After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.

The girl proved many valid points. He had not encountered a foil to his Byakugan, but that didn't mean he wouldn't ever. Even though he was a teacher, he still had a lot to learn. He didn't have the experience under his belt to be omnipotent like some instructors he'd met.
“Well... the Byakugan is called the “all-seeing-eye.” That's because it can be used to see more things than you can imagine. I can see for several kilometers full-circle around me. Not only that, but I can see through solid walls, through armor and clothing, and through flesh itself. I can see the flow of chakra, which is visible even in pure blackness. It's what helps me find—” He poked her shoulder gently with two fingers, right on a tenketsu. “—your—” He poked another one down her arm. “—weak—” And another. “—points.” And another.
There were countless advantages. Seeing through armor and clothes meant seeing concealed weapons. Seeing around corners, through walls, and great distances meant tracking. There were many things that could be done with the Byakugan.
“'s why I've never needed to fight blind. But you're right.”
That was actually pretty fascinating, and a really useful set of abilities to have. What stuck out in her mind, however, was the fact that he said he could see through clothes. Of course. "Prove it. What color underwear am I wearing?" Iku didn't doubt that the eyes did what he said they did. Mostly she just wanted to make him uncomfortable because it was funny.
And the damn eyes were what helped him find the most annoying spots to poke. Of course. "Is that why your taijutsu's kinda weird?" she asked. It certainly wasn't typical to just get poked like that and still have it be painful. "Must be nice to have all those sweet spots to hit just easily visible, instead of having to kinda make educated guesses." Not that she was jealous of the eye powers or anything. Naw.

Hayato squinted at her. He did not sign up for this when he wanted to be a teacher. But he did as requested and activated his doujutsu, glancing over her figure. Seeing much more than he needed to, he closed his eyes and relaxed them, sighing.
“Well, I could, if you were wearing any.”
He absolutely did not sign up for this.
"Is that why your taijutsu's kinda weird? Must be nice to have all those sweet spots to hit just easily visible, instead of having to kinda make educated guesses."
Weird, eh?
“It's not weird, it's efficient. I don't need wide, erratic movements to do damage.” He winked and stuck his tongue out at her. “I mostly just hit your pressure points in today's spar, which I didn't need my eyes to find. If I had struck you properly, you'd know.”
Iku snickered at his response. She was pretty sure he'd learned something about her he would have been perfectly happy not knowing. Man, if he was this entertaining all the time, Iku might just have fun with this sensei. At least he didn't have a massive stick up his ass.
Sticking out her own tongue, she huffed at him. "Doesn't mean it doesn't look weird." It was different than any other taijutsu she'd seen, therefore she dubbed it weird. Although, if he could teach her where all the pressure points were and she could attain a semblance of accuracy in hitting them... Well, it could lead to some interesting things, couldn't it?

Hayato leaned up against the training post he'd originally been perched upon when the girl arrived.
“I can teach you where to find pressure points, and which ones are the easiest to hit,” he told her. He'd always thought the jyuuken looked elegant, personally, but to each their own tastes.
“Lets get started on the next lesson, shall we? Some fuuton ninjutsu.”
"That'd be cool." She was more about kenjutsu than taijutsu, and with a blade you didn't really need to hit pressure points or anything, you just needed to hack and slash, but it would still be handy information to know. It was more than possible to get disarmed, and unlike in her spar with Hayato, she wouldn't always be able to get her weapon back. So improving her taijutsu was pretty important.
"So what kind of awesome wind techniques do you know, sensei?"

"So what kind of awesome wind techniques do you know, sensei?"
Well, he didn't know about “awesome,” but he did know a couple things. He'd never bothered learning many wind ninjutsu because he focused primarily on his tai. What he did have served to compliment his taijutsu.
“Let's try this one,” he started, selecting his lowest level fuujutsu. “It's called 'Stream.' It's a gust that's useful for changing your trajectory when you're airborne, but you can also kick up a pretty good dust storm if the conditions are right.”
He performed the handseals to demonstrate, taking a deep breath and exhaling a powerful gust of wind. When grounded, it had a bit of a knockback effect if you weren't used to it, but as he was, he easily kicked up a lot of debris with the move. Jutsu Used: Futon: Sutorīmu [Wind Release: Stream]
The thing about basic fuuton techniques was that once you knew one, it was pretty damn easy to learn more of them. They were all just making a big gust of wind and doing specific things with them, so all you had to have was a little control.
Iku copied the hand seals and blew out a stream of wind at the ground, the force behind it making her skid back a little. And it kicked up a decent cloud of dust. Pretty neat. "Can you show me how you'd use it when you're airborne?" Knowing her luck, she'd try it,fuck it up, and end up smacking into the ground and getting a fine layer of dust covering her hair or something.

"Can you show me how you'd use it when you're airborne?"
“Sure thing.”
Hayato jumped atop the post then bent at the knee. Jumping, he went as high as he could using his chakra, then performed his handseals again. A gust of wind to the front and side shot him backward and slightly upward. He rolled his legs and hips to shift his center of gravity to get his bearings, then shot another gust to send him more quickly to the ground than normal gravity would allow. Another shift and he blew a gust at the ground, which sent him upward, but allowing himself to fall again, he blew a more gentle gust which had the effect of an air pillow, buffering his fall to land easily on his feet. Naturally, he was short all to hell of his breath and panted.
“It's... really versa... tile.”
He took a minute to allow his breathing to return to somewhat normal before giving a deep sigh.
“You can change direction in the air, blast away enemies, and stop yourself from colliding painfully with the ground or a wall.” Jutsu Used: Futon: Sutorīmu [Wind Release: Stream]
Iku observed as her sensei showed her several applications of the technique, all of which looked like they could be really useful if she figured out how to incorporate them into her kenjutsu style. Of course, that would also necessitate learning how to perform ninjutsu one-handed; she couldn't just be putting her sword down every single time she wanted to use ninjutsu, that was ridiculous and impractical. Well, she could add that to the list of things she wanted Hayato to teach her.
"I can see this being really useful once I learn how to use it properly," she informed him. It was her first day with this new sensei and already things were going well. It was the first time she'd actually learned something in kami knows how fucking long. Yeah, whatever, teamwork was important, but all the teamwork in the world wouldn't save you if you didn't have any skills to put to use. The girl had never been all that fond of prioritizing teamwork; yeah, comrades mattered, whatever, the mission mattered more. From what she'd seen of Hayato so far, she'd guess he would disagree, and that was why she would refrain from bringing up the subject. She liked him, damnit, and didn't want to ruin that.

"I can see this being really useful once I learn how to use it properly."
At least she learned quickly. Hayato could see himself being at odds with this girl on several occasions. But he could also see them getting along.
“Give it a try yourself,” he said, “I'll show you the handseals again.”
He clearly showed her which signs to use, then stepped away from her. He'd keep an eye on the sky to ensure he could catch her if she messed up and fell.
Red eyes focused on his hands as he made the seals for the technique again. Satisfied that she would remember them, she nodded, and pondered what to try first. Well... might as well start big, right? Iku scaled a training post and leaped off it, making the seals for the technique and aiming the stream of wind downwards to propel her higher in the air.
She discovered swiftly that there was definitely such a thing as too much oomph with this technique. What balance she had was completely shot by the misapplication of the technique and, wincing, she crashed directly into Hayato as she neared the ground. Well, he was a comfy landing cushion, at least.

'Messed up and fell' was an understatement. The girl very near well blasted herself into the ground had he not dove to catch her, skidding in the dirt with the force of her momentum.
"... Oops?"
“Oops.” he echoed, groaning from the sudden impact. He pushed the girl off of him and sat up, this time staying on the ground.
“Don't put so much power into it,” he instructed, “You're not trying to fly, you're trying to propel yourself.”
"Well, at least I know you have really good reflexes now?" Iku laughed somewhat nervously, scratching her head. Sheesh, that hadn't gone well. All those thoughts about how simple these kinds of jutsu were, and she'd gone and massively fucked it up. Kami knows what Hayato was thinking.
So the genin tried again, putting far less power into the technique than she had the first time around. It worked... sort of. The wind stream hadn't been quite powerful enough, so she adjusted the chakra input until it felt right. What did right feel like? Not falling on her ass or almost causing a small crater in the ground with her bodily impact. The wind stream shot her into the air, and she mimicked how Hayato had used it to bring himself to a smooth, gentle landing. That part maybe didn't go perfectly, but hey, she was on her feet, at least.
"I kinda have a problem figuring out how much chakra to put into jutsu sometimes, since I don't use 'em as often," she offered as an explanation.

Yeah, at least he had the reflexes going for him. He was going to be using them a lot. He watched her try again, getting to his feet to prepare for a second crash-landing—which thankfully didn't come. She did well this time.
"I kinda have a problem figuring out how much chakra to put into jutsu sometimes, since I don't use 'em as often."
“That's something we can easily practice on. Do you have any particular exercises you use to practice on your own with?”
