After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.

Chi trilled in excitement as she scaled a spindly little tree on the edge of the training grounds, hanging off a branch upside down. She had been a little too eager to get started on learning about the bees, and after acquiring directions to the training grounds from a sleepy Yuu (that she may or may not have woken up by rubbing against him and licking the hell out of his face with her rough tongue), she had sped off to wait for the medic and his twin. Ears and tail twitched impatiently as she hung from the tree. Distracted by a butterfly fluttering by, she lost her grip and tumbled to the ground in a heap of disappointed cat, as the blue insect had flitted off before she could pounce on it.
Instead of scaling the tree again, she leaned against it, tail swishing over the ground. There were a few shinobi out and about, but not many; there would be plenty of room for the Kamizuru twins to teach her what she could do with the suzumebachi, other than summon a couple and watch them buzz around aimlessly. Hopefully, she would be able to learn how to summon more than three of them. Three bees was not a very scary number, after all.
“I've been here waiting for you for half an hour. What are you, a girl?”
Kyo looked over at his brother, lilac brow arched over an amethyst eye with the toothbrush dangling from his mouth.
“You did not just say that to me.”
All he got was a grin in response. Using a towel to wipe his face, the Kamizuru male wiped his face and left the bathroom, getting his pack to set out. Yuu had asked him to help teach some girl bee tricks. Kyo admitted he was pretty interested in seeing this girl; he'd been busy the last week or so and hadn't dropped by Yuu's place. Yuu described her as some sort of cosplayer from Kusa who was a long lost relative or some crap like that. And that she'd been staying with his little brother, which in and of itself was amusing. How many heart attacks had Yuu had already? Did she know his little secret? If not it would be an amusing little taunt.
“Alright, I'm ready. Let's not keep the kitten princess waiting.”
“'Kitten princess.' Really?”
This time it was Kyo's turn to give a grin in response, and the twins headed out to the training field, sharing a bottle of water.
When they reached the ground, they could see her standing against a tree, watching butterflies. Yuu blinked, suddenly remembering the way she'd woken him up this morning. Immediately he changed his line of sight to someplace else, taking a seat out of the way. Kyo shifted his pack on his shoulder before slipping it off, tossing it towards the medic. Kyo was the one doing most of the teaching today; Yuu was there to oversee and prevent accidents. Catching the bag, Yuu set it down next to his things, watching the girl and his brother.
Kyo looked over the girl. Tiny little thing, wasn't she? Blonde, too... nice. How troublesome could she be? From what Yuu described she was quite a handful. His odd colored eyes—opposite of Yuu's—fell on her ears, dropping down to her tail. Impressive.
“Pretty nice cosplay,” he commented, reaching to snatch the fluffy tail and examine it. “Looks n' feels pretty real... how do you move it like that?” he asked, bending it in his hands. Yuu choked on the water he was drinking, nearly laughing out loud and coughing instead. He forgot to mention that the cat accessories weren't “accessories” and were real. Kyo would learn this in about two seconds.

Chi snatched her poor tail out of the boy - Kyo's, she could tell because his voice was different than Yuu's - hands and promptly thwacked him with it. Hard. "They are real, thank you," she responded huffily, ears flattening. An accusatory glare pinned her favorite Kamizuru. Had he really not told his brother that her cat appendages were real? If she hadn't been in such an affectionate mood, she would have smacked him.
Speaking of affection... She decided to forgive Kyo his transgressions and rub up against him, stretching up to drag her rough tongue across his cheek. With a trill, the girl gave Yuu the same greeting, seemingly torn between which of the two boys she wanted to shed on at that particular moment in time.
"So, so, so, what are you going to teach me, Kyo?" she chirped, words punctuated by nuzzles to every part of the male's upper body that she could easily reach. Yeah, this was going to be real fun.
Kyo shied away when she smacked him with that tail.
“Whoa,” was all he could muster before the girl's body was pressed against his. Completely unepecting this, she got a lick in before he stumbled away from her, just kind of staring dumbly as she went to do the same to Yuu. Was this what he meant by “troublesome”?
Yuu leaned away when she did the same thing, not quite sure what to make of her. She'd been here a while now and hadn't acted this cuddly before. She hadn't even met Kyo until now and she went and rubbed her body on his and licked him. And then this morning she woke up like a lovestruck pup—er—kitten happy to see her master. It was a little... jarring, was a way to put it, Yuu supposed.
"So, so, so, what are you going to teach me, Kyo?"
“Yuu YUU why is she doing this!?”
“I don't know she woke up like that!”
Kyo put his hands on Chi's shoulders and pushed her off of him, keeping her at arm's length.
“I'm gonna teach you to use your bees. Stop doin' whatever it is you're trying to do here and show me what you've got.”

She pouted at the twins as she was pushed away, rather offended that they didn't want her attention. Really, were they trying to upset her? She just wanted to cuddle a little bit before they started training... Hmph. See if she would cuddle when they wanted to. Darn boys.
At Kyo's prompting, however, she attempted to focus on the task at hand for longer than two seconds. Performing the summoning technique, she put all her effort into it and got... Four bees. Well, it was more than three. They hovered in the air around her, and she trilled as if she'd accomplished something great. It was an improvement, after all! Not that they knew that. But she did, and that was all that mattered.
Her reaction was as amusing as he thought it would be. Shooing Yuu away, Kyo stuck his hand out into the swarm, where two individual bees landed in his palm. Slowly, he brought it back down low to show the girl.
“First you need to know the difference between males and females.” Kyo adjusted the two bees in his hand gently, and they buzzed in irritation but mostly stayed passive. He then pointed to one of them. “This one is female, and the other is male. The males are called drones.”
He pointed to the stinger of the female, careful not to touch it. “The females have longer stingers and can shoot them, and the males have two black stripes instead of three. The females are the main offensive force because they can attack from a distance.”
Shooting the stingers killed the bees as opposed to merely landing and stinging; so Yuu personally didn't like using that technique. But, Kyo was not wrong in his teaching; Kyo excelled in using his suzumebachi to fight, so Yuu didn't speak up. Dismissing the bees he'd called, he returned to his things to sit on the ground and watch. Kyo scanned the cloud of bees before picking another one by its wings, releasing the two from his palm. Holding the irritated bee, he pulled Chiyoko's hand up, dropping it in her palm so it landed on its back, twisting around to get to its feet then inspecting the catgirl's palm.
“This bee is one that you summoned, a female. Because you called her, she will listen to you. That's why she didn't sting you when I put her in your hand.” Kyo let go of Chiyoko's hand so she was holding the bee all by herself. “Our bees feed on chakra, and when you summon them, they become attuned to yours. Imagine you're trying to hold water in your palm; pool chakra into it as the water. Hold your hand out towards the swarm and will those bees that you summoned to come to your hand.”
Ah, good method. Teach her how to control the bees before teaching her how to summon a ton of them. Kyo had taught a lot of the younger Kamizuru kids, Yuu knew, but he'd never really attended the lessons.

Chi deflated immediately as the area was filled with more bees than she thought she would ever see. Ears flattened, tail drooped, and she paled visibly. Oh my god at the bees. There must have been, like, five thousand bees at the very least. Big blue eyes scanned the buzzing throng, mouth dropping open. Holy bees. How do you even summon that many bees?!
She cast her pathetic four bees a glance as they went to join their brethren, highly disappointed in her own ability (or rather, lack thereof). But, if Kyo could really teach her to do that...
The girl had a hard time focusing on anything, as would anybody faced with a giant horde of bees. She just... So many bees.
Her reaction was as amusing as he thought it would be. Shooing Yuu away, Kyo stuck his hand out into the swarm, where two individual bees landed in his palm. Slowly, he brought it back down low to show the girl.

Chi's attention was drawn to Kyo as he approached her with two bees in his hand. He explained the differences between males and females, and she took it in, nodding slowly. Females had bigger stingers. Males have fewer stripes. Females were good for distance. That wasn't too complicated. However, she did have a question. "Kyo-nii, is there a name for the lady bees?" Of course it wasn't about anything important. She was simply curious; he'd mentioned a name for the males, but not the females. And the catgirl had the tendency to pick up on little things like that and remember them more distinctly than, y'know, the stuff that actually mattered.
When Kyo grabbed her hand, she nearly pulled away, but stilled at the last second, allowing him to place the bee in her palm. Its little feet tickled her, and she giggled, raising her hand to take a closer look at the bee. "Hi, little bee," she chirped quietly, examining her carefully.
Ears perked up as the boy explained how she could get her bees out of the huge swarm. She imagined her hand being filled with water, just like he'd said, and channeled chakra to her hand. Three more bees - two males and another female - buzzed out of the swarm and landed on her palm. Chi made an excited noise that seemed to startle them. Ears flattened instantly,, and she resumed channeling her chakra so they would be nice and happy.
"This is so cool," she breathed, admiring her handful of bees.
“Yeah. All of these are worker bees. There's also the Queen, new queens, and nursery bees. For our bees, the Queen is a massive summon and dangerous, and the nursery workers are called the Royal Guard. We're going to focus on manipulating the workers and drones.”
Kyo watched as she called her bees, nodding in approval when she got it on the first try. Most didn't.
"This is so cool."
“Isn't it?”
Kyo dismissed a good number of his bees so only a handful remained. Overkill was no longer useful here. He called four to his palm to match her amount.
“Now,” he said, stepping back and creating a clone of beeswax. After the clone was created, he removed his headband from his neck and tied it to his head so that she didn't attack the wrong target, then grabbed his clone by the shoulders an brought it forward. The clone looked rightfully nervous. “This is your target,” he said, walking the clone backwards then abandoning it and moving off to the side. “The same way you called the bees to your hand, tell them to attack the clone and release the chakra you're holding in your palm.”
The wax clone looked at his master, wearing a face that very easily read “well, fuck you too.”

The girl's gaze was fixed on the bees crawling around on her palm, although she was (sort of) listening to Kyo talk. So aside from all these little bees, the workers and drones, there was the Queen and the Royal Guard. "What do they look like? Can you show them to me?" she inquired, still not looking up from the bees that were inspecting her.
When she did look up, the boy seemed to have multiplied, and the clone was giving the original a very sour look. She giggled, and mentally told her four bees to sic him. Specifically, to go for his face, which was alright 'cause he was just a clone. It took her a minute to get them to listen, but then they buzzed off in the clone's general direction, hopefully to sting him a bunch.
"What do they look like? Can you show them to me?"
“Not today, kitty cat. You don't want to meet the queen; and trust me, you'd know her if you saw her. Maybe you can get Yuu to show you one of the Guards later.”
“Oi, I'm not the bee teacher.”
“You got bees, use 'em once in a while.”
“Fine. I'll show her one of the guards later.”
“Thought so.”
Hmph. Just because he was five minutes older, Kyo thought he was the big older brother of the relationship. Yuu watched with rapt attention regardless. Who knows, he may even learn something from Kyo. So, the pair observed as she did what was asked, sending her four bees towards the clone.
Whatever she was trying to accomplish didn't work. Kyo's clone flinched with two of the bees came in contact with his face, crawling around on it harmlessly. The second two floated aimlessly around his head, one of those two breaking off to buzz after the real Kyo. Backing away from the bee, the older twin stuck his hand out for the insect to land on.
“We may need to try this again,” he said, inspecting the male that landed on his knuckles. With a flick of the wrist, he sent the be buzzing back into the air. “You can't be halfhearted,” he said, volume raising, pointing at the clone, “This guy is your target! He's not me, he's not Yuu, he's an enemy. Take him down. Your bees are your weapons, they will protect you. Now, use them! Tell them to shoot and sting your enemy!”
CHAKRA | 100% WORD COUNT | 268 TAGS | Kamizuru Chiyoko ADDL. NOTES | Will be teaching you the low-rank thousand stingers technique here. Only the females can shoot their stingers, and yes, it will kill them, following bee logic. She will need to summon more. I've decided that the male stingers are just hardened bee-penises and that's why they have stingers. :v

Chi trilled happily when Yuu agreed to show her one of the Royal Guard at a later time. She wanted to meet all of the bees, although what with the twins' summoning of like ten thousand of the things, she was pretty sure that wasn't altogether very possible.
The girl pouted at her bees when they decided to just chill with the clone instead of stinging the heck out of him. What was she doing wrong that they didn't want to listen to her? Again, she told them to sting the ever-loving heck out of the clone, and they had better do it this time!
Her ears flattened when, instead of stinging the clone, they came buzzing back in her direction. She shrieked and ducked underneath them, running behind Yuu and clinging to him for cover as the bees hovered threateningly around her. "What did I do what did I do Kyo-nii fix them!"
Yuu pouted a little bit. Why did everyone else get to be “nii”? Was Yuu not good enough to be a big brother too? Maybe it was the girl thing? Either way, he didn't let it show, and pet the girl as she hid behind him.
“'s alright, Chi. They won't hurt their summoner.”
Rather than being amused like Yuu was, Kyo looked at the girl disapprovingly. With a sigh, he sent his bees to cut off hers.
“What did I just say?”
Coming over to give the girl a slight tug on the ear, he made her get up and get back into position across from the clone.
“This is how it's done,” he said, taking his bees and ordering them to attack the clone. Without hesitation, his own four bees attacked, abdomens pointed forward. The two females shot their stingers into the shoulder of the clone, the two males making direct contact into its face. The clone jumped back in pain; the insects didn't do enough damage to make it dispel, and it didn't have a real body to be affected by the sleeping toxins, but it was still clear that hurt like a bitch. The two males buzzed aggressively around the clone's head while it swatted them away while cursing, and the two females fell to the ground, dead. Putting his hands together, Kyo summoned a handful more bees to continue the lesson.
“Now that's what you need to do. It's a fundamental.”
Hachi no Senbon no Jutsu [Thousand Bee Stings Technique] D || Ninjutsu || N/A || Close/Mid || Offensive The user summons their bees to attack the target. The bees will shoot their stingers forcefully. The toxins in the stingers put the target to sleep once they receive several dozen stings. Shooting the stinger will cause each individual bee to die.

"I'm sorry..." Chi's ears flattened, and her gaze pointed downward. She just wasn't sure what she had done wrong, why the bees hadn't listened to her... Kyo's response to her mistake only made her duck back behind Yuu and turn red with shame.
She hissed under her breath as he tugged on her ear, but followed him back into position across from the clone, calling her bees back to her hand. At least they would do that. Kyo's example only showed her what she already knew she was supposed to do. He didn't tell her how he did it or what she had done wrong, so all she had to go on was her instinct... Because, to be honest, she was a little afraid to ask the boy a question for fear of getting snapped at.
Concentrating intensely, Chi silently explained to her bees that she really really needed them to go attack the clone, and could they please do that for her so Kyo wouldn't yell again. Then she released them from her palm and hoped.
