After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
Breathe, Yuu, breeeaaathe. Okami wasn't making this any easier for Yuu and he just laughed harder, latching onto Okami's wrist when the blonde started poking him.
“You mutt,” he hissed, still really trying to get that breath back. “Get down here.”
With a strong yank, Yuu pulled Okami off-balance by his arm, thudding him on the floor. Mutt deserved it. “Sane” my ass. Sitting up finally, Yuu gripped the catgirl on top of him, nonchalontly tossing her onto his friend and getting up, trying to at least still the snickering. Yuu had zero worries about Okami. He was just done.
“Hah... been stressed the last few days is all. Pretty sure I'm fine now.”
Yuu blinked, realizing for the first time in several minutes that his living room was covered in feathers. Plucking one out of his own hair, he stared at it. Then, he removed the ones from the catgirl's mouth. His luck, she'd choke on them.
“But since you entered without knocking—again, mind you—you get to stick around and help pick up the feathers. I was gonna call you anyway; Chi's going to teach me how to make stew.”
Every bit of Yuu's tone in that last sentence indicated that he fully intended on making Okami take the first taste.

Relying on the sage advice of the pretty blond, Chi leaned down to give Yuu a good solid nip on the neck, 'cause that would shake him out of it, right? But before she got the chance, she was very rudely removed from the medic's body and tossed onto his friend - who also made a pretty comfy seat, in all honesty.
The girl narrowed her eyes and growled softly when Yuu took the feathers out of her mouth. They were ruined, half chewed up and covered in saliva, but they were her feathers and she wanted to chew on them, dang it. She launched herself at the boy, trying to recover her precious feathers. Perhaps she'd knock him on the ground again; perhaps she'd miss, if Yuu stepped out of the way quick enough (entirely possible). Regardless, she was determined to get her chew toy back.

"Hm? What was tha-wah!" Soon his face was well acquainted with Yuu's floor and his back was soon met with about a hundred pounds of catgirl as Chiyoko was suddenly tossed on top of him. "My back..." groaned the blond as the girl got off of him and tried to tackle Yuu. Guess he pissed her off something pretty fierce.
"Geez Yuu, either you said something mean to her, or your so bad with dating girls its offensive." he sarcastically chuckled as he stood up and arched his back until he heard a small crick and felt so much better. Although the relief wasn't enough to hide the cringe when he heard Yuu talk about making stew, and from what he just said he was sure even if somehow it didn't come out as some sort of poisonous stew Yuu would add some himself just to spite the wolf boy.
Yuu hadn't expected to be tackled. Well, at least not twice. But, his arms shot out when the girl launched herself at him and he caught her , stepping back with the momentum of her weight and dangling her off the floor to keep her from charging again. She was light and she was short, and that made it an easy feat.
"Geez Yuu, either you said something mean to her, or you're so bad with dating girls it's offensive."
Yuu had half a mind to toss her again like a ragdoll at the male, but instead, set her on her feet. That would be mean to Chi.
“We're not dating. She's visiting Iwagakure for a while and I was assigned to be her guide. Things got... complicated, so she's staying with me.”
With that, Yuu guided Chi over to Okami so the three stood in line, Yuu in the middle, then proceeded to grab both by the ear, ducking his head and pulling until all three heads were nearly at the same height.

To her surprise, Yuu stepped aside and caught her, and she was dangling from his grip much like a kitten being carried by its scruff. She wiggled and flailed, trying to get him to let go - not computing that this meant he'd drop her onto the floor. When he put her down, she sighed with relief, and rubbed the back of her neck.
Chi yelped when he tugged on her ear. "That hurts!" she whined, trying to wiggle her way out of his grip - to no avail. "Let goooo!"

Oh so he was playing tour guide with her, seemed a bit odd but it wouldn't be the first time he's heard of such a thing. Was a bit of a shocker that she wasn't real.y his girlfriend, the two of them looked pretty cute with Yuu holding her up as she tried to tackle him. As he examined her to see if those ears were real or not they and his own ears were suddenly tugged on and his head was brought eye level with Yuu's. "okay okay just let go! Can't help ya if you have my ears!" the blonde whined as the pain of having his ear pulled was some of the most painful he had ever felt in his life.
When both of his company had the same reaction, Yuu released their ears, satisfied. Then he bent to pick up the bag, which only had half its original feathercount, and handed it to Okami. Yuu had been tackled enough for the day.
“I'm watching you, Chi.” Yuu had a pretty good idea she'd try eating more if he wasn't. Where all fourteen year olds like this? Or just cat people ones? Cats? Yuu didn't eat feathers when he was her age. Okami ate questionable things when he was fourteen, but not feathers. 'Yup,' he thought, plucking some feathers from the catgirl's head, 'these are definitely going on the top shelf.'

Obstinate, Chi nipped at his fingers as he tried to remove the feathers from her head - failing, of course, to actually get him. Unfortunately. Pouting, she started collecting feathers off the floor, figuring that the boys could get the ones that were stuck to other stuff, since they were taller.
When she thought Yuu wasn't looking, she popped a feather in her mouth to munch on as she worked. She was getting the feathers cleaned up. Just not exactly the way that the medic wanted her to.

He rubbed his ear once Yuu had let go and grabbed the bag and began to pick up whatever feathers he could get his hands on. He saw Chi put another one in her mouth and while Yuu would probably throw one hell of a hissy fit Okami just shrugged and reached the ones that were in higher areas. If she wanted to choke on a feather that was her problem, and by extension of being her caretaker Yuu's, Okami just wanted some food although with the way Yuu kept talking about it he might as well go hungry this night. "So what sort of stew are you making Yuu?" he asked as he placed a handful of feathers into the bag and looked and grabbed for more.
Yuu sighed when he saw the girl try to eat another feather. Was she really a genin? Reaching from behind her, the medic plucked the white feather from her mouth. He had a kid come in once, about four, who was choking on a wad of feathers. She was strongly resembling that child to him. Grabbing her head by the chin, he pulled it back, leaning into her ear.
“Stop eating the feathers and I'll get you something better to chew on later.”
With that, he let go. Like hell he knew what exactly. Probably more catnip leaves. She knew he had them, but not where. Bribery usually worked with children, perhaps on her as well. He tossed the soiled feather—along with the others he'd taken from her—into the wastebasket near the desk. Thankfully not too many had escaped.
"So what sort of stew are you making Yuu?"
Yuu looked up to the blonde kind of blankly, trying to remember what ingredients they even bought. Peas... carrots... um...
“Beef. There's some vegetables in it, too.”
When they finally finished picking up the feathers (Yuu had to give the catgirl a glanceover to see if she'd eaten any more), Yuu pointed up at the tall bookshelf.
“Please fold the bag and up them on top if you could, Okami.”
Hopefully she had the courtesy not to scale the furniture.

The girl pouted as Yuu plucked the feather from her mouth once again. She just wanted to chew on it a little bit, sheesh. She wasn't a little kid, she wouldn't choke on it - or try to swallow it at all - she wasn't that dumb. Chi snatched up the remaining feathers in her reach and deposited them back into the bag, which Okami placed on top of the bookshelf. If she really wanted to, she could reach the bag. Probably. Maybe. Definitely not without falling on her face though. That thing about cats always landing on their feet? Well, Chi was a very special exception. She had those moments where she kind of forgot how to cat (or how to person, whichever).
"Nikujaga," she answered Okami, despite not being the one asked. "It's a traditional meat and vegetable dish seasoned with soy sauce and sugar. It's called a stew, but it isn't really what you'd think of as a stew. And I'm the one cooking it. Yuu's watching."
Chi proceeded to grab the wrists of both Yuu and the blond and drag them towards the kitchen. Okami seemed a little dopey, so he didn't get to help. "Yuu, will you cut the potatoes into eight pieces each?" she asked as she explored his cabinets in order to find oil and a large cooking pot.

One special cat proof knot later and the bag was neatly resting on the top of the bookshelf. After hearing the explanations about what sort of stew it would be he let out a silent sigh, so it was just basic meats and veggies, nothing weird, thank goodness. An even bigger sigh of relief escaped his lips when the cat girl said that she would be cooking and not Yuu. "Looking forward to it Kittygirl." he said before being dragged into the kitchen along with Yuu.
As she told Yuu to prepare some potatoes Okami looked between them and felt well...a bit like the third wheel all of a sudden. Guess with her around that feeling would be present for a while, although he figured he might as well not let it bug him. "Is there anything I can do to help? I actually know how to cook better than Yuu you know."
Yuu couldn't say he especially liked being dragged around his own house by the wrist, by the girl who'd caused such a ruckus minutes before. But hey, food. He could deal. He'd learn better if she made him do it and walked him through the steps rather than just having him watch, but hey, she was offering at least. He wouldn't ask for more.
"Yuu, will you cut the potatoes into eight pieces each?"
“Yeah, sure,” he said, taking the sack of potatoes and going near the sink, pulling the cutting board from the counter. In a block on the counter were the knives, and he withdrew one used for slicing. Just because he wasn't good at cooking didn't mean he was completely kitchen dumb.
"Is there anything I can do to help? I actually know how to cook better than Yuu you know."
Yuu's eyes narrowed as he washed the potatoes. Well, Okami wasn't wrong. He was a better cook. A thousand times better.
“Remember the friend I mentioned that cooks meat for me sometimes, Chiyoko? This'd be him.”
Once the potatoes were washed, he started slicing them into eight pieces like asked, one cut longways down the middle, three cuts shortways. However, when he got to the second potato, he paused.

Chi cocked her head to the side and considered Okami's question. Cooking better than Yuu probably wasn't that hard... but if he wanted to help, she wasn't going to tell him no. So she handed him the carrots. "Peel these and cut them into wedges," she instructed him.
The girl herself was peeling an onion, picking off every bit of skin before giving it a rough chop and setting it aside. Peering into a small pot of boiling water, she nodded, satisfied, and dumped the whole snow peas into it. She set the stove timer for three minutes and then inspected the meat. The butcher had cut it to her specifications, so she didn't have to cut it into smaller, thinner pieces like she usually did.
"...Yes, Yuu. I didn't think I had to tell you to peel them..."

He took the carrots, grabbed a knife, and a spot to work and began peeling the skin off the carrots before chopping them up into small slices from the side, removing the tip and top from the pile. He slide his chopped pieces into the stew and caught a glimpse of Yuu cutting his potatoes, and already the blonde was cringing. Did he seriously not even consider that leaving the skin on them was a bad thing? Chiyoko had beat him to the punch of telling what he was doing was wrong, making the boy smirk as he decided to add his own opinion to the mix. "Told ya I'm the better chef, sometimes I have to come by and cook his meals otherwise he'll end up giving himself food poisoning."
