After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
Vivvian is a griffon vulture, a little on the small side as far as the birds go. She weighs fourteen pounds, is three feet two inches from her beak to tailfeathers, and has a wingspan of seven feet eight inches. Her round eyes are a reddish-hued brown with a dark grey-black beak. Her head is covered with a soft fluffy white down, and she has a poofy white ruff at the base of her neck. Her body is a pretty uniform tannish-brown, lighter on the belly and darker on the back. Her flight feathers and tailfeathers are the darkest. The feathers on her belly are long, and nearly cover the fluffy white down on her legs that extend into light grey scaly feet, ending with blunt talons that are two and a half inches long.
Vivvian is quite friendly despite her appearance, loving to be stroked. She has quite the fondness for her master, and often tries to sit on Nayami's head. Naturally, due to her size, this is often not appreciated and unsuccessful but it does not deter her from trying. Often she'll give in and resign to perching on the shoulders or on a pack if Nayami is carrying one. She's very obedient to Nayami's whims and is quite respondent to nuggets of fresh meat.
It's no joke to say that Vivvian is one smart cookie. She's capable of thinking on her own and making judgment calls. She knows better than to poop on people. She can follow orders issued by Nayami, and while she cannot vocalize beyond hissing, she's been trained in other methods of communication, such as plucking a feather and presenting it; a different type of feather relaying a different message. She is usually sent to retrieve small objects (vultures have blunt talons and rather weak legs, so they cannot carry heavy things, but conversely have powerful beaks), or she is sent to track and follow specific targets.
Like many vultures, Vivvian has a superb sense of smell, even moreso than the common birds, and can scent something from over two miles away. This makes her rather valuable for tracking something that's in a relatively nearby vicinity. Or, just finding something pretty smelly.
Like other raptor birds, Vivvian has an extraordinary sense of vision that rivals her sense of smell. She is able to detect movement while very high in the air, having a field of vision upwards of eleven-thousand acres at a given time. If she locates something she is looking for, she will dive towards it or towards Nayami to alert the woman and guide her towards the thing that is being looked for.
Like all other vultures, Vivvian has a highly corrosive and acidic stomach. It's designed to kill any sort of bacteria that enters her body to prevent her from becoming ill from eating ripe dead things, but she's also capable of projectile-vomiting the fluid which is strong enough to corrode metal. It would be akin to getting hot acid splashed in your face decorated with bits of decayed meat.
While highly unappealing, the waste of a vulture is highly sterilized and contains those powerful gastric acids. This waste can destroy pathogens and other bacteria that can be harmful to other creatures and contaminate food and water. It can also be used in emergency sterilization situations as urine can, however it is much more potent and, strangely, healthier, even if it is pretty gross.
