd never seen water split so many different ways from a single source, but if he stayed any longer, he'd be left behind, and Yuu trotted to keep up with Lien.
"Look for small caves around for the rest. Those tend to have a small pool of water in them and a fair amount of drift wood that came with the river. We'll rest, eat, and wait for the fog to lift."
“Easy enough.”
Yuu split from her into the fog, removing his glasses as the suspended droplets of water clung to the lenses. From what she said, following one of the streams should be enough to locate one, and after a few minutes, he did. There was driftwood as she said, and the cave seemed large enough. Satisfied with the find, he cupped a hand to his mouth and called for her.
The two companions separated to search for a cave that would fit their needs. after what felt like only two minutes, Lien heard the boy call out for her. “Lien! Found one here!” Great, time to eat. She could also do the map for him as they wait, if there would be enough light in the cave. Good thing she always had a pencils and an empty notebook with her. Following the sound she soon saw the boy in the fog. close to him there was a small opening. When taking a peak inside she saw a room sized cave. In the far end there was a small hole filled with water, right over it, water was dripping from the ceiling very slowly. there must be a small crack in there meaning the water will be at least somehow fresh as it wasn't left still. Other than this part of the cave, the place was dry, cold but dry. A lot of drift wood was scattered around of the mountain outside the cave.
"This place will do more that just fine. Good finding!" she spoke to the boy complimenting him and then starting to colect drift wood that was dry and trowing it inside the cave.
"This place will do more that just fine. Good finding!"
Yuu felt a little tingle of happiness at the praise. Doing good to make others happy was always the best part of his job. He watched her collect driftwood for a moment, then followed suit. She was probably going to make a fire, which would mean dry wood was needed. What else would she use the wood for? Lien didn't strike the medic as the artsy whittling type. Then again, what did he know?
As Yuu tossed the wood on her pile, he recalled that she had rat meat packed away from them to eat. Yuu had never eaten a rat, and could probably go his entire life without eating one, but he wasn't against trying new things. Who knows, maybe it would taste delicious. When it seemed the pile was big enough, he asked her,
After the two gathered a decent amount of wood the ginger heard the violet haired guy's voice. “Think we got enough?” he asked. "I believe so." came the answer from the females mouth. entering the cave she started arranging the wood in a pile before setting it on fire. Soon after the rat meat from the day before came out. She has split it in half and offered one of the two parts to the shinobi she was traveling with. Then she took out the root they had from the night before and put it in the fire. She kept it in for about 15 seconds before taking it out splitting this one as well and giving half to the boy.
after the food meal was over the fog was not as heavy anymore, yet Lien decided to wait some more. During the wait, Tiarra got hungry and nagging about it. Having nothing to feed her with and not wishing to ask Yuu to sacrifice a couple of bees she offered the creature her hand. If feeding on her master, the spider can grow big, way to big, but for that she needs to put extra effort and actually want to do so. Right not, she was just hungry so Lien wasn't worried. The venom was also not dangerous and the girl was bitten by her friend so many times, she was immune to it already.
Accepting the offered 'meal' Tiarra bite the back of Liens hand and had her 'noms'.
~~~~ You can insert conversation or anything at every point of whatever happened above.
Yuu helped the traveler arrange the dry wood into a pile, weeding out some that seemed a little too wet to be useful, then stood back as she lit the fire. She was better at it than he was; the medic always needed to try a few times to get a blaze going. When the large rat from the day before was revealed, Yuu accepted it. He turned the meat over, inspecting it warily, but ultimately decided to eat it. It smelled odd, but it tasted alright. Not bad, really. The burdock root was a nice compliment and the meal wasn't overall bad at all.
“Rat tastes better than I thought it would. That's useful to know.”
Rats are rather common and probably not hard to catch, so it's good to know they can be eaten and don't taste bad. As the meal finished, Yuu watched skeptically as the girl held her hand out for the spider to bite. Suddenly he felt a little uncomfortable around her.
Note: I am on my phone. ~~~~~ Seeing as the boy's face looked like he sat on a pile if thorns and wasn't sure if getting up will make if better or worse, Lien smirked under her now lifted scarf. Between members of the clan, letting the familiars feed on the owner was normal, to other people, if was crazy.
After the question soon came to answer. "I'm feeding her. With her size, she needs a lot of food every day so she has to hunt a lot. As you could see, this area has very little greenery. It's difficult for her to find any pray. If ahe won't eat properly, ahe won't be able to help later on if she will be needed." the girl explained. Thinking for a moment, the reason to why Tiarra was eating Lien's hand, wasn't there. So she continued her explanation. "With time we learned that even if Tiarra dislikes the taste, ahe can be fed human flesh, and that's what I'm doing not. The wound will be tiny, it won't hurt for a long time. Her venom is week so it isn't dangerous and I'm used to it so there will be no aide effects to it." after a moment, the hairy being finished her 'meal', crawled back to Lien's head and went to sleep. "And I felt uncomfortable to ask of you to sacrifice a few bees. If she'll find them tasty, it'll be an issue...."
