After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.

Chi had been in Iwagakure for several days by this point, and she had hardly left Yuu's house at all. Desperate for some good food - she required a diet high in several types of meat, and Yuu didn't keep enough of it around - she had decided to go grocery shopping, and explore the village a little bit while she was at it. And she had left her guide at home, despite her wishes; he had had something important that he needed to do. The girl hadn't asked him what, she'd just gathered up her stuff and headed out.
It was a nice day; the sun was shining, there was a breeze blowing, and it wasn't all that hot. Overall, perfect to lay out somewhere and sun herself. She'd have to find a good sunning spot here, and that would require some exploration to be sure. One couldn't sun just anywhere, after all.
The area of the village that Chi was currently exploring was mostly free of people, except for a few milling about here and there, and a blue-haired guy on a bench. She liked the color of his hair, so she decided to go over and compliment him on it, plopping down on the bench in close proximity and smiling brightly at him. "Hi! Your hair's really pretty. I'm Chi, who are you?"
One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish... it was amazing how, since having a child, he could relate many things to children's stories. Including people watching. It was a day off, Cat was with Saiko, and it was too nice to sit and laze about at home. So instead, he sat by the mainstreet, looking for someone interesting to mess with. However, it didn't appear he needed to find anyone; someone found him. He looked up as a girl approached him, gold eyes lingering on some bizarre features.
"Hi! Your hair's really pretty. I'm Chi, who are you?"
“Thanks. What's up, pussycat?”
Kashii tugged at a few loose strands of his long hair absently. Well, this kid had some interesting features. Perhaps she'd be easy to fuck with, too. Needed to get his fix of kicks every day, after all. Some nekoimi kid—really, Kashii had seen so many things that it was only of mild interest—ought to make a fun toy.
“I'm Kashii. What brings you over here, Catnip? Lookin' for a scratching post to rub yourself on?”

Well, he seemed nice enough to her. Yuu's earlier warning that she shouldn't be so quick to trust people had long since left her head - she wasn't very good at listening most of the time. "It's nice to meet you, Kashii~"
Her tail flicked against his leg, and she gave him a somewhat bashful grin. "I'm here visiting family for a couple weeks. This is my first time here, so I'm exploring the village! It's a really nice place. I kind of wish I lived here," she chattered.
If Yuu had been with her, he probably would have dragged her away from the stranger by the back of her shirt or something else silly. The groceries could wait; she was in the process of making another friend!
"I'm here visiting family for a couple weeks. This is my first time here, so I'm exploring the village! It's a really nice place. I kind of wish I lived here,"
Kashii arched a brow, looking at the band tied around her neck. Kusa. Why would a young shinobi from Kusagakure have family in Iwagakure? Though, it wasn't exactly unheard of, just uncommon. And for the twenty-six years Kashii had spent in this village, not once had he ever met someone that looked like her kind here.
“It can be nice, yes. What sort of family do you have here, Catnip? I've never seen anyone like you around here. Suppose it's the other side of the family?”

"One of my parents was a Kamizuru, the bee people. I don't know which parent, 'cause I never met 'em, though," she informed him, nodding. "I just found out about a month ago, an' decided to come here so I could learn about the family techniques and stuff." Not that she had done any of that yet. No, she'd spent her time trying to cuddle up to a chuunin that didn't want to be cuddled up to, to her eternal frustration.
"I've never seen anybody else that looks like me either. I guess I'm just really unique!" she trilled, so enthused at the possibility of making another friend in Iwagakure that she wasn't even sad at the mention of the parents she'd never known or the traits that made her an outcast.
“Kamizuru, eh?” Kashii let a low whistle, ending his next statement with a smile. “Better than some no-namer. Takes mettle to cross into foreign shinobi territory just for a little family reunion. Not bad, Catnip~”
"I've never seen anybody else that looks like me either. I guess I'm just really unique!"
The bluenette hummed.
“I didn't say I've never seen your kind, I just said I haven't seen any here. Clearly the one I'd met in the Grass country isn't around anymore, if you never met him.”

"Heh, thanks." She grinned wider, showing off her pointed canines. "I figured I'd learn more here than by sitting on my butt doing nothing at home, so here I am."
Her ears perked up when he mentioned seeing someone else that looked like her. "Really, you've met somebody else with cat ears and a tail? I was kind of starting to think I was the only one, 'cause no one I know has ever seen one other than me."
"Really, you've met somebody else with cat ears and a tail? I was kind of starting to think I was the only one, 'cause no one I know has ever seen one other than me."
Kashii had figured the little bastards were rare. Thought they were some escaped convicts from a lab. He'd seen some fucked up shit on some of his jobs. At least these people were functional. If she didn't remember, than either her memory was wiped or she was born that way, either option would have had her with others like her. Maybe she got dumped? That was a possibility.
“I ain't seen many. I think I've seen four different ones in my lifetime. The one in Kusa no Kuni, I've crossed one in a desert village in Kaze no Kuni, and I met the last two when I was young in Oto no Kuni. None of them were shinobi, though, and none of them lived in the shinobi villages there. So you're the first I met that's probably useful. Where did you come from,, anyway? I'm curious.”

"I don't really know where I'm from... As the story goes, my parents dumped me at the gate outside of Kusa when I was a couple months old. I don't know who they were or where they lived or anything," Chi told him, frowning. That's what the lady who ran the orphanage had told her, anyway... That she was unwanted and abandoned and they had almost left her out there to die. Really pleasant.
She looked up at the man - not that she really had to; they were almost the same height - and flicked her ears. "Hey, Kashii-san, could you scratch behind my ears for me? It feels better when somebody else does it."
Kashii raised a brow when the girl asked him to scratch her ears. Well, how could he turn down such a simple request? It would be much to rude for a gentleman to do.
“How could I refuse~?” he purred, reaching up to scratch behind one of her large ears. It was like scratching Cat's, but on a much larger scale, and he rubbed close to the base for the extra feel-goods. “How's that?”

A purr rumbled in her throat as he rubbed near the base of her ears. He clearly knew what he was doing, so he probably owned a cat, and that gave him extra points in her book. Anybody who liked cats was a friend of Chi's. Especially when he had magic fingers.
Chi snuggled close to the man, leaning into his touch - practically sitting on his lap, honestly. Her tail waved behind her, showing just how much she enjoyed Kashii's scratching.

Without hesitation, Chi settled herself in his lap, curling up and making herself comfortable - and making both of her ears easily available for the man to scratch. Her tail brushed against him and she wiggled excitedly as he continued, purr increasing in its intensity.
This meeting was just getting more and more interesting, now, wasn't it? The fanged smirk widened when she heeded his words, straddling his lap. Reaching up with the other hand, Kashii grabbed her behind both ears and pulled her head a little closer, rubbing both ears. She seemed to quite like that, if the way she wriggled and squirmed in his lap was any indication. The fact that she kept rubbing up against him made him want to make this game a little more fun.
“Keep rubbing on me like that, Catnip, and we may need to take this somewhere else.”

Chi had no idea the effect her squirming was having on him. Really, she just thought he was as enthusiastic about scratching her ears as she was about getting her ears scratched. Kashii pulled her head closer, and she rubbed her cheek against his own, letting out a happy little trill.
She wasn't quite sure what he meant about taking this somewhere else, but hey, if it involved more ear-rubbing, she was all for it. So the girl nodded, leaning against him as his magic fingers continued to do their work. Her squirming didn't stop - as a matter of fact, as time went on, she squirmed more. Chi's cheeks were slightly flushed, and she was feeling an unfamiliar tingle in an... interesting place.
