After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.

It had been a few days since he came back from his job in Konoha. While he had escaped his original captor but still had to fight off some shinobi as he made his way home. When he did he made a bee line to his friend Yuu's house for treatment, he trusted the Kamizuru with his wounds than he would other doctors, plus he felt like he needed a friend to dicuss his time there as well. "...And then she fucking kissed me! Oh crap, you don't think she put some kind of seal on my lips?" The boy panicked as he touched his lips.

He'd been trying, he really did, but at this point, Yuu stopped bothering to suppress the giggles that turned into laughter when the blonde touched his mouth.
“You knucklehead,” he laughed, rubbing his knuckles lightly into Okami's hair. “Starting breaking even the girls' hearts now, have you?”
Still, Yuu knew that the superstitious mutt wouldn't be contented until he was sure there was no seal, and Yuu happened to study fuuinjutsu. Standing over Okami, Yuu held the male's face up to the light, inspecting his lips.
“You're clean, Okami. It was just a kiss.” He backed away, flicking the blonde on the forehead. “If it were me I'd have put something that'd keep your mouth shut.”
Still, getting away from a jounin and escaping Konohagakure without being trailed or more hurt than he was... it was impressive. He did a good job. Yuu wouldn't pry for details of how the actual mission went; he already assumed it was a failure. Okami had likely been chewed out plenty by the Tsuchikage.

Oh sure laugh at the dog, bet if it was Yuu who got kissed he wouldn't be laughing, hell he'd probably be so embarrassed he might not even come back to the village. That would be pretty hilarious. "Shut me up? Please you know you can't resist all my helpful advice." He said with a huff.
"Man I'm just lucky she took that bomb off of me, if she left it on there was no way I would be coming back to Iwa, or keeping my arm, I'd be a literal walking time bomb." He rubbed his arm where the tag used to be and shuddered to think of what could have happened to his precious arm. It was probably a good idea not to think about it anymore, he was free from that cursed prison now. "So uh...I noticed Chi isn't here, did she go out or something?"

If anything, Yuu laughed more.
“Helpful? Like that time you told me we should steal a beehive to recruit the bees back when we were genin?”
It would have made any summoner proud, the way that hive viciously assaulted the pair to protect their home, running them right off, hides riddled with stingers.

Yuu snatched the wolf-boy's wrist away from him, examining the arm as if it were an inanimate object.
“I dunno man, I could probably make you another arm if you lost one. It would be fun. Kinda like pin the tail on the donkey. But with your nerves and bones.” He stuck his tongue out, dropping his friend's limb. “No peeking~”
Jokes aside, Yuu didn't know what he'd do if the mutt had come back with his arm blown off, or even worse, not come back at all. That was something he wouldn't be able to deal with, and he didn't even want to think about it.
"So uh...I noticed Chi isn't here, did she go out or something?"
It took Okami this long to notice Chi wasn't here? Yuu rubbed his upper arm a bit listlessly.
“She left to go back to Kusa while you were gone. Remember she was only here for a month?”
The medic was going to be lonely without the girl, he had to admit. Sure he had Okami but... well, it wasn't the same. She had been giving him things he could never hope to receive from the blonde. He hadn't really wanted her to leave, but there it was.

"Hey if it had worked then you would have gotten a lot more bees than you would have now. Your the one that dropped the thing because you couldnt' hold it." Granted Okami did try to get some fresh honey out of it while they were getting it down, but that was not the point. It was all Yuu's fault in the long run.
When Yuu talked about probably being able to replace a lost arm Okami wondered what kind of arm would it be. Would it be mechanical? Could he load it with shuriken and fire them off in a surprise attack? That would be awesome. His daydreaming however was soon broken by the mention of Chi going back home to Kusa. Had it been a month already? "Wow...time sure flies. I'm gonna kinda miss her, she was a little annoying, but in a cute way. What about you Yuu? Wasn't she like your cousin?"

“Ah...” Proper words weren't forming after a moment. Chi... was his cousin, wasn't she? Of some kind, anyway. Even teaching her the bee techniques, looking at the girl it had been easy to forget. But now that she wasn't here and Okami voiced it... Yuu had fucked another Kamizuru holy shit. The medic plopped onto the cushion beside his friend, hand going to his mouth as he puzzled out how to be okay with that, because frankly he did not regret it. “Not... really... it's kind of difficult to explain but she's not directly related to me.”
Sighing it off, Yuu brought his feet up onto the couch and leaned against his friend.
“Yeah, I'll miss her. It's gonna be pretty lonely around here, so you better stick around too. Don't need you going off and getting mauled by she-bears and lions again~” he added on in a tongue-out grin.

Wow, so he really wouldn't miss her? No he knew that had to be a lie, Yuu couldn't say that, the two of them nailed each other, Chi even said so, even though Okami wish she hadn't. Maybe Yuu didn't know that he knew, oh how much fun he could use that against the medic.

The blonde was talking so rapidly about so many different topics at once that Yuu didn't even know about which thing to respond to first. Although by the time Okami stopped Yuu knew exactly which part took priory. He slid his glasses into his lap and covered his red face.
“Of all the ways you could have phrased that... she told you about it?” Somehow, Yuu wasn't surprised, but he surely hoped that details didn't get passed on to the blonde. Those were probably mental images the blonde would want to bleach out of his mind. “Bizarre that someone exists that would actually want to sleep with me, isn't it? She's a good girl. You've got it too easy, mutt.” The medic craned his head so he could look at the blonde's face. “Visiting her will be a great reason to visit Kusa though, don't you think? They've got a good medical program, too.”

He's got it easy? Did he not just tell him about the lady that kissed him, the lady that was from another village and was practically holding him hostage? "Well its like I said, work on improving your image and you might have better luck bring back home someone. Next time your coming with me to the gym. We'll hook you up with a new body, one that will really turn heads."
He was joking of course, well partially, the guy could use a bit of a touch up, he was always wearing that dumb hat and if he lost it it could score him some cute points. Back to the talking Kamizuru and the mention of visiting Chi in Kusa the wolf's interest was peaked. "Oh? Mind if I come with ya? I uh, would like to have some people around when I go out of the village. Never leaving by myself. Oh and cause I wanna check out that med program too, been interested in learning a bit more first aid and stuff."

The mental image of himself buff and muscular alone was enough to make the medic giggle.
“It's not like I wanna just bring people home with me.”
No, he wanted a relationship with someone he felt his secrets were safe with. There were not that many people who he trusted that much; he could count them on one hand with fingers left over.
"Oh? Mind if I come with ya? I uh, would like to have some people around when I go out of the village. Never leaving by myself.”
Yuu smirked at the wolfboy.
“Afraid your good looks will attract more trouble?”
Okami was pretty rattled about that girl, though, so Yuu decided to stop picking on him about it.
"Oh and cause I wanna check out that med program too, been interested in learning a bit more first aid and stuff."
The medic raised a brow.
“You... do realized your best friend is a trained medic, right? I feel a little offended; I could teach you anything you want to know about first aid and probably more. But hey, if I'm not good enough, I'll understand. Kusa'a pretty good too.”

"Eh something like that. Never knew being pretty could actually do that, or at least happen to me." It felt like he was in some sort of crappy romance manga or something.
When Yuu began reminding Okami that he was indeed a medic a hint of red covered the blonde's cheeks. Shit he forgot, his best friend he had known for years was a medic, and all this time he hadn't even bothered to remember anything that he knew until he decided to learn some basic first aid a few days ago while in Konohakagure. He had to find some sort of excuse to say to him.
"Well...its just. You seem kinda mad doctor-ish. Like if a few more years go by you'll start doing some weird experiments in your basement or something." Totally wasn't like he didn't see Yuu turning into one or anything. "Besides I kinda would like a uh...professional's opinion"

The glasses made their way back onto Yuu's face, the decorations on his wall coming into sharp focus. At least he was distracted, that was good. Okami's company was nice.

He watched every movement Yuu made after he said that. He could already tell that his friend was mad with him, and he had good reason to be too! "But uh, I value you and your-OW!" The boy's fist collided with the skull of the dog's, and it hurt like hell.
"okay, I deserve that, and I'm sorry Yuu, if it helps I...wanted to learn first aid a few days ago. I just...forgot about asking you...no uh, no hard feelings yeah?" IT wasn't like he was insulting his medical ability, just their friendship! Hm, maybe they should spend more time together to reaffirm it.

The tone was no longer aggressive but more forlorn. Leaning away from Okami, Yuu stuffed his hands into the pockets of his pants, remaining in front of him, staring him down. A mad scientist? Is that really how Okami saw him? Did he know something Yuu didn't? Sometimes dumb stuff just dropped out of the blonde's mouth though, and Yuu sighed again.
“You wanna go do something? Or something.”
Something to break the awkward that filled the room.

Wow, he really hurt Yuu's feeling didn't he? Now the blonde felt bad. Watching the Kamizuru just staring at him and asking if he wanted to do something, Okami could only think of one thing that could probably fix all of this. Leaning onto Yuu he looked up with the most pathetic looking puppy dog eyes that would move even an Inuzuka at the boy. "I just wanna spend time with ya Yuu. We haven't had any real alone time while Chi was here. Maybe we can go out to eat?"
