After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
A small cloud of pink dust flew over the village from one of the nearby mountains, the source was one of the village chuunin who decided to work on his "craftmanship". From atop a cliff large spires of crystals littered the flat surface as a young man was slicing up training dummies with his tanto and piercing them with the crystals that he made. He soon beheaded the dummy with his sword and sheathed it with a grin of satisfaction on his face. "Man, I think I'm really getting better at this. Hm...wonder what else I could probably do with these things." he said to himself as he walked over to a crystal pillar and ran his hand over its smooth edge. For the past week Okami had been working on his Shouton techniques and coming up with ideas on how to better utilize it and make it even more powerful, so far it was coming along...slowly.
At the very least he was just thinking of ways he could use it as a weapon. Sure he could make a whole bunch of weapons out of crystal...but he never really applied it. Perhaps he could work on that next time, seemed like a lot of work though. "I'll get to it later. Think I need a bit better control over this." he said to himself as he crossed his arms over his shirtless chest and went over different notes in his head, losing himself in his thoughts.
Yuu didn't know why these plants had to grow so deep in the mountain range, but they did. Yuu also didn't know why his client would request maca of all plants. Sure, it was great for stamina and energy, but it was best known for it's potency as an aphrodisiac and reproductive health benefits. The man didn't seem to have any trouble in that department. Be he wasn't here to judge, he was here to help. Scooping the dirt with his hand shovel, Yuu added another bulb to the small pile.
Once he'd gathered about a dozen bulbs (the client only needed two, but who knew when someone else would want these), Yuu wrapped them in a sheet of plastic and stuffed them in his herb sack, knotting the bag so the bulbs wouldn't fall out and to make it easier to hold. One of these days he'd remember to get a messenger bag; yet the thought always eluded his mnd. Grabbing his recurve and adjusting it across his chest, he set out, only to be stopped by the sound of... what was that sound? Yuu couldn't put a name to it. Curiosity getting the better of him, Yuu changed course, heading towards the source if of the odd sound.
Perching on a rock, Yuu peered over a small ledge when he found the source: a young male practicing his jutsu. Having never been personal witness to a shouton user, Yuu watched a good while, noting how fast the crystal could construct. Bloodline techniques were always interesting to watch, having completely different properties than the natural five elements. He'd seen the blonde before; they were the same age and from the same batch of fresh genin faces some six years prior. He'd never personally been on a mission or spoken to him. The name was on the tip of his tongue, but for some reason, Yuu couldn't say what it was. Either way, he did not recall the blonde being a shouton user.
After a while, the other nin stopped, seemingly lost in thought. Suddenly feeling a bit like a stalker, Yuu stood from his spot, approaching the larger male. Learning was easiest through asking questions than watching from afar. His odd-colored eyes were fixated on the crystal as he approached. A vibrant magenta color, shiny smooth and almost transparent. It really was one of the more attractive attacks he knew about. As yuu approached, it occurred to him that he had no idea what to say. It wasn't as if he could use crystal.
“Um... hello. I saw you training while I was collecting herbs, and thought I'd come see how things were going.”

Grabbing a rag he wiped his face off of sweat and turned back to his handiwork only to be met with someone carrying herbs approaching him telling him about how he was watching him train. He looked familiar as well, perhaps a fellow classmate from the academy? The name was right on the tip of Okami's tongue as well. Oh well, it might come to him later. "Its coming along pretty great! Think I can start making these things with a little less chakra." he proudly said as he knocked on one of the crystals near them.
"So what's with the herbs? You a medical ninja who likes to get their own supplies? Kinda brave doing that in these parts of the mountains." said the guy who picked the same area for his own training, "Say, do I know you? You look kinda...familiar..." he said as he walked up to the other nin and studied him over with his own eyes.

“It's coming along pretty great! I think I can start making these things with a little less chakra! So what's with the herbs? You a medical ninja who likes to get their own supplies? Kinda brave doing that in these parts of the mountains.”
“Yes, you probably do know me,” Yuu said, extending a hand in greeting, “Kamizuru Yuu; I sat two rows behind you in the Academy.”
Yuu tapped the burlap sack against his leg, thinking of a way to help.
“Ah... yes, I like to collect my own herbs. I find the wild ones have better quality. This area happens to be where the largest plot of maca grows. It's not really bravery... I don't find the task daunting in the slightest. It's enjoyable.”
Yuu looked around at the crystals, and the crystal dust surrounding. They were nice, yes, but large. Perhaps he could help Okami; helping was what Yuu did best, after all. Returning his eyes to the blonde, Yuu studied him, eyes calculating out where the tenketsu may be on the shouton nin's broad shoulders.
“I might be able to help you with your chakra level, but I won't lie to you and say it won't hurt.”

Kamizuru...Yuu. The name did ring a bit of a bell, although the fact that he did sit behind Okami in the academy did make it a bit harder to remember. His face was familiar however, so he might as well take his word for it. "Yuu huh, good to see you again? Uh, name's Okami, Sakaki Okami. Man its been a while huh?" he gave his old classmate a pat on the back and a smile, "You look good, taking care of yourself eh?"
When he mentioned something about chakra control Okami arched an eyebrow and looked at him. "Really? Well I could always use more advice on stuff, but... What would controlling my chakra even more do?" He was still a bit rusty in the finer workings of chakra so it couldn't hurt to take a few notes and tips from anyone offering.
“Yuu huh, good to see you again? Uh, name's Okami, Sakaki Okami. Man it's been a while huh? You look good, taking care of yourself, eh?”
Ah yes, Okami, that was the name. Had always been a rather friendly one but Yuu had been quieter in the Academy than he had been after graduating, so they hadn't interacted much.
“Really? Well I could always use more advice on stuff, but... what would controlling my chakra even more do?”
In response Yuu tapped two knuckles against the crystal pillar, the sound more solid than he expected it to be.
“To use less chakra to create these, you need to learn how to control it with precision, first. I can alter your flow of chakra so that you can only access a small amount. Practice making your crystal with that smaller pool of chakra until you're happy with the outcome, and you should be familiar with the amount of chakra needed to make those spears, or whatever you like really. Once you're at that point I can widen the flow and then you can try moderating the amount you use.”
Fishing a little crumble of beeswax from a paper wrap inside his flak, Yuu rolled it between his fingers, warming it. It would take a few minutes for the wax to get warm enough, so it could be done while they converse. Okami would likely decline when he learns how Yuu does it but there was always the chance he'll say yes. It only hurt for a minute, anyway.

Condense his chakra flow to help learn moderation, it sounded pretty fun. It would help if he could make more of these things with less chakra, if he was right it would also probably allow him to do a bit more. "Sounds good to me! So how do we..." Before he could get an answer Yuu began pulling some sort of goo from his bag and squish it between his fingers. Well that wasn't something you saw everyday. "Um...what are you gonna do with that stuff?" he wasn't going to put that stuff on him or anything right?

"Sounds good to me! So how do we... um... what are you going to do with that stuff?"
Yuu gave a half smirk, the wax getting soft and pliable. If Okami was getting nervous about a marble-sized ball of wax, then the real objective would be highly undesirable.
“It's beeswax, and it's not the part you should worry about.”
Reaching behind him, Yuu felt along the shafts of the blue arrows, feeling for the ribbed ones. Withdrawing one, he started rubbing the wax from his fingers over seals carved into it, reshaping the markings with his fingernails. Flipping it over, Yuu ran his finger along the point of the straight-shafted arrow, ensuring it was filed to a fine point. A blunt arrow would cause unnecessary pain.
“As I said, I won't lie, it will hurt.” Digging in his bag, Yuu produced a waterbottle. “The good news is that it'll only hurt less than a minute, but you'll immediately notice the change in your chakra flow. I need to take this arrow,” Yuu began to explain, “and push it through one of your tenketsu. The back of the left shoulder will be the easiest place for that. These arrows were designed to completely sever the chakra network of an enemy, but by altering the composition of the seals written on them, I've made it so it will cut your flow to about 50%. Once the flow is compromised, which happens almost immediately, the arrow is removed and I'll heal the wound without a mark.” Yuu twirled the arrow in his fingers, offering it to Okami if he would like to inspect for himself.“It only needs to go in about one inch, but it's your decision. Luckily fixing the flow is much easier and painless.”

So he was going...to stick an arrow into him? That's how he was going to help him with his chakra control?! It seemed a bit much didn't it?! "Oh...um..." was all Okami could mutter as he took the arrow from Yuu and looked it over. The tip didn't look too sharp, plus it sounded like it wouldn't be that painful, though he might be sore in the shoulder afterwards.
"Um...Aw what the hell. No pain no gain right? So have you actually ever hit someone with one of these things?" Okami said with a smirk as held the arrow to the sky to inspect the seals on it before giving it back to Yuu and turning around so his back was facing him so he could poke him in the shoulder. "When ever your ready doc."
“Aw what the hell. No pain no gain right? So have you actually ever hit someone with one of these things?”
The hesitation was obvious, but the wolf-boy agreed. Many people didn't. It didn't matter to Yuu either way, but it was helpful. There was a lot of pain in the path of shinobi. At least let the pain be fruitful. When Okami returned the arrow and turned, Yuu dropped to a kneel behind him. Pulling at the lacing on his bracers, Yuu removed them and laid them ontop of the sack of maca roots; it was better to talk as he worked to keep Okami's mind occupied on something but pain.
“Whenever you're ready doc.”
“Yes,” Yuu started, placing two fingers of his right hand on the ball of Okami's neck between the shoulderblades. Carefully and slowly, he felt along the shoulder, counting under his breath. “I've hit many with those. They're quite crippling in battle. It renders ninjutsu specialists effectively useless.” Finding the point he was looking for, Yuu pressed his finger into the point, bringing the point of the arrow in place of it. “I've tested many of my arrows on myself, actually. With supervision, of course, until they worked exactly the way I wanted them to.”
Halfway into the sentence Yuu put an arm around Okami's neck to stabilize and shoved the arrow into the his flesh, piercing through the tenketsu beneath. The severing, or in this case, damming, went into effect nearly immediately, and after a heartbeat he pulled the arrow out, dropping it in favor of the water bottle, twisting the lid off with one hand. Once the squirming stopped for the most part Yuu released his neck, pouring some water over the small wound he'd made to wash the blood and pouring it into his hands. The water stuck to his fingers like the fingers of a glove, and Yuu pressed against the wound, water glowing green.
The pain should turn to an itch as the flesh from the small hole mended, and when it closed completely, should be nothing more than a phantom pain that didn't really exist. The arrow was abandoned, and when the wound closed, yuu poured the remainder of the water on Okami's back, cleaning off what was left. Finishing, he sat back on his heels, a hand on Okami's back to push him forward a bit, an indicator he could get up.
“Good news? We don't have to do that again. The rest is up to you.”
FUUINJUTSU: HAKAI YA [SEALING ART: DESTRUCTION ARROW] A|| FUUINJUTSU || N/A || LONG || OFFENSIVE/SUPPLEMENTARY
Of the three kinds of arrows Yuu carries, two types are used for sealing jutsu. Using either a straight-shaft bolt or barbed arrow, he dips them in Kamizuru beeswax. The seal is carved into the shaft through the wax. He fills the arrow with specialized healing chakra before firing. While either arrow can be used, the straight-shaft bolt is necessary. When this arrow strikes a tenketsu, it severs the target's chakra network system, Yuu's own chakra eroding it at the impact point. This renders the target incapable of utilizing ninjutsu. Even after pulling the arrow out, it can only be repaired by either a medic or someone experienced in repairing chakra systems. However, if the arrow misses a tenketsu, the ejected chakra misfires and causes a mildly painful popping sensation inside the wound with no further effect.
SUITON: IYASHI FURERU NO IZUMI [WATER STYLE: HEALING SPRING TOUCH] C|| MEDICAL NINJUTSU || SUITON || CLOSE || SUPPLIMENTARY
DWhen Yuu was younger he had a hard time controlling and maintaining his healing chakra. To counter that, he invented a technique that allowed him to use water as a medium. While he has perfect control now, he favors using this method as he finds it soothing for both himself and the patient. Dipping his hands into water, either by available source or extracting his own from the ground, he pulls it around his hands like thick, round gloves. Bringing his hands together to make the bubble larger, he touches it to the wound he's healing after imbuing it with his healing chakra. The water stays coalesced around his hands and the wound, healing and cleaning all the water touches. When he's finished, the water is tainted and must be discarded. This jutsu only heals wounds to the flesh and cannot mend bone.

It stung a little bit but that was to be expected. At least it was over rather quick. "That wasn't so bad. So now I'm only at like half my chakra huh?" he said as he stood up straight and rolled his shoulder and flexed his fingers. He then did a handsign for one of his crystal jutsu and three small shuriken made up of crystal soon appeared around him before falling to the floor. "Huh... Not what I was expecting to happen... So I just need to practice not wasting so much chakra right?" Boy did he feel sorry for people with not a lot of chakra to begin with now.
The user can create several hexagonal shaped shuriken made from crystal, each one resembling something akin to a snowflake. Each shuriken has a sharp edge all around and the user can focus them on a single target or spread them out to hit multiple targets at once.
“That's right. Practice working with the amount of chakra accessible to you. You may not be able to create crystals as large as you were, but the trick is precision, not size.”
Quality over quantity. Yuu gathered his belongings, standing away from the shouton user to watch as he tested out his chakra. He'd only altered chakra for others a handful of times, but supervising the results was always an amusing task. The maca for the client wasn't actually needed until the morning, so the medic had plenty of time to assist Okami with his training.

"Precision eh? I think I can do that." At least he hoped, Okami's fighting style was more along the lines of "hit big to reduce accuracy" which he knew was probably not the best way of fighting but it worked for him at the very least. However he thought it might be fun trying to learn how to hit an enemy with a smaller attack, one they couldn't possibly see coming. Doing another set of handseals he once again created crystal shuriken, only this time it was a single small one that he fired off in Yuu's distance, the Shuriken grazing his hair and cutting a few strands off of it. "Like that?" the Chūnin smiled.

Yuu nodded in approval, pulling the leather bracers back on and tightening the lacing. He watched as Okami adjusted to the feel of his suppressed chakra, and watched him make a pink crystal shurikan. What he did not expect, however, was the shuriken to whiz by his head, taking some hair in the process. He moved to the side on instinct from something going by so closely to the ear, and looked back to the wolf-boy.
"Like that?"
“...exactly like that.”
Moving backwards and away, Yuu equipped the recurve from his shoulders. He could take a hint. A moving target provided much better practice than a static training dummy.
“Come on, then.”

Well that seemed to get the ball rolling as Yuu started to ready himself with his bow. "Alright then, let's see what I can do now..." Okami smirked as he did a few more handseals, but instead of crystal he'd take in a quick breath and expel a small stream of water towards his training partner. Had to mix it up after all, he didn't want him to easily read his movements after all.
