After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.

He cringed as he heard the anger come from her lips. She sure could be mean when she wanted. Guess that was a perk of being half cat. "Okay so popcorn is out of the picture. How about some cotton candy then! Its big and fluffy and sugar packed, and I'm not taking no for an answer!" The boy exclaimed as he rushed over to a man pulling a cart filled with the colorful fluff and ordered two blue ones, one for both him and the kitty, hiding his face and eyes from the girl so she couldn't figure out the real reason behind his gesture of kindness.
"C'mon take it, think of it as an apology. I know I said some things that ight have been...rude. We should try to get along yeah? For Yuu." If he wasn't nice he would probably never hear the end of it from the Kamizuru. "Perhaps we should go back home as well? We seem kinda done with all the shopping, and I am feeling a bit sleepy, how about you Chi?"

Chi took the giant ball of blue fluff-looking-stuff from Okami and examined it. She'd never had 'cotton candy' before... did it taste like cotton? Is that why it was called that? She made a face at the thought of eating sugary cotton. Tentatively, she poked at it, and then pulled a chunk off, sticking out her tongue to taste it. When it all but dissolved, she made a soft noise of interest and ripped off another hunk. Nom nom. "S'really good, Oka-nii," she purred.
The girl latched onto his arm and nuzzled him, probably leaving a bunch of fur on his shirt. "I'm not mad at you, I promise. Jus' don't be mean, okay?" By now, her face was covered in sticky blue candy floss crystals. "Yeah, let's go home. I had Yuu pick up some beef so I could cook later... His food is icky."

He couldn't help but smile at the sound the girl made when she tried the sweet treat. Even if Okami was more of a dog person he couldn't deny that cats could be cute sometimes. "Told you it was good." God she was too cute for her own good.
With her making the decision to go back Okami nodded and walked along with her, chuckling as she mentioned how icky Yuu's food could be. Oh how he could relate so much. "Tell me about it. Once time he tried to make some fancy ramen I told him about and I swear some of it came to life. Or was that when we tried to make meatloaf together. That guy's got some dead tastebuds if he can't even tell when food tastes bad you know? Has he tried to make you eat any of his cooking?"

Chi devoured the rest of the cotton candy and started trying to lick the crystals off her face. Unfortunately for the catgirl, her tongue wasn't quite long enough and she mostly just looked silly.
"He's been sticking to sandwiches 'cause I can't yell at him for messing those up." She was getting tired of sandwiches. Too much bread, not enough meaty goodness. The girl hooked her arm around one of Okami's and began to practically drag him toward Yuu's house. She wanted to get back and take a nice, long nap before she needed to cook.

Stuck with sandwiches? That was probably good, it would be a miracle if Yuu could somehow mess those up. Then again he could try and make a whole new sandwich that ended up growing a forest inside people's stomachs all because he thought something about adding sesame seeds would help. Yeah that was probably something that could happen only with that guy.
As Chi dragged him back to the house an idea came to Okami's mind, while their shopping trip could have gone better he knew of a way to probably make it end on a good note. "Hey, how about when we get back to Yuu's place I fix us up something to eat. I have been the one keeping Yuu alive with good food and not letting him go fat on instant ramen. What do ya say Chi? Want to have some three star restaurant quality food later?"

Chi's ears perked up. "Oka-nii can cook?" she marveled, eyes wide. From the look of him, and his goofy attitude, she wouldn't have expected that. But she wasn't going to say no to food she didn't have to cook. "Yeah!"

Did she seriously not know that? He thought they all cooked together one time. Did she have bad memory? Well it didn't matter, he was going to cook so they would need some ingredients depending on what Okami was going to make. Perhaps the kitty had an idea? "Okay but first before we go home. What would you like Chi? I can just about cook anything but we might need to get a few ingredients. Yuu doesn't really have a lot in his fridge aside from honey. So maybe some meat? Soup? Or something healthy like a salad or some fish?"

Chi considered that for a moment. "I like grilled salmon. It's yummy." She licked her lips. Beef was great and all, but fish was the tastiest. "An'... could have it with rice and a vegetable?" Personally, she found vegetables to be unnecessary most of the time, but (even though she didn't like to admit it) they were good for her.

"No problem Chi! Anything ya like I'll be happy to cook up." It would be nice to brush up on his skills as a chef. If he spent even a day without preparing something he was paranoid he would be rusty in no time flat. "I know a little market where we can get that sort of stuff, c'mon let's go!" He eagerly shouted as he grabbed the cat by the arm and pulled her along their merry way.

Chi followed Okami - not that she had much choice, since he was dragging her around - tail swishing excitedly. She could put up with a little more dragging if she got yummy fish out of it. "You can pick the veggies, Oka-nii," she told him. Hopefully, he wouldn't pick something gross.
