After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.

All two dozen bees smacked into his face, causing the catgirl to giggle. Well, that might not have been entirely intentional, but it sure was funny. Her tail was swishing on overdrive; they had only just started, and she was already having tons of fun.
Chi called her bees back over to her and purred at them. "Good job, bees," she praised them, even though she hadn't a clue whether or not they could understand speech. "Show me somethin' else cool, Yuu~"
The way she talked to her bees was rather adorable.
"Show me somethin' else cool, Yuu~"
He tapped his lip, then knew just the thing.
“How skilled are you at the kawarimi technique?” he asked her, going to where his bow and arrows lay. There were a significant lack in the number of arrows he carried from normal, and when he pulled one from the quiver, she would see why. At the end of the blunts there was a round sack of cloth packed tightly with cotton, about the size of a golf ball. It was the best thing he had to throw at her, and while the impact would still pack quite a punch, she wouldn't get hurt.
Nocking the arrow, the medic aimed for her shoulder, pulling back on the string just enough for the projectile to reach her when he released it, rather than going to full draw.
“I want to make sure you can use it well, because the next bee skill I teach you will rely heavily on your ability to body switch.”

"Uh... I don't know, average?" Chi blinked at him, head cocked to the side in curiosity. Her tail fur puffed out in alarm when he picked up his bow. Sure, she knew he wouldn't really hurt her, but still! She didn't want to get shot.
She relaxed slightly when she saw that the arrows were not pointy and highly dangerous to her well-being. When he released the arrow, she used the replacement technique. The arrow thumped into a large rock, the catgirl a decent distance away from where she'd been standing originally, trying to get her tail to stop being all fluffed out and go back to its normal size. Sheesh.
Chiyoko had done exactly as he had expected her to. But she also needed to prepared for an opponent to not openly state their attacks on her. Quickly drawing another puff-ended arrow, Yuu shot at her again, the soft arrowhead aimed directly for the center of her chest. It was kind of unfair to her, as an arrow travelled a lot faster than a thrown kunai or something, but if she could dodge these, then she could dodge a kunai easy.

Perhaps she should have continued paying attention to the boy and his bow instead of fussing with her tail. His second arrow hit her straight on, and she squeaked, ears pressing flat against her head.
Chi dropped her tail and pinned her stare on him, waiting for him to shoot again.
It seemed she was getting serious now, good! He'd only brought a dozen of these arrows, and he didn't want to exhaust them all just yet, but she looked ready for him to shoot at her again. He shot again, aimed at the same point at the center of her chest.

Her tail lashed as she made the seals for the technique again, just barely avoiding getting smacked with another arrow. Instead, what looked to be a chunk of what had once been a training post took the hit.
Chi's bees were aimlessly buzzing about; she was tempted to send them after Yuu to surprise him, but that wasn't the point of this training exercise, so she refrained. Barely.
She successfully dodged this time. He wasn't going to say it aloud but he was definitely having a bit of fun. Yuu aimed one more arrow at her chest. If this dodge was successful, they would move on to learning the actual jutsu, and he let the arrow fly.

She replaced herself with the chunk of training post again, and decided what the heck, and sent her bees flying at Yuu. Perhaps only half of them would hit him in the face this time. "What's this got t' do with bees, Yuu?"
Seeing the movement from the corner of his eye, Yuu pulled out of his draw to see the bees rapidly approaching him. Swinging his bow at them, he hit only one, the rest of his own bees intercepting before he could get pelted.
"What's this got t' do with bees, Yuu?"
Finally she was catching on.
“The next technique I'm going to show you relies heavily on your ability to use Kawarimi. Subako Kawarimi is a technique where you create a miniature hive out of your bees to produce a solid object to body switch with. When your opponent impacts with the hive, they will be swarmed with the bees.”

"Oooh." That sounded like it would be super awesome. And it meant that, so long as she had bees, she would always have something to Kawarimi with, even in, say, an empty stadium. "Show me how~" she pretty much demanded, not that he wasn't intending to in the first place.
Chi called her bees back to her side, the one that Yuu had smacked with his bw landing on her hand. She stroked it with a finger. "Aww, poor mister bee. Did the big meanie hit you with his bow?" she cooed. It buzzed in response. "Well, shame on him, right?"
Yuu could barely control the giggle that rose at her sweet-talking her bees.
“You got it. First, bring all your bees together in front of you, and perform the tiger, dog, rat, and ram seals. The bees will transform themselves into a hive of beeswax,” he told her, the solid object dropping into his hands. “The more bees you use, the bigger this will be. You wanna do it in hiding so your opponent doesn't know you have it, and switch out at the last moment to give them a face filled with surprise bees.”
The hive in his fingers dissolved back into the suzumebachi. He didn't need to demonstrate further. Pulling a new arrow from his quiver, the archer watched and waited as she tried to replicate the hive.

The bee on her hand lifted into the air to rejoin the others so she could try the technique. They all buzzed in front of her in a tight little cloud. Chi performed the seals and, to her surprise, it actually worked on the first try. The girl barely caught the giant lump of wax before it fell to the ground.
Wow, the bees were really something. She admired the wax hive from all directions, turning it in her hands. No one would suspect that it was full of a bunch of bees that would stick the heck out of them. "So cool~"
“Good job,” he said to her, motioning with the end of his long bow. “Go stick it someplace,” he instructed her. “I'm going to shoot at you again, and I want you to trade places with the hive.”
Once that was said, the purplette back way, way away from the catgirl. Training or not, Kamizuru or not, that would be the last straw for the girl's bees and they would fuck his shit up once busting that hive. That was just how the bees rolled.

Chi nodded and looked around, deciding to set the hive down behind a training post. Then she moved so Yuu could shoot at her - not that she was all that enthusiastic about being shot at, in case she messed up - and waited, tail lashing, for his arrow to come at her.
Once it did, she used the replacement to swap with the hive and ducked behind the training post.
