After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
Standing at five foot five, Hayato isn't the tallest of individuals, but he's also not the shortest. He sports a dark bluish-purple hair that looks black in dimmer light, and very pale lavender eyes. His hair is messy and shaggy in front and around the head, but on the lower part of the back it's allowed to grow long, bound with an elastic at the base of the neck. In his eyes, he wears decorative scope crosshair contacts, for nothing more than an amusing joke on himself concerning the visual prowess of his clan. His skintone is fair, and he wears a slightly short short-sleeved beige hooded sweatshirt with a long black t-shirt underneath. Around his neck is a long necklace with three green pendants, with the middle being the longest, hanging from it. This necklace is almost always out, but he will tuck it inside his shirt if he feels it may get in the way of what he's doing. Around his forearms, about halfway down to his fingers, his arms are wrapped in sport bindings, helping his hands and wrists stay stabilized when he practices or performs his Jyuuken techniques. For pants, Hayato wears long dark blue pants, with his headband tied around the left thigh. His shoes are a similar color to his pants, close-toed and waterproof. His hip pouch is on the left hip, kunai holster on the right thigh. On his right hip he sports a second hip pouch, filled exclusively with superballs.
Personality
Hayato is a fun-loving guy who likes to bring life to a party. He's a bit rowdy and rambunctious, but it's really all in good fun. It never shows on his face if he's upset, so unless you're close to him, it may be hard to notice if something's wrong. Because of the ability to hide what's on his mind, this makes him a smooth liar, good for both pranks and negotiating on a mission. When he is upset, he vents by practicing his taijutsu at the dojo or by talking to his birds, but never talking it out with another person. He wants to maintain the image of the happy-go-lucky guy that can be relied on.
While childish a lot of the time, Hayato can act his age very well, and is good at acting any part he needs to, really, to accomplish a task. Should conflict arise, however, he will not so much as hesitate using his jyuuken and subdue the aggressor. However if hand-to-hand isn't the way to go, he will also opt for trickery. If he is in an indoor area, it's a simple matter to pull out some superballs. The enemy will get confused sometimes by the toy, and several of them bouncing off the walls can be highly distracting. Now, add in ones that explode, and you have yourself a fine mess of chaos. Even when not in battle, he will often bounce the balls as a mild entertainment when bored or waiting on something, sometimes getting himself teased for still playing with children's toys. When he's in an area where he's unable to bounce his superballs to alleviate boredom, he will often find a stick or similar object and sketch on the ground.
When he's at home, he likes to keep to a table in his room, doing sketches and watercolors, most often of his two birds but also of things around the room or in the yard outside, even of other people; the world is a great subject of study. He will also draw for people if he finds a visual demonstration would be easier than trying to explain an idea be it in a sketchpad or with a stick in the dirt.
History
If you were to ask, Hayato would say he grew up well. Sure, he was picked on now and then for being a “white-eyed freak,” but that came with the territory of being part of the small immigrant group of Hyuuga settled in Kirigakure. And sure, maybe they did put mice in his clothes, and maybe they did make him cry... alright, so there are a few bugs to work out of his story. But still, that's not how the tale is supposed to go. Tell it like it is, as Hayato likes to say.
Hayato grew up to two loving parents in the village of Mist, enjoying the company of all of the other house children. Until he was five, Hayato had never left the Hyuuga sect of the village, and suddenly, he'd been thrust into the world of the shinobi without warning. At first, Hayato didn't know what to do. He was confused. Kids picked on himself and others like him for having weird, blank eyes. Well, he'd stick his tongue out and say they were weird for having weird colored ones. Naturally, this did did not improve his standing with anyone. In fact, it only made it worse.
At home, Hayato was trained in the arts of his clan, learning how to control his Byakugan and use the palm techniques that came with it. However, he was taught to never use it indiscriminately against his own allies, meaning he never used it against the bullies who held him down and hit him for talking back to them. At some point, they would start holding him down, putting live creatures like worms, beetles, even mice into his clothes, where they would wriggle, scratch, and bite. It took a lot of willpower not to attack them, but he was merely a child, and these children were older and outnumbered him.
At one time, they cornered him when he was playing near a civilian kindergarten. Grasping around for something to protect himself with, Hayato's young hand grasped a rubber ball and flung it as hard as he could against the gang leader's head. Not only did it collide; but it ricocheted off and hit another one in the head. The confusion was just enough for the young Hyuuga to get to his feet and escape. Who knew bouncy balls made such an efficient weapon?
Afterward, Hayato was more aggressive towards keeping bullies away, and since he started fighting back, they started leaving him alone, looking for weaker prey. Without the harassment of being picked on, Hayato managed to increase his performance during his last year of the academy, and graduated to become a genin in a squad. This was all just as well; the teammates were nice and Hayato couldn't help but notice he was starting to crush on their male sensei (not that he ever told the man). He was a strong and handsome guy, so of course that was to be expected. Probably.
Hayato worked well with his teammates, and when they were fifteen, their sensei submitted them to the chuunin exams. Unfortunately, their team had been disqualified in the second round due to a strategy error. The following year, they were submitted again, more prepared this time. It was difficult, but two of the three managed to pass; the second male on the team having lost in the third round.
Once becoming a chuunin, Hayato chose to deviate from normal shinobi life and teach at the academy for four years. But, compared to the more exciting genin life, that had bored him. Speaking with the Mizukage, Hayato ran through the qualification tests that would allow him to become a jounin. He didn't make the full cut, but was satisfied at becoming a tokubetsu jounin. This meant he could teach genin, exactly what he wanted to do, and exactly what he did do.
i. Byakugan: Byakugan provides the user a near-360° field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the third thoracic vertebra. With this vision, the Hyuuga can see through solid objects, and can use a degree of telescopic sight up to a maximum standard distance of fifty meters. However, by holding a single seal (tiger), the user may enter a "focused" state and increase their range up to a maximum of five kilometers; they must remain still during this enhanced sight, and due to their attention (and sight) being well beyond their immediate surroundings, are quite vulnerable to assaults.
Finally, one of the greatest uses of the Byakugan is the ability to see chakra, chakra flow as well as the chakra circulation system inside the body with great detail. It is from this particular ability that they are able to employ their ultimate attack style - the Gentle Fist.
ii. Chakra Control: Because Hayato attacks by pushing chakra into the the chakra points of the enemy's system, he's learned to fine-tune his control so that he does not push too much or too little, especially since the chakra system of every individual is different.
iii. Enhanced Agility: Hayato is extremely flexible and quick, able to dodge and attack his opponents with pinpoint accuracy.
iv. Recall: While not photographic, Hayato has an excellent short-term visual memory, and once he's seen it, he can replicate it on paper if done within hours of having seen whatever the thing is. This is useful for transferring information he saw while using his Byakugan. However, unless it was especially memorable, it will fade from his memory just as anything else would.
