After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
Curious blue eyes fixated on the child's tail when it curled around a glass, and Nayami swayed the inorganic object she'd fabricated sprouting from her own spine. Having an extra limb to help with daily life would be fantastic. At least the girl had the grace to clean up quickly. She wasn't a complete animal, though the confined smell of fox would be something Nayami would need to grow accustomed to.
"I like meat too... I would keep some in the freezer, but I can't cook meat very well, so I don't spend much money on it 'cause it can be expensive if you want the good stuff."
Nayami strolled more into the house to inspect the kitchen. It seemed to have all the utilities but cooking requirements may be another thing.
“I can cook it,” she said, “Just purchase what I need.”
Vivvian twisted her fluffy head when the girl approached, one rust-colored glassy eye reflecting the Shiori's image with interest.
"Can I pet you?" The bird gave a soft clicking sound, turning her head to the other side to view with the opposing eye. "What kind of bird is she? I've never seen any birds that look like Vivvian."
Nayami watched as the child was fascinated with her vulture. The bird didn't often get positive reviews, so the creature was clearly happy that the child willingly wanted to pet her, long neck reaching out towards the girl.
“Viv is a vulture, a griffon vulture; a rather small one at that. She's quite responsive to physical affection, so you're free to pet her.”
Shiori could tell that the woman was somewhat bothered by the smell of her apartment, although she couldn't imagine why. So she set out a few scented candles on the counter and, with a snap of her fingers, created a spark in her hand. She willed the spark to become a small flame, and lit the pillar candles. The girl then snuffed out the flame and smiled brightly up at Suzu-san.
When Vivvian stretched her neck out towards Shiori, the girl squealed happily, her tail swishing almost frantically as she stroked the bird's soft feathers. She oohed softly, eyes shining, as she ran her small hand over the vulture's back. "A griffon vulture..." the fox repeated. "So cool!"

Here come bad news talking this and that, yeah. Well, give me all you got, and don't hold it back, yeah. Well, I should probably warn you I'll be just fine, yeah. No offense to you, don't waste your time, here's why:
We can probably skip to the end of her trip at some point soon where she leaves with Shiori. Also, I forgot to switch accounts, therefore I grabbed the wrong template. idec.
NOTES
The scented candles were appreciated, and Nayami wandered over to one of the lit candles to examine it and the scent provided. It was a pleasant aroma, the title of which she'd be sure to file away the next time she went luxury shopping. The bird on the chair clicked her beack together in rapid succession in approval at being petted, puffing out her feathers until she nearly doubled in size. Nayami moved to tuck her unbound hair behind an ear before her fingers brushed against the base of the furred appendages. Ah, right. In a moment, the fox anatomy was gone, her natural round ears showing once more.
“It's good you enjoy the bird. That will make my stay here easier. Do you think you'd want to show me around your village? I came here to do some research, and I would appreciate knowing the layout so that I do not get lost while wandering.”
Suzu-san seemed to like her scented candles, the fox noticed, ears perked up. “The scent is called vanilla lace. It’s my favorite. There’s a stall out in the village that sells hand-crafted candles. The old man who runs it is really nice to me. Sometimes he lets me have candles for free.”
When she turned back to the vulture, Vivvian had puffed up to like twice her normal size and that was the coolest thing Shiori had ever seen. She gently rubbed the softer, smaller feathers the bird had revealed by puffing up like that, the excited swish of her tail only increasing in speed. Birds were really awesome, and the griffon vulture was definitely the most awesome of all the birds in the world.
“Of course I can show you around, miss Suzu-san! That isn’t a problem at all. Is there anything specific you want to see, or do you want me to kinda just show you everything?” she inquired, cocking her head to the side in inquiry.

Vanilla lace, hmmm? She gave the candle one more sniff before replacing it on the surface. She did enjoy candles, they gave off a nice feel at home.

Nayami tapped her lip in thought. A library was always a good stop. She wasn't sure if the genin knew about any hotspots were, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask.
“I like to study and learn, so perhaps places like the hospital, the library, maybe resources? Any place else you may find interesting.”
When the girl was ready to leave, Nayami fetched her bird and pulled her cloak back on, waiting to go.
Shiori gave the woman her deluxe tour of the village, making sure to show her the library and the hospital and the pet shop where she had purchased the brush she used for her tail. They had a lot of products for birds, including bird coats. The fox thought it might be a good idea to get one for the vulture so she wouldn't be as cold, but they didn't stock extra extra large vulture sizes.
---
Three days passed quickly with Suzu-san and Vivvian to keep her company. Shiori had eaten her first real meal in what felt like forever, and she had experienced the joy of picking up shed vulture feathers all over her apartment. At dawn on the woman's last day in the village, Shiori packed a bag with some clothes and special trinkets and a couple books, and was ready to leave as soon as Suzu-san was. Her tail swished excitedly; she was going away to learn how to be strong and protect her village. Her headband was tucked away in the folds of her kimono; she hadn't wanted to leave it behind. Having some connection to the village she had called home was important to her.
The young fox almost couldn't believe that she was really leaving... But she'd made her decision, and she had to stick with it.
Nayami stood in a laxed position, awaiting the arrival of the fox girl by the village gates. Not having much to begin with the rogue had set off early to gather a few final things and would meet Shiori at the gate. The fox had decided to accompany her, and Nayami would wait until they were airborne before properly informing the child that she'd allowed herself to be abducted as a plaything.
Once the child arrived, Nayami put her arm around Shiori's shoulders, the bird snugged against the medic's bosom, pseudo-fox ear pointed out to the tundra. After a small exchange with the guards, they were released out into the wilds, and Nayami wanted to get a good ways away. The landscape was crisp and clear; no blinding blizzard such as the day she'd arrived. Nayami pulled off one of her gloves in her teeth, using a sharp item from within her cloak to open a small gash into the side of her hand. Shaking the hand to get the blood dripping, she rubbed it between her fingers then performed handseals, slamming both hands into the snow.
The giant body that emerged from the resulting smoke blotted out the sun, feathers blowing around in the breeze. A massive vulture weighed down the earth in front of them, talons scraping at the permafrost. Making a guttural hissing sound, he lowered a wing to the ground that the pair could use to mount. It was far too cold here for any bird.
“This is Vishnu, we'll be traveling on him to my home.”
Shiori picked her way through the deep snow to the gates, where she burrowed into Suzu's side like any small child would do with her mother. The guards barely bothered to question them before they gestured the pair out, and suddenly, she was taking her first steps as an ex-shinobi of Yukigakure no Sato. It was both terrifying and uplifting. No one she had ever known had cared for her as much as Suzu-san had these past few days. She felt sure that she was making the right decision.
Then there was a huge giant birdie that could swallow like a dozen of her in one bite and that was so scary she couldn't even. Her jaw dropped and she flinched back, clinging to the woman in fear. She didn't even know how big that vulture was... Really, really, really big.
When he lowered his wing, the fox looked up at her caretaker. "Is... is he safe? H-he's not gonna eat me, i-is he?"
"Is... is he safe? H-he's not gonna eat me, i-is he?"
“Not unless I tell him do,” she answered, stepping carefully up onto the outstretched wing like a ramp. “Now come, or that can be arranged.”
The rogue ushered the child up the wing of the bird until they reached a hollow between his shoulders. Walking on the plumage of the vulture was akin to walking on piles of pillows, slightly unstable. However when crouching, the feathers could be pulled apart, giving a nice safe area of downy feathers to sit in under the smooth plumage. Once they were seated with their belongings sat between the feather shafts, she gave Vishnu the order to return home, where his powerful wings lifted him off of the ground. Once he was quite clear of the ground, Vivvian wriggled loose from Nayami's cloak and took flight, falling away from the much faster Vishnu. The bird was hungry. She'd return home.
It was then that Nayami turned her gaze to the girl who clung to her, all softness absent from her face. This child was a shinobi. The people of Yukigakure will be looking for her once they realize she is missing. Nayami needed to ensure the girl was not a threat. Gripping Shiori's shoulders roughly, the woman peeled the fox off of her, pushing her against the vultures flesh into the soft white down.
“You might be young, but you're still a shinobi,” the woman stated, “I need to ensure you won't be a threat to me.”
From there, Nayami pulled at the child's clothes. She wasn't trying to remove them, not at all. She was feeling along the folds for hidden weapons, pressing her hands against the girl's body to check for paper, straps, weapons, anything that would be unfavorable. For a kunoichi, the chest and thighs were common places to hide weaponry. It seemed everywhere Nayami laid her hands, another knife cropped up. When the girl started squirming, the woman shifted her position so a foot pinned the prehensile tail to the flesh of the bird while her right hand grasped the child's throat.
“Hold still and be a good girl now,” she cooed, feeling along the girl's body and removing every blade she came across, flinging them from the bird. Sure the child had no places left to hide a weapon, she took the bags and fished through them and withdrew the headband that marked the girl a shinobi of Yukigakure. The woman held the band up in the air by one end, watching the plate spin and waver in the win. A toothy grin crossed the woman's features as she held it up before flinging it out of the girl's grasp.
“You won't be needing that anymore. Welcome to the life of a rogue shinobi, Shiori. I'm better known as Nayami, but you'll call me 'Goushinjou-sama,' little pet. Be a good girl and I might keep you alive a little while.”
The child squeaked and skittered up the wing after Suzu-san, really not wanting to be eaten by Vishnu. The large vulture proved to be even softer than Vivvian, and she settled in among his downy feathers, stroking him in awe. She didn't know it was possible to have a bird this big. Suzu-san was really fantastic, wasn't she?
Shiori snuggled back into the woman, heart beating faster than normal, trying to calm herself. When the woman suddenly pushed her down into the feathers, she wriggled and 'eep'ed softly, looking up at her with big wide eyes. Her ears pressed flat against her head as the woman began to search her for weapons. If Suzu-san had asked, she would have just handed them all over. Instead, the poor thing was terrified as this person she had grown to trust wrapped a hand around her neck and threw the weapons she had worked so hard to earn the money to purchase off the side of the bird. To her horror, her Yuki headband quickly followed the weaponry.
"...you're not gonna let me go back, are you?" she whispered quietly, beginning to understand the gravity of the situation. "G-Goushinjou-s-sama..."
"...you're not gonna let me go back, are you? G-Goushinjou-s-sama..."
The rogue chuckled.
“You became my property the moment you stepped foot out of the village with me, child.”
She pet the girl, allowing her to sit up. She seemed to learn quickly, taking to the term “Master” well. Her hand fell to the golden yellow tail, examining it. She'd never touched a real fox before, and wondered if this child had anything to do with the real beast. The appendage was quite beautiful, at any rate.
“I see why fox fur makes nice trim,” she commented. “It's quite beautiful and soft.” She released the tail. “We will reach my home in four hours. May as well keep yourself comfortable.”
Upon being released, Shiori sat up and picked some down out of her hair, smoothing down the feathers she had ruffled by squirming. Casting an uneasy glance back at Nayami, ears still pinned to her head, she inched away from the woman and curled into a small ball of fox on the vulture's back. For once, she chose not to speak, just curling in on herself, head resting on the fluff of her tail.
Never once did her eyes leave the woman. Shiori was afraid that if she looked away, even for a moment, the woman would do something to her. What, she hadn't a clue, but she had that feeling. So terrified red eyes gazed up at her through the pile of cloth and fox.
