After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
"There's nothing wrong with my tongue. That's rude, Yuu."
Yuu had to admit his gaze lingered a tad to long on the pink tongue she stuck out at him. It looked... so bizarre... Part of him wanted to touch it, most of him knew that was not a thing that was okay to do.
“I am not rude,” he huffed, watching her flop haphazardly onto his bed.
"Geez scoot over a bit or Yuu can't get in! Plus don't hog all the blankets ya dang cat."
Yuu was amused, sitting on the edge of the bed.
“Just roll her up. She's tiny.”
For emphasis, Yuu effortlessly rolled her out of his spot and closer to Okami so he could claim his own area. He'd never slept with three people before; what were the odds of someone waking up on the floor? Reaching for the lamp, he clicked it off.

it's a starry starry night out here on hope street, paint my world in blue
Chi growled at the blond and burrowed further into the blankets, intent on hogging them now that he had made that comment. Cats were contrary creatures, something the boys would learn swiftly. And they didn't appreciate being called 'dang cats.'
She huffed at Yuu but otherwise didn't react when he rolled her aside so he could get into bed. The girl snuggled up to him, intending on using him as a pillow once again. He'd get used to it eventually. Curled up as close to Yuu as she could get without pushing him off the bed, Chi made a sleepy trill and yawned. Soon, she was out like a light.
a man might befriend a wolf, even break a wolf, but no man could truly
tame a wolf
Rolling his eyes Okami stole some of the blanket that Chi had decided to hog and wrap it around himself as he turned his back towards the two of them, if they wanted to have some sort of snuggle fest then he didn't need to see it. They deserved their partial privacy after all no? Silently wishing them both a good night and to not let the bed bugs bite, or in this case bed bees sting, the boy slowly drifted off into slumber land with a yawn and lost himself in his dreams.
After the last two nights, Yuu knew there was no convincing Chi that he didn't particularly like his chest being used as a pillow... not because he wasn't okay with cuddling but moreso because she was taking advantage of how soft he was; Yuu didn't want to be soft. He looked over to Okami for help, but the blonde had rolled over, turning his back to him. Damnit. He sighed; he'd really just have to get used to this until it was time for her to leave. Petting one of her ears, he shifted to a more comfortable position and drifted to sleep.
