After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
While its origins reside within the teachings of the primordial ANBU body within the developing villages in early days, the Becoming Darkness style is anything but outdated. Often times, techniques under this teaching's style have gone without a name, as they have been taught without knowing their origins since the end of the First Shinobi World War. In short, this is the repertoire used by the most dedicated of ANBU members in the lines of doing what the black ops were trained to do: eliminate shinobi threats at all cost. Because of this, just as most agents are well versed in the human body and mind, many of this style's techniques require such refined knowledge of human beings. To master all of these techniques is to become an enemy to mankind, so to speak, resulting in an agent who is able to attack their opponents in ways never thought imaginable; to become darkness.
ANBU ONLY
HAISHIN [BETRAYING SEALS] D-RANK || NINJUTSU || SHORT RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
Were an ANBU agent to lock hands with another shinobi's, all it would take is a firm and dexterous gesture with the user's hand in order to manipulate the opponent's fingers. Through this method, the user can perform hand seals with both their own hand and the hand of their enemies. This strategy is best used with other techniques that the opponent most likely will not know, as the forcing of their hand may inadvertently activate a jutsu of their own. The technique's explicit use of hand seals marks this as a ninjutsu in nature.
ITENDŌ [SINGLE POINT PROVIDENCE] C-RANK || NINJUTSU || SHORT-MID RANGE || OFFENSIVE
With knowledge of the human body, an ANBU agent is wise of where all one's weak spots may be. This includes the nerve bundles of the body, convergent points within the body where nerves meet. The ANBU innate knowledge of the body has given them an approximate guess as to where each of these points would reside within their opponents. To attack these bundles with pinpoint accuracy, a chakra-insertion is delivered to the general area around these nerves, disorienting them. While normally such strikes do little more than cause great pain and make an opponent's movements weaker and sluggish, there exists a point at the connecting point between the head and neck that--if struck--can result in one being knocked unconscious for around five minutes. This is often how ANBU agents are capable of knocking even stronger shinobi out with one decisive blow, usually requiring stealth to approach the opponent's vulnerable point. Close range is not the only form of combat that this technique effects, however; tiny precise senbon can also be thrown to attack these sensitive spots on the opponent's body. If the neck's sensitive point is impaled by the needle, it has the potential to leave the afflicted target in a state of false death so long as the needles remain in place.
KUROCHIYOSE NO JUTSU [BLACK SUMMONING TECHNIQUE] C-RANK || NINJUTSU || SHORT RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
This is the ANBU's specialized form of the Summoning Technique, named for its specific use in the black ops. As summoning contracts are signed and bound in blood, the black ops agents have devised a means of forming a temporary contract with one another. Simply using another's blood as a catalyst in drawing a summoning seal, this technique allows the user to summon that person to the user's location. However, just with the normal Summoning Technique, the afflicted target is able to refute being transported, making the technique ineffectual against summoning willingly antagonistic individuals to their current location. This is an often used technique among ANBU agents, allowing the black ops to retrieve the corpses of their fallen brethren, or to simply escort a colleague safely and secretively home from a mission.
BUNSHUNSHIN NO JUTSU [CLONE BODY FLICKER TECHNIQUE] C-RANK || NINJUTSU || SHORT-MID RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
A simple combination technique devised by the ANBU, one that combines the basic Clone Technique and the Body Flicker Technique, combining their hand seals to perform this ninjutsu. Just as the user would perform the high speed movement, their body seeming to flicker out of sight, dozens of other flickering forms will manifest, making it seem as if the user has split into many different moving individuals. This compensates for the opponent being able to keep up with the user's movements, instead disorienting them with the sudden introduction of many other speeding targets to track. However, the clones themselves do not hold any physical form to harm the opponent with, and will only move at such high speeds if and when the user does. The end result is not only the user changing positions at great speed, but also diverts the opponent's attention, making for a near guaranteed getaway from basic enemies or an effective way to disorient a weak minded target.
CHAKASE [DISRUPTION SHACKLE] C-RANK || NINJUTSU|| MID-LONG RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
Knowing all too well that the enemy can use chakra, one alternative to subduing and defeating them is through removing their ability to release it. This is done through a blunt yet effective manner. By releasing a mass of chakra from their hands at a considerable rate, all one must do is make contact with the opponent. The released energy works to interfere with the release of chakra from any tenketsu that is touched. As most ANBU cannot tell where these pressure points are specifically in the body, the technique's effectiveness is limited to very specific parts of the target's anatomy; their hands/wrists, forearms, necks, foreheads, and stomach. These areas posses numerous amounts of tenketsu, all of which coordinate with the molding and control of it (hands and arms form hand seals, the head and neck direct the flow of chakra through the body, and the stomach is where created chakra initiates from.) Maintaining contact with any of these parts will restrain the opponent's ability to utilize chakra with them, though doing so without physical resistance on the enemy's part is practically impossible without previously crippling them. Maintaining the technique is a great way to keep an opponent open for a follow up attack, as is the ANBU way.
NŌZURUGOKE NO JUTSU [MIND PETRIFICATION TECHNIQUE] B-RANK || NINJUTSU || SHORT RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
An advancement on the often used Body Paralysis Technique, one that has improved on its capabilities. Rather than targeting the body with one's chakra, paralyzing the opponent's muscles with the bombardment of energy, the ANBU member will instead target the opponent's mind. Chakra is released in a high frequency manner directly at the head of the opponent within close range after the user makes three hand seals, bombarding their brain with an onslaught of harmful energy. These supposed 'steel ropes' of the parent technique seem to bind the target's mind in a vice, temporarily disorienting them of their thought process, and thus their ability to recognize their surroundings. While it may not be true paralysis, to halt the mind of the opponent is to leave them far more open than if their movements were simply restrained. However, its lasting effectiveness is dependent on the skill of the user. On top of this, the technique is an unfortunate one time use for the most part; if an opponent is specifically prepared to be faced with the technique moments before being afflicted, their focus and willpower can overcome the disorienting effects of the ninjutsu.
NENTŌMON [MIND GATE] B-RANK || NINJUTSU || SHORT RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
Originating from The Leaf's Intelligence Division, the world has overtime assimilated the ability to tap into the mind of another being through physical contact and chakra, its practice now a common part of the ANBU occupation. A steady flow of chakra is released into the living target's head as to spark activity in the memory-related lobes. Chakra relays between the mind of the target and the mind of the user, gradually sending signals of thoughts and memories as time passes. Without proper measures taking place, such as incapacitating the target, this process may take minutes or hours, depending on how specific the information being sought is. Even memories once forgotten can be recalled through the technique's use. However, given how arduous and draining a process this is, a black op agent would find this technique useless in the field of combat, instead leaving its practice for those outside the line of battle. It is this very technique that has made the practice of suicide common in the intelligence war of the ANBU black ops.
CHIKARA NO HAZURE [FAILURE OF POWER] B-RANK || NINJUTSU || SHORT RANGE || OFFENSIVE/DEFENSIVE
While seeming to be taijutsu, the technique's secret lies in the proper use of chakra rather than physical movements. The user relies on their ability to dodge and divert the attacks of their opponents alongside of a release of chakra. This chakra enters the opponent's body through physical contact, usually fleeting in the case of close quarter combat, with the aim to increase the strength and force of the exerted muscles. When the strike misses, the overextension provided by the chakra causes the opponent's muscles to strain and even tear. The end result leaves the user relatively defended from the attack, while the opponent is damaged by their own inaccuracy, usually left writhing in pain on the ground. This technique has incapacitated a great number of shinobi, and is especially potent when used within the confusion of enemy crowds. However, as physical actions are a requirement of the technique, one's ability to dodge and divert the opponent is not guaranteed by use of this ninjutsu.
KUROMERU NO JUTSU [BECOMING DARKNESS TECHNIQUE] A-RANK || NINJUTSU || SHORT RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
Only an ANBU agent who possesses tremendous bloodlust or urge to kill is capable of using the technique, as softer hearted agents will find its use to be without merit. This is a technique requiring precise timing of one's chakra release, and can only be performed within intimate quarters of another shinobi. With a burst of chakra from multiple tenketsu across their body, the user's body seems to temporarily enveloped in smoking blackness. This darkness is the user's chakra tainted by their darkest emotions, filling those who are within meters of its pitch with a sense of dread and danger. The technique is designed to display the full killing intent of the ANBU black ops, and will often times stun or knock unconscious those afflicted by its sheer vileness. How effective the technique is depends on the opponent's focus on the user; the more distracted and unprepared an opponent is for such a display, the more receptive they are to its effects. Thus, an opponent who is prepared for this will find themselves relatively unaffected, though their body may still shake due to the influx of negative emotion--lest they themselves are just as dark. While effective in nature, it is a technique of short duration: a single burst is all that the technique provides, staying true to the nature of the ANBU in a short-lived yet effective means of making an opening in the opponent's defenses.
