After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
It being a simple attack at her from above, Amaya began jumping backwards backwards to dodge it, holding up her arms up to block the rocks. She got a couple of scratches and scrapes from blocking the rocks. She hopped off the ground and landed on the side of a tree, using her learned skills to stand on it. The genin used her hearing and what she could see to try and follow where the dog was digging, as well as planning to use the tree to keep out of immediate reach of the dog.
Shikashu leaned against a tree nearby with his arms folded across his chest. Knowing his partner, he was certain she was going to take this opportunity to get down wind, and likely out of sight, so she could more easily 'sniff out the competition'. It'd be easy enough for her to accomplish seeing as these two didn't exactly work much at all like a team. "Inori is a Yamanaka and Amaya an Uchiha. As I expected, those two clans don't seem to mix well, but..." Shikashu mused to himself, "Inori especially should know that she needs to exercise quite a bit of teamwork for her techniques to work." His hazel eyes scanned the trees, 'What exactly is she planning?'
Shirokage, hidden by thick foliage of the woods, dug her way to the surface near the roots of a large tree. Once there she turned her nose to the wind and closed her eyes for a moment as she listened and tasted the flavors of the wind. There were certainly flavors in the breeze that did not commonly belong in this forest. Three others that were quite strong and then a myriad others that were significantly weak. Those strong ones though, it was safe to assume they were her partner, Shikashu, Inori, and Amaya. So which of them was it that was closest? Definitely the sweeter of the scents, and judging based on Amaya's appearance, it likely wasn't her. So Inori perhaps? She'd have to follow it to know for sure. So she would, making sure to remain as silent as possible for a dog moving through the trees like some sort of deranged monkey.
Shirokage came above ground near the roots of a tree closer to Inori than Amaya, and is likely hidden from Amaya's view. Currently she exercises stealth as she leaps through the trees following the strongest and sweetest of the scents of those present to likely find Inori.

would someone care to classify our broken hearts and twisted minds
Inori had to bite back a sigh as Shirokage disappeared from her line of sight. She'd given Amaya one job. One job! Was it really that hard to keep the dog occupied for a few minutes without letting her run off?
The blonde leaned back against the trunk of her tree, deep in thought. Logically, Shiro would be looking for her, because at the moment she was the unknown variable due to her actions. So she cast out her senses, searching for the dog's chakra signature; if Shiro was anywhere within two hundred and fifty meters, she would know about it. Shikashu's was the largest, obviously, and she knew to ignore it; the one moving away from her, further into the forest, was most likely Amaya's. Its size surprised her a bit; well, now she knew that her teammate had above average reserves. Really, that was something the girl should've mentioned, but oh well.
The third signature was moving toward her; that was definitely Shiro, presumably tracking her scent. Inori fished a smoke bomb out of her hip pouch and cradled it in her hand. This was supposed to be a teamwork exercise, so she wasn't even going to try to get a hit in on the dog by herself. Once the akita appeared, she was going to toss the smoke bomb and head toward Amaya to regroup and try something else.
