After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
► Odd Features: ghostly white skin with green tear marks
► Description: Akui and Urami share a great many things when it comes to just about every aspect of their two forms, this even includes similarities in their appearance. The great many similarities are the basics of their appearance from their incredible pale, as if sickly, skin to the build of their body being that of a lanky, swift runner rather than that of a fighter. They also share the same black hair that falls over their face in similar manners as one another with bangs that reach slightly past their chin. Typically their hair falls so that a small section covers the ridge of their nose while the rest frames their face perfectly. Also another thing that doesn’t change between their forms is the fact that they have large leathery black bat wings. These wings are actually large enough to completely cover their form when folded just right and have a total wingspan of about twelve feet. They also have an incredibly long, slender, leathery tail that appears very much akin to a devil’s tail.
However, despite their many similarities, the two also have their differences. Akui for instance prefers to remain in such a state that he is capable of having the most maneuverability and mobility possible. As such he wears little to no clothing which allows much of his body to be exposed to the elements. As such his chest is constantly bare allowing mortals to gaze upon the large hole between his collar bones revealing the fact that he indeed does not have a heart. Of course since much of his body is bare thus allowing people to see that much of his body is covered in fur; from his entire lower body being covered in fur, so most of his arms, biceps and below, being covered in the fluff. However to go with this, much of his body also appears to be covered in straps and chains giving him much of the appearance of having once been bound.
personality
Akui is the much more critical one out of the two. While Urami prefers to take his time, Akui has no patience what-so-ever. As such whenever he is permitted to do as he pleases, Akui often leaves death and destruction in his wake. Which can definitely say something about his character.
Akui has a strong fondness for hearing people scream and will often go out of his way to slowly break someone if he gets to just hear them scream their heads off (literally and figuratively). However if he so happens to grow bored of torturing a mortal he will often choose to end their suffering by ripping from them something he never had. That's right, Akui likes to play with the hearts of mortals, quite literally actually. Since he has a strong craving and desire for blood, he often times chooses to murder people by ripping their hearts out of their chest cavities.
As most people can probably figure, Akui is the sort of guy that simply goes based off of impulse. As such he is often thought to be thoughtless, which is actually far from the truth. In fact, Akui can prove to be quite the conversationalist, that is if a mortal happen to hold his interest enough for him to allow them to continue living in his presence.
capabilities
PATHS
PRIMARY PATH: Soul
SECONDARY PATH: Mind
TERTIARY PATH: Body
SPECIAL ABILITIES
NIGHTMARES COME TO LIFE Akui constantly emits night chakra into his surroundings causing the area to become corrupted by his presence. As the area becomes corrupted people in that area become more susceptible to illusions and trickery. People affected by the corruption are likely to become extremely uneasy as they start to feel as though they are constantly being watched.
SWIFT FLIGHT Thanks to his large wings and tail, Akui is capable of not only flight, but rather speed flight. Meaning with a strong beat of his wings he is capable of sharply changing directions, or shooting off like a bullet.
DELAYED REGENERATION Because his body is simply a mass of night chakra taken on a physical form, over time his body is capable of regenerating itself. As such over a period of weeks he could regenerate missing limbs, however if he needed to regenerate something more vital, he would have to return to his place of 'birth' within the roots of the Divine Tree and remain inactive during his time of healing. As this would suggest he heals much quicker in this location due to the potency of the night chakra in the surrounding area.
This does not mean he is incapable of dying, but rather far from it. It just simply means that he heals quicker than normal, and if he is not directly slain in combat, that he is more likely to rebound after a defeat that a normal mortal. It is also because of this ability that he refers to others as mortals.

However, despite their many similarities, the two also have their differences. Urami for instance prefers to remain covered up and in the shadows. As such he does much to cover up his form only allowing his head and wings to remain exposed. While retaining the same build as Akui, which much of his body covered in fur, he instead prefers to wear clothing that would make him more socially accepted. In this state he also attains normal human feet and hands, allowing him a vast variety of clothing options. His favorite attire being that of a black long sleeved coat-like top worn slightly baggy but fastened to his form with many belts and latches leaving the only free area being the split open back allowing his wings to be free. With this he wears dark gray, jean-like, trousers that fall in folds over top of his leather boots.
Every now and then, along with this, Urami chooses to don a purely white version of this attire along with a white featureless mask that covers his face leaving virtually only his eyes visible.
personality
Urami is quiet and cunning. He prefers the art of espionage over blatantly destroying everything he detests. He prefers his own methods to the point that he often argues with his counter side, and often only allows his counter to move freely if there is no other way around something, or if he determines something to not be worth his 'precious time'.
Speaking of precious time, yes, time is extremely important to Urami. While Akui often jeers at him for taking his time, Urami believes that everything that is worth while will take time to reap the benefits from. As such he often moves with care. He takes into account results his actions may bring, and attempts to act accordingly. Of course not everything goes as planned, but Urami usually tries to have a backup just for such a scenario.
Unlike his counter, Urami never reveals his true motives. He tries to remain detached from the world while at the same time fitting in to the best of his ability. Urami prefers to play his part in this world as a background character, but also the one who pulls the puppet's strings. As such he will often greet mortals kindly and attempts to 'befriend' mortals rather than offend them.

It is also because of this ability that he refers to others as mortals.
Long ago humans sought their own salvation from the menace of the Bijuu threat. They devised tactics, horrid methods, and eventually came up with sacrifices. They would dare send the Bijuu back to their Gods, and with them, the humans they were sealed within. Only they could never fathom that their methods of creating their own salvation would be what would ultimately lead to their own down fall. For as the man and beasts were slain one by one, the chakra that was contained within their forms became corrupted with horrid malice, and as they fell it spread out into the world.
The humans wouldn’t know, until it was too late, the horror that they had unleashed onto the world. For once that chakra took root within the Divine Tree it was given form; it was given thought, an identity, and lastly, a drive. It would bring the downfall of the human race as we knew it. That was its one goal. That was its one derivative. Only it itself wouldn’t know just how difficult that would be.
He was given two identities, made to keep each other in check. One was rash and would certainly destroy everything without a second thought. The other was calm, cruel, and always calculating. Together the two inhabited the same being. Thus came to being Akui and Urami, a being made entirely of corrupted chakra known forever as the Chakra of Night or Kuraiton. With their large wings they would take flight into the first night of their lives, and they would begin to seek out a way to sow the seed of man’s destruction.
He spent a great long time observing man, and gathering what intelligence he could. He interacted with man only where needed in order to better observe various situations to see how man would respond. However, for the most part, he remained a figure in the shadows simply watching as man attempted to persevere. Only there was always something blocking man’s path, keeping him from moving forward. That something was man itself, and to the corrupted soul of Akui and Urami, it was amusing. So he figured, why not have some fun? After all, the hearts of man were so easily corrupted. Thus he began to pull strings, and watch as the pieces fell into place.
He would empower pawns of man and play them to do his bidding. He would cause the demise of rulers, over and over. He would watch as their subjects ran about in dismay. It was all so amusing, but at the same time, it all became repetitive. After time, he grew bored. He began to search for a new way to destroy man, and eventually the thought came. Why not sow the seed for man’s self-destruction? Only for that to work, he would need a literal seed. So he returned to his mother, the Divine Tree, and from her reaped the seed that would allow him to bring back to the world what man had forsaken.
So began his quest. He sought out the tombs of the powerful nine, where their chakra gathered in masses, and before long, he would revive them. He would bring them back to their glory. That was his one goal… for now.
it was their hope for salvation that would cause the beginning of the end
