After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
The most notable identifying trait of the Aburame clan—aside, of course, from the insects they use—is their clothing choice. Their eyes are generally always obscured, usually by dark glasses, their clothing tending to be loose and long, concealing most of their body.
background
In the early beginnings, the Aburame and the Kikaichu beetles were did not go hand in hand. The kikaichu were a wild swarm of mass destruction, aimlessly travelling along and consuming chakra sources in its wake until their meal collapsed or their colony was fed. This killed many people. A black swarm that emitted a high-pitched scree would send chills down anyone's back. It was an Aburame clan member who saw the potential in these insects. Using the clan's ability to communicate with insects and arachnids, he hunted down a swarm of these insects, and offered to them his chakra. He told them that, in exchange for the insects' strength and obedience, he'd give them a hive to live in and a limitless chakra supply to live on.
It was a crude beginning. The insects would bore at the man's clothes, his skin, searching for chakra pathways. Pain reduced him to fuzzy tears, but it would work, it had to. Many early Aburame were disfigured as they learned techniques for turning their bodies into hives. Some Aburame just weren't capable of housing insects in their bodies, some were repulsed. But it worked. The simple exchange had given the clan a force of destruction that could be controlled on a whim. A living, breathing, writhing mass of power that could aid them in survival as well. A home and some food was little to ask for in trade.
As generations grew on, the Aburame found it was easier implanting kikaichu into newborn children, generally a single queen beetle and her mate. Monitoring as the child grew, the colony would slowly multiply under the Aburame elder's watch in each child, the child slowly learning to control the miniature monsters within them.
The Aburame had become one of the four Noble clans in Konoha. The method of utilizing insects in battle had been perfected. Those who couldn't house the insects in their body could use a specialized gourd attached to their back that seeped chakra to the insects inside, or those who had an overabundance of insects could also use the same kind of gourd to house insects that didn't fit within the body.
legacy of power
A noble clan of Konoha, known for it's use of Kikaichuu in battle. The Aburame have a symbiotic relationship with the kikaichu beetles, trading a home and food (body and chakra) in exchange for control of the swarm. Kikaichu beetles are intensely destructive, given enough time can chew through materials such as steel and stone, making short work of anything softer. They can drain the chakra from targets and hosts, and each insect carries the same chakra signature as its own host. Aburame are immune to genjutsu, not in the fact that they can't see the illusion, because they do, but in the fact that the kikaichu's brain is so simple that it cannot be affected by genjutsus. If something out of place is happening and the kikaichu are not responding to the environment, it is likely that it is an illusion.
Kikaichu beetles react to the emotions of their host, becoming agitated when the host is agitated, and relaxed when the host is happy. They can choose to attack on their own, should the Aburame be less skilled at controlling them, and the cause of irritation great enough.
Male kikaichu have an extraordinary sense of smell, far greater than any tracking dog. The female of this species releases a hormone that only the males can smell, and by planting a female on a target, the target can be tracked.
It is dangerous for the Aburame's body should their hive become destroyed. Having been in a relationship with the insects since birth, suddenly losing them would be like losing any other fundamental system of the body. Should the host be without chakra for an extended period of time, hence starving the insects, they can potentially turn their mandibles into their host's flesh in search for nutrients.
The Aburame utilize four different types of insects. It should be noted that of the kikaichu, kidaichu, and dokumishi, any one Aburame host can carry up to two different types of insects, with the exception of those whom are incompatible with any one type of insect.
Bikouchuu Beetle
The bikouchuu is an insect that was once used by the Aburame clan in the great ninja wars. It was becoming an endangered species, however, so they let it live in a special bug habitat, uninhabited by humans. Two of the female's distinguishing traits are its long nose and its blue eyes, but a giant bug-like creature that looks exactly like it is sometimes confused with the real thing. It also has an incredible sense of smell, stronger than even that of a dog.
Kidaichu Beetle
The kidaichu are a species of beetle-like insects that are bred and utilized by select members of the Aburame clan as part of their Parasitic Destruction Insect Technique. Though initially small in size, if provided with the incorrect amount of chakra, these insects immediately begin to devour the flesh of their host, causing them to undergo rapid growth to ultimately giant proportions. Aburame who are incompatible with the kikaichu will often use these beetles instead.
Kikaichu Beetle
The kikaichu are a species of small, beetle-like insects that are bred and utilized exclusively by the Aburame clan, forming the basis for their unique techniques.
Nanosaizu no Dokumushi
The nano-sized venom beetles are a special breed of insects used by selected members of the Aburame clan as part of their Parasitic Destruction Insect Technique. These bugs destroy their enemies' cells, causing excruciating pain in the process. Few Aburame are compatible with these insects and those who are go through immense pain controlling them as they are used very differently than the kikaichu.
Kikaichuu no Jutsu [Destruction Bug Technique] E || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || All || All
In exchange for feeding off the chakra the host's body provides, the kikaichu will perform the user's bidding and attack an opponent, capable of seeing out chakra or being utilized for other things such as jutsu.
Mushi Shita [Insect Tongue] E || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || Close || Supplementary
Always in effect, this allows the user to telepathically communicate to their kikaichu and other insects. Those with this jutsu should list it as an ability.
D RANK
Mushi Bunshin no Jutsu [Insect Clone Technique] D || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || Close || All
A secret technique exclusive to the Aburame clan, where thousands of kikaichuu are gathered in one place to take on the appearance of the user or anyone else the user wishes. The technique is elaborate enough to be mistaken for the original, and therefore may be used as a decoy or as part of a diversionary tactic. Furthermore, since one can put the insects in standby somewhere beforehand and then have them assume the form of the clone, this technique is arguably even more effective than the [Shadow Clone Technique], depending on the task. The clone falls apart into its component bugs when struck. Because it's made of bugs, it can reform almost instantly.
By having the insects attach to each other, they can form a rather strong length of rope which can be used for various temporary purposes. Con: Susceptible to elements, strong pulling force, and explosions.
Mushi Yose no Jutsu [Insect Gathering Technique] D || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || Close-Mid || Supplementary
After forming the needed handseals, the user will place their hand to a surface, across which a web-like chakra extends, luring nearby insects to that web, following it to the source.
Bōsui no Jin [Spindle Formation] D || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || Close-Mid || Offensive
The user has their bugs attack the target in a spiralling motion in order to stop the enemy from retaliating. It works as a restraint, and because the insects are constantly moving, it is difficult to pull free from the bonds.
C RANK
Hijutsu: Mushi Miyu [Secret Technique: Insect Cocoon] C || JUTSU TYPE || ELEMENT || RANGE || USE
One of the more useful techniques available to members of the Aburame clan, this technique allows the user to increase the speed of the insects’ development. Since the user’s body already acts as a hive, the user will coat themselves in an actual cocoon to further aid the kikaichu. This proves useful as it increases the amount of kikaichu available to the user. The user needs to be wrapped in some sort of external material that covers the entire body, which will help block out sight and sound and help the Aburame focus on their kikaichu within themselves. Con: This leaves the user immobile and vulnerable to attack, thus using this in battle can be potentially dangerous.
Mushi Jamingu no Jutsu [Insect Jamming Technique] C || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || All || Supplementary
To hide their presence from sensor ninja, the Aburame clan member will disperse their insects through the air and the surrounding area. Because these insects will share similar chakra to their host, the numerous multiple chakra targets with confuse the sensor to hide the Aburame's true location.
Mushi Kabe no Jutsu [Insect Wall Technique] C || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || Close || Defensive
Expelling a large number of kikaichu, the user has the insects form a wide protective dome, flying at high speeds to create a whirling vortex capable of deflecting projectile weapons. Con: Susceptible to explosive attacks, fire, and ice.
Tetsuzankō [Iron Mountain Leaning] C || Hiden Taijutsu || N/A || Close || Offensive
After creating an insect clone, the user and the clone run towards the opponent and simply tackle them. The force of this attack is strong enough to send the target flying away from them.
Using the kikaichu, the user disperses their insects across a wide area surrounding the target. These insects will coalesce at once into a sphere that will completely envelop the target. Minimizing the target's movements, the insects can quickly drain the target's chakra.
The user's kikaichu form a funnel that traps the opponent, spins them around violently, then throws them away.

Hijutsu: Mushitatsumaki [Secret Technique: Insect Tornado] A || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || All || Offensive
This technique covers the enemy's entire body with the kikaichū living inside the Aburame clan member's body. The chakra-sensing kikaichū spread over a wide range, and the moment they locate the enemy, the insects, following the user's orders, gather at once completely surrounding the target creating a fast-moving tornado that will seemingly disintegrate the target.
S RANK
Nanosukeeru Doku Konchuu [Nanoscale Poisonous Insects] S || Hiden Ninutsu || N/A || Close || Offensive
A select few members of Aburame are compatible with and use these insects. Instead of kikaichu, the user houses microscopic poisonous insects in their body which can be transferred through skin contact. Upon infecting the target, the cells attacked by these insects will be destroyed, causing great pain upon the target. The clan members whom utilize these insects also possess the antibodies needed to heal their victims. Should a comrade become infected, they can remove the insects by touching the damaged area. Clan members utilizing this technique will often remove some clothes and disperse the insects throughout their body, greatly increasing the surface area to transfer and infect victims.
Kodoku no Jutsu [Jar of Poison Technique] S || Hiden Kekkai Ninjutsu || N/A || All || Offensive
Only usable with the nano-scale venomous insects, this jutsu requires multiple corpses gathered as a food source, be they human or animal. The user will completely cover these corpses with their venomous insects, infecting them. The user will then form a barrier over the infected corpses, and the bodies release a gas that will ignite an explosion, dispersing the venomous insects over a wide area. The barrier accelerates the insects' multiplication.
Kidaichū Mushikui [Parasitic Giant Insect Bug Bite ] S || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || All || Offensive
Following an Aburame clan member placing a number of kidaichū onto the skin of an enemy, these insects immediately burrow into the victim's body and begin to devour its flesh and chakra. This process causes the insects to grow rapidly in size, until the host body is completely eaten away from the inside out.
Dokujin no Jutsu [Poison Cloud Technique] S || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || Close-Mid || Offensive
The user puts their hands together to form a small poisonous smokescreen sphere from their nano-sized venomous insects between their hands, the user can then blow the smokescreen across the area in front of them, the poisonous smokescreen when spread gets bigger. If touched or inhaled, it is a guaranteed fatality.
