After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
Yuu stared a little dumbly at his companion. Everything he knew about spider bites was setting off alarm bells as he watched the large tarantula feed off her master. Between the option of sacrificing a couple bees—not something he enjoyed but there were literally millions of them in the hive—and watching this, he'd rather lose a few bees.
“I can give her some bees. I've seen enough spider bite victims that I'd rather sacrifice some than watch her feed on you.”
He hoped he didn't sound rude, and nibbled on his meal quietly. A pulse of the right kind of chakra into them would kill them painlessly and instantly, so it wouldn't be entirely horrible.
Hearing the boys opinion, the girl shoke her head. He was generous with his offer but it would cause trouble if Tiarra was allowed to try the bees. "I can't allow her to have even one of your bees. You see, Tiarra is special and has special taste. If she gets to try them, she'll might start demanding to be only fed with them all the time. She might start doing wierd things inorder to force you to summon them." she explained.
Feeling generally comfortable with the guy, Lien has let her gaurd down and kept talking. "You see, it already happened before, when she caught one if my little sister's kika~" realizing what she was about to say she immediately civered her mouth with both hands. Eyes wide open. Just when did she started trusting him?
"I shouldn't have said it... I so should have not said it...." she mumbled to herself.
Yuu felt a little awkward about having offered when it was declined. He nibbled on his meal more, not entirely sure what to say. Still he listened, suspicion rising a bit when she bit off her speech.
“Kika?”
He tried adding up what she told him about the spider and the word she cut off, and came up to a conclusion that felt a little bitter on his tongue.
She definitely should have not said it. Definitely shouldn't have... And it was already too late. There was no going back now but perhaps it means he will come up with a few answears to questions he surely got.
"My dad and little sister are. I didn't inherit the 'skill' lets call it. Dad tried, but my body rejected the kikaichu."
The Kamizuru's odd-eyed gaze narrowed at the girl. Is that why she kept her hood up all the time? He knew the insects liked to wrap themselves in cloth cocoons like little larvae. Not using the kikaichu did not make her any less an Aburame than one who did, if they shared the same father. Biting a little too hard, Yuu crunched one of the rat's bones between his teeth.
“Bleh...” Fishing the splintered bone out, he tossed it in the fire. “You still carry the blood of one.”
Finishing his meal in silence, the medic tossed the remaining bones of the rat into the fire, gathering his things and walking out of the cave, unsure of what to make out of the newfound knowledge.
“Let's keep moving,” he said, a little colder than intended.
Lien smiled. That reaction was so unsurprising. She already knew the boy's oppinion about the Aburame. She had her smile on as she was remembering their conversation from the first evening of their journey. He had nothing to tell about the events that brought the end to the was between Iwa and Kusa. He was now being forced to think if what he learned of her, what he knows and believes and potentialy admit being wrong.
After a part of her secret was discovered, she should feel uncomfortable, bothered even. Yet, she feels at ease and enjoying the situation. Her smile slowly became a big grin under her scarf.
Standing up ahe followed the boy outside. "Don't forget of Kusa, Kamizuru-kun." she said in a teasing wishpear as she passed by him and took the lead to the forest.
"Tell me how he acts." the girl comanded to her pet almost silently making sure the male won't be able to hear her.

Yuu froze in his tracks at the sound of her voice, brow furrowing. The hell was that supposed to mean? Was she from Kusa? That battle happened long before he was even born.
“I had nothing to do with that battle,” he retorted, following her. But, even as he said that, realization of what she meant dawned on him. A cold pit formed in his stomach. He'd already been with this girl a handful of days; he couldn't just up and leave her and go his own way. She hadn't done anything bad to him; even knowing the way he felt about Aburame she continued to treat him kindly.
“'m sorry,” he muttered loud enough for her to hear. “How long until we reach the next destination?”
With her grin growing even bigger, Lien kept walking. The reaction of the boy, acorsing to what she heard from behing her and what her pet told her were expected but very interesting non the less. The poor boy acted like he was forced to chew, swalon and then spit out his ego. The ginger was sure enjoying the situation even if there was nothing to show it other that her smile well hidden under her scarf.
"It'll take about two hours. " she answered as if nothing happened at all. She kept going down the hill. After about 40 minutes they reached the first tree line. The shade was now a savior from the sun which had no negative effect earlier due to the fog. Now thst it has lifted, the heat rose quickly.
Yuu didn't speak after the question was answered. He felt both bitter and awkward toward her and had no idea what he should do. He was fairly positive she wouldn't kill him; not yet, anyway. She needed him to make the medicine. But afterward, once the medicine was made and they needed to start the journey back to civilization? Who knew. He'd be prepared for that to happen, though he became increasingly wary of the tarantula. If it would feed off of its master, he didn't doubt it would bite him without hesitation. Needless to say, the Kamizuru was on edge being together with the Aburame.
Reaching the shade had been a relief to the medic; likely to the girl too. The sun was hot and threatened to bake them. How long had it been? Not quite an hour. That meant maybe another hour and a half of travel to reach the final destination, where the silver lily would be located. Yuu wasn't exactly sure what the silver lily looked like; it was probably obvious and he would be dumb to ask, but thus far she had been helping him gather, he figured she would for the last plant as well.
After a short walk with the river inside of the forest Lien stopped and looked around her thinking of the best way to travel and the best direction to choose. She knew the Silver Lilies were growing in the area ahead of them and she also knew that they Only grow in cool places where the movement of both wind and water are minimal. Caves seem to be an appropriate place. Yet at the same time, they also need a lot of day light to grow... This search will be hard.
Listening carefully she decided to head north. That direction will also bring them closer to where the crimson daisies grow, if they'll be lucky enough to find them. She started walking again having her eyes open for any well lit caves, no matter how small they might be. At some point they came to a very large cave entrance between the trees. "Wait for me here, I want to take a look inside." she said and lowered herself in. Her luck was definitely in her favor during this trip. The Cave was wide and long, going for a great distance underground. It looked like there were some crystals on the walls that were reflecting the light that came from out side. The girl was surprised to see how well lit the place was, there were many small openings in the ceiling allowing light to come in from many directions. There was also a small pool inside with water plants growing in and around it in small amounts, water lilies included. there were even different colorful fish, most of which were Koi. She climbed out of the hole throw which she got in. "If you liked the pond from the night, you'll love what you'll see down here! we just found ourselves the perfect place for a rest." she declared. "But first, let's put some traps around, we'll want to have meat for tonight." with this she waved at him as if telling him to follow her.
~~~~ If Yuu follows: Going around the area, Lien showed the boy ways to see if there are any small animals living around. She showed him how to recognize (small) animal trails and places are are most likely to be used at home. The rule was simple, if there is a small hole and there are poop close to it, it's probably being used as a room, rodents don't like having their 'home's dirty. ~~~
After the traps were set Lien made her way back to the cave collecting small branches, big piles of leaving and edible herbs, fruits and vegetables. Inside she has put all the food in one pile, make a pile of branches that will later be used to start the fire and gathered the leaves and other small branches into a big bed like pile, the same way she did two nights before that. It was only early after noon but the girl took her place on the improvised bed. "Tiarra, wake me up when it's getting dark." she told the spider and drifted off into a pleasant nap.
Yuu followed some paces behind the traveler, doing as he'd done the last few days and taking her lead, keeping an eye on the surroundings and trying to find what they were looking for. From inside his vest, the medic withdrew the notebook she'd given him to hold the first day, examining the plants drawn inside with one eye on the path ahead. When she stopped moving, Yuu closed the notebook, slipping it back inside his vest.
"Wait for me here, I want to take a look inside."
Yuu nodded, shifting his weight to one hip while he waited for her, glancing around at the area. It took a few minutes before he heard the scuffling that marked her return from the hole.
"If you liked the pond from the night, you'll love what you'll see down here! we just found ourselves the perfect place for a rest."
Yuu's interest piqued. Was something interesting in there?
"But first, let's put some traps around, we'll want to have meat for tonight."
Damnit. He wanted to explore the hole. But food was kinda important, yeah. Fine. The medic tried to ignore the information he'd learned of the girl and listened intently as she taught him how to track active holes for hunting vs back doors. Once the traps were set, he helped gather some vegetation to eat, removing his bow so it was easier to get inside the hole.
It truly was beautiful inside, Yuu stared in wonder at all the sparkles, reflections, and fish. Rather than eating, the girl made a bed and lied in it to sleep. He would openly admit now that he wanted to know what was under her hood.. Waiting until he was absolutely sure Lien was asleep, the Kamizuru meandered over to the girl on soft steps. Crouching slightly, he reached for her hood to take it off, but stopped short of the material, fingers curling away before the tarantula could even retaliate. Straightening up, the medic put his hands on his hips and sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose,
“Whatever,” he muttered, going to a different area of the cave to try and get a nap in himself.
By the time Tiarra woke her master up, the underground space they were at was lit by all shades of red, orange and purple. The colors of the sunset were reflecting inside and gave the cave the look and feeling of a place that came from a fairy-tale. Looking around She saw that Yuu was asleep at the far end of the cave. Heh, the boy was sure getting emotional and worn out by the incident this morning. She decided to let him rest a bit more.
Taking a small stick, she wrote in the ground by her things 'Went to see if we got anything in the traps.' and went out. Looking around and collecting the traps, the sad truth came to be - there was nothing in the traps. All of them where empty. With a bad taste in her mouth she went back and found the Iwa medic awake. "We got nothing, I'll go try fishing. Please try setting the fire." Leaving her fire kit to Yuu she went to the pond.
Digging around she found few worms and other things to use as bait. Soon after the bait, 3 fishing lines were made using Tiarra's web. The pond was shallow so there was no need to make roads. Putting the bait on small hooks she had with herself and having them tied to the lines she threw them in the water. It tool a long time, an Hour, maybe more, but she had a bite. Amedium sized carp was on one of the hooks. It wasn't much, but it'll do for dinner as they had a decent amount of fruit and vegtables from earlier.
~~~ Feel free to add what ever to the time she is fishing.
The sounds of stirring in the echoing cave was what woke the medic up, and Yuu watched a little blankly as the girl wrote in the dirt and left the cave. She'd left her belongings, meaning she hadn't taken off. So, the Kamizuru stood, stretching out and popping a couple bones here and there. Sleeping on the ground wasn't the best of things, but he didn't really mind. It allowed Yuu to appreciate his bed just that much more when he was home.
Yuu wandered over to the traveler's belongings to see the note she'd left for him. 'Went to see if we got anything in the traps.' Rubbing the back of his head, the medic left the cave as well to take care of personal affairs and see if there were any berry bushes around. Anything useful, really. But, he didn't want to be gone when she returned, so came back empty-handed, sitting and waiting for the girl's return. She was feeding him, after all.
"We got nothing, I'll go try fishing. Please try setting the fire."
“'Kay.”
Accepting the fire kit, Yuu watched as she left again. So far, Lien had not given him any reason to dislike her. Learning of her blood had set him completely on edge, but the girl didn't possess kikaichu (although Yuu couldn't say he was comfortable with a giant spider that ate its own master's blood). He put the kit down, rising to collect firewood and lay it in the middle of the cave. There were a few dry sticks here and there, but he mostly had to find wood outside. Satsified he had enough, Yuu took the pile of odd sticks and bark back to the cave, arranging them all in a pile. Striking the flint until the bark started to burn, Yuu stoked it, adding more dry bark and dry matter he could find laying around, and it didn't take long to get a blaze going. It was only a matter of waiting.
In the end, Yuu decided to give Lien the benefit of the doubt. She hadn't done anything wrong to him. She'd known he was Kamizuru for the majority of the trip and hadn't had an issue with him, and until he learned of her blood, he hadn't had an issue with Lien. He was just being immature. Wandering out every now and then to collect more fuel for the fire, Yuu awaited his companion's return, the orange flickering reflecting off of his glasses.
After cleaning the carp, Lien went back to the area where Yuu had already had the fire going. Sitting by the fire, she quickly took care of all cooking preparations and put the fish to fry.
"After we eat we'll need to wait until darkness. only during the night you can tell the silver lilies apart from all other kinds. They look normal during the day, but a special component in the flower makes it give out a silver glow during the dark hours." the ginger told her companion as a 'by the way' statement.
Yuu glanced up when the girl returned, significantly nice and toasty in front of the flames. The day was going to grow cooler, especially inside the cave. He watched in silence as Lien cleaned the fish, trying to not admit he was hungry.
"After we eat we'll need to wait until darkness. only during the night you can tell the silver lilies apart from all other kinds. They look normal during the day, but a special component in the flower makes it give out a silver glow during the dark hours."
While Yuu didn't envy herb hunting in the dark, his eyes still lit up at the idea that they glowed in the dark. That was so cool. But that meant there would be a lot of awkward time together with the traveler, and after his behavior today... well. He remained quiet until the fish was finished cooking, nibbling on the share she had given him along with the leftover vegetables they possessed. Finally, odd colored eyes glanced up at the hooded ginger, regarding her.
