After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.

Chi gave him a look, brow raised. "Uh-huh," she responded, clearly not believing him.
Chi was picking at the fluffy remains of the blueberry pancakes, the sausage links having been summarily devoured as Okami was speaking. She wiped her greasy hands on some napkins and downed her milk, licking her lips with satisfaction after she swallowed it.
Her ears flattened against the side of her head when he spoke again. "I don't have any family to send anything to..." she said quietly, eyes downcast. She had her friend Ringo, but she didn't know what she could buy for her. "What stores do you like, Oka-nii? I wanna go to those."

She didn't have any family...well Okami felt stupid now for saying that. Guess the only family she did have at the moment was Yuu, whoops. "Oh uh...oooh... h-how about we go clothe shopping then? I could use some new ones since I'm growing out of a few, and you could use some new ones as well right Chi?" He said as he hailed down a waiter and payed their meal off. "C'mon now, I know a street full of clothing stores we can look at." He said as he got out of his seat and headed outside waving the cat girl to follow him. "So what sort of clothes do you like to wear Chi? Frilly, loose, fancy?"

“Yeah, I would like s’me new clothes,” the cat confirmed, licking the sausage grease off her fingers and then wiping them dry with a napkin. She didn’t have many outfits at home; she’d always been too poor to buy any pretty clothes, so she was usually left with tank tops and shorts and not much else. “I like everything, Oka-nii. But I don’t have any dresses, so maybe we could find one for me?”
Chi had never worn a dress, and her friend Ringo had some that were really pretty. She had always wanted to have one, but it hadn’t been possible to justify the expense when there were more important things like shinobi tools and meat to buy. Now that Oka-nii was taking her, though, she figured she could get at least one nice thing…

Dresses was it? Suppose that would be something he could get her, perhaps one for everyday use and one for battle, it would have to come with one of those...what did they call it? Combat skirts? Something like that, although something nice that could be ruined on the field of duty didn't sound like something Chi would want if she cared for nice things.
"Right here, this place always have nice little dresses on display all the time." The blonde wolf boy said as the two of them walked in front of a little shop for girls with a sign saying that the entire store was twenty percent off. "Looks like we're in luck, might save some ryo and get ya more than just one dress. Go ahead inside and pick something out Chi." Okami said with a smile as he opened the door for the cat girl and would follow her in the moment she stepped inside.

Faced with an entire store of dresses and other cute clothes, the catgirl almost didn't know what to do with herself. This was the kind of place she'd always wanted to go into, but never had because of her money issues.
Chi wasn't going to pick out something super frilly, as much as she might like to; practicality was something she'd learned how to keep in mind while clothes shopping. So it was something nice and simple, made of light fabric, with pretty trimming that she was looking for. A whole large section of the clothes were the same shade of grey as her own hair, or close enough, so she outright skipped those.
Eventually, she gravitated over to a rack of blue and purple dresses and selected two: a sky blue dress with lace trimming, and a plain lavender one that, with some alterations, would be something good to wear for training or easy missions. She held them up for Okami to examine. "Which one do you like better, Oka-nii?"

Following the little cat girl inside Okami eyed all the dresses around him. There was nothing really for him in this store, unless he decided that cross dressing was now going to be a hobby of his, and even then he figured Yuu might be...well he wasn't sure how the Kamizuru would react. Probably bee him or something like that.
"Hm...cheap, pretty sure I have enough." The blonde mumbled to himself as he looked at the prices of all the dresses around him until Chi came back to him and asked him which dress he liked better. The lavender looked more like something that chi wouldn't mind getting dirty, it was plain, looked a whole lot more comfy to move in, plus he could probably get more just like it if it ever tore, which with Chi wearing it, was bound to happen sooner or later. "Lavender, looks to be like your kind of color. C'mon, lets go pay for it now."
Leading the girl to the counter he had the dress rang up and paid for it completely. "You know you could get another one if you want, or we can go to some other shops if you want. I hear there's a nice little pet store with some new cat combs in." Probably not the best choice of words with that last one.

"Thanks, Oka-nii." Chi gave the grey-haired boy a tight hug after he paid for the dress. She couldn't reach his face to rub her cheek against his, but she sure wanted to. Asking Okami to bend down for that would be kinda weird though, and the male already thought she was weird (at least, she was pretty sure he did).
Clutching the bag with her dress, she cocked her head to the side when Okami spoke again, one ear twitching. "I just got a new brush, actually," she informed him, not at all bothered by him assuming she'd go to a pet store for that kind of thing since, well, she did. Regular hairbrushes and fur just didn't get along. "I wanna go somewhere where I can find hair bows that match this dress."

As the girl hugged him the blonde gently patted the top of her head and smiled. As she asked where they might go for a bow Okami cocked his head to the side as well as he tried to remember what stores carried bows. "I think I know of one, just down the street on the corner, its a small accessory stall. C'mon we can check to see if they have something there! He chirped as he took her hand and led her outside and down the street "Yup, right there on the corner, go on ahead and pick something out Chi!"

Tail waving happily, Chi examined the wide array of bows and other pretty things to put in one's hair with wide eyes. After careful consideration, she picked up a lavender bow and a blue and black butterfly clip, handing them to the stall's owner for him to ring up and put in a bag. It was nice having someone that was willing to spend money on her, even if it was just Oka-nii.
Speaking of, the grey-haired boy got another big hug from a certain very pleased catgirl for purchasing the accessories. "What do you wanna do next, Oka-nii?" Probably something that didn't involve buying her more things, if she had to hazard a guess.

It was both cute and a little weird to see Chi's ears and tail move about, cute in that she really was part cat and acted liked one, and weird in how she was really part cat, and wondered how many urban legends about the felines applied to her. Perhaps even that rumor about Cats having nine lives? Would be pretty said if she managed to outlive both Yuu and Okami.
As he watched her pick out her stuff Okami looked around and saw a little bow shaped like a bumblebee, a grin spread on his face as the image of a certain boy wearing it came to mind. Tossing it up with the other items Chi picked out Okami paid for the bundle and soon the two were off to do something else. They were done with clothe shopping, perhaps something more recreational would be good. Which reminded Okami of someone he saw on their way here. "I know, we should get our faces painted, there's a block full of arts and craft shops back up the street and one old man does face paints real cheap. C'mon you'll love it! He exclaimed with excitement as he grabbed the girl by the wrist and dragged her along.
Soon they came to the other side of the street where shops selling art supplies, pottery, interior and outside decor lined the street corner to corner. In the middle was a small art studio where an old man with graying hair on his head and chin had a canvas, brushes, and paints sat on a stool painting a sun on a young girls face. "See? Whaddya say, want some ink on your face Chi? Or are you too Miss Clean for that?"

Before Chi could speak up, Okami was dragging her toward the face painter, tail lashing behind her. Did he ever stop and let people talk before he did things?
"Face paint makes me itchy an' gives me a rash," she informed him, ears flattening. On her last birthday, she had let Ringo talk her into getting whiskers painted on her face. She had been itchy for three days and that was not an experience she was eager to repeat. "You get yours paint if you want, though."

Figures she wouldn't want anything on her face sides some cat nip. The kitty girl sure was a weird one now matter how much time Okami spent around her. How Yuu got used to her, no less sleep with her, he had no idea. "Nah it wouldn't be as fun if only one of us did it!" The boy groaned as he led the two of them away from the face painter as a young girl got to him first. "Okay if you don't want art on your face then how about some for your room. I bet its pretty bland where you sleep yeah? Maybe you could get like a flower to brighten it up or something, hm now I might get one as well." He said as the two of them were about to pass a small decoration shop that had some plastic plants for display out in front. "Maybe a plastic one? You wouldn't have to care for it so there's no chance of it dying on you from neglect."

The catgirl huffed, mildly offended. Her apartment wasn't bland. She had tons of stuff tacked up on the walls; assignments she'd gotten really good grades on, some of the stuff she'd drawn that didn't look utterly terrible, a painting of some cats that she had bought... It was perfectly lovely the way it was.
"If I can keep myself alive, I don't think I have to worry about a flower dying, Oka-nii," she growled. "I already have a pot of daisies anyway."

Was he rude? Probably, maybe, perhaps, but it wasn't like he was grabbing her tail and swinging her around like a flail. He has thought about that though, of course they would probably have to numb every nerve in her tail to do that. Perhaps he could ask Yuu about it, he was such an evil scientist sometimes. "Yeah yeah...bet its missing some of its petals though." He smirked, remembering about her feather chewing habit when she arrived in town.
"Okay okay so no decorations. How about we just get a snack then and just walk around him? How about some popcorn or a pretzel or something. Or is there something you secretly wanted to shop for but didn't want people to know about? I'm up for anything you think we should do."

She growled under her breath. "It is not! You are so rude, Oka-nii," Chi pouted, tail lashing.
"Popcorn is icky," she commented sullenly, ears twitching. She didn't approve or disprove of Okami's suggestion, just gave him the Look that said he had made a very unhappy kitty.
