After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
Alias:Spiders in the Rice Paddies Country of Origin: Oto no Kuni Current Location: Otogakure
Members:
[Clan Leader]
CHARACTERISTICS
Most members of the Hyagumo do share similarly dark skin as well as dark hair, though given their heritage, such features can vary among its members. While some of its most notable members have undergone specialized surgeries that altered their bodies, these clan members typically appear similar to any other normal human. However, the clan heir is always gifted with a specific and rather dark surgery, one that adds a third eye to the forehead of the mentioned heir. This is to add an eye directly to the mind of its future leader, so that the clan may be led with the utmost clarity.
BACKGROUND
Starting as a closely related group of peasants within Oto no Kuni, those that were often caught in the crossfire of the feudal clan wars during the Warring States Era. They were not shinobi, although few had been especially blessed with great power, leading to many of these peasants to be killed off in the war. To save themselves, the Hyagumo clan members hid within the wilderness to escape the bloodshed, though eventually war would find them once more.
To adapt to the combat they would eventually face, the clan invented a style of fighting based on that of spiders and other arachnids; one that utilized one's own body fluids in a fight. When combined with chakra, one specialized to alter these fluids, the clan invented a type of Ninjutsu completely unique to themselves, winning their name a mark in the history books. Before the wars would end, the once-peasants would beat back the blades of their enemies, making themselves a compound within Oto no Kuni.
Years had passed, and with the establishment of Otogakure under the hand of a particular rogue ninja, the Hyagumo found themselves a home within its walls. Many of its clan members were taken and altered for the sake of experimentation, with the promise that those altered becoming the strongest warriors within the clan.
Despite the sound leader's passing, the Hyagumo continues this belief of body alteration, though those it affects are only those who either lead the clan, or will eventually lead the clan.
LEGACY OF POWER
Kumo Nenkin [Spider Sticky Gold]
The infamous Sticky Gold Hiden of the Hyagumo clan is one that utilizes the highly unique chakra of its members. When applied to one's body fluids, the liquids will be given special properties. There are two particular body fluids that are used within the clan's techniques, those being sweat and saliva.
When exposed to the clan's unique chakra, these fluids will take on a more viscous property like that of a liquified metal. This liquid is indeed a metal, one that will harden shortly after being exposed to the air. This metal is comparable to steel in its hardness, and given that it is saturated in the user's chakra, it can also effectively block chakra-based substances from simply passing through it. Before it hardens, the clan members will typically shape the metal into weapons or armor, creating an endless arsenal of tools at the user's disposal.
Kumo Nensō [Spider Sticky Web]
An alternative method to creating the liquid metal is to infuse less of the chakra into the fluids, creating a white and incredibly adhesive silk thread not unlike spiderweb. While not incredibly offensive or deadly in its use, the web works wonders to incapacitate one's victims, creating openings in their defenses for the Sticky Gold weapons to strike a deadly blow.
KUMO NENKINKEN [SPIDER STICKY BLADE] D-RANK || NINJUTSU || HIDEN || SHORT RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
Through one's sweat or spit, the user will mold bladed weaponry from the gum-like gold metal created from their fluids. The amount of metal created from this technique is only enough to create handfuls of shuriken and kunai or a tanto-like sword, but it makes up for its lack in size and numbers for an incredibly quick creation process. As it is made from chakra, so to speak, these weapons are naturally chakra reactive.
From either the user's mouth or their fingertips, spit-turned-web will extend as far as ten meters outward like a stream, aiming to touch and cling to an enemy or object. Once the connection is made, the sticky substance becomes incredibly difficult to remove without the use of chakra-based means, as chakra flowing through the web adds to its overall stickiness. It is used to snag and haul enemies away, or latching onto a surface to swing oneself. Single strands can also be created to attach to projectiles, acting in place of wire to control the trajectory of flying blades.
KUMO SŌKEI [SPIDER WEB AREA] D-RANK || NINJUTSU || HIDEN || MID-LONG RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
Threads made of webbing are created from the user's fingertips, and spread across a vast area of thirty meters. These threads are incredibly thin, nearly invisible, but just as strong as steel wire. The threads are strung in such a way to not hinder the movements of those within this area, but so that they will vibrate and shiver if something disturbs the area round them. What results is a method of sensing movement in an area, namely one's camp, giving the user instant knowledge of where and how large the intruder is.
After gathering a mass of chakra into their mouth, the user will change their saliva into a long reaching spear of steel-like hardness. one that extends with untimely quickness. The spear may reach ten meters in at its longest, and can potentially stake into solid stone without hinder. While deadly if it strikes a target in a vulnerable spot, and capable of breaking through strong natural defenses, its great length is a strain to keep level after being created, leaving the user slightly vulnerable if it were to miss the target. If removed from one's mouth, the spear can be used as one normally would use such a weapon, as it retains its hardness even after being split from their mouth.
KUMO SŌKA [SPIDER WEB FLOWER] C-RANK || NINJUTSU || HIDEN || SHORT-MID RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
Nets of webbing made from the user's saliva will be spat with profound accuracy as far as fifteen meters, each possessing enough tensile strength and adhesiveness to bind even some of the strongest shinobi. While one can rip through the steel-wire-like threads binding them, a dual layer of nets can pin the target to another object, preventing them from even straining against the webbing. Thus, the more nets covering the target, the harder it becomes to remove.
KUMO MAYU [SPIDER COCOON] C-RANK || NINJUTSU || HIDEN || SHORT RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
After either making physical contact with the target, or by binding them to chakra-enriched webbing that is connected to the user, a surge of chakra is sent toward the afflicted. This surge encourages webbing to cake itself around the target's body, forming a thick cocoon of durable webbing. Physical exertion is out of the option considering the target is coated head-to-toe in the substance, leaving chakra-based attacks to break away or tear through the webbing.
NENKIN NO YOROI [ARMOR OF STICKY GOLD] B-RANK || NINJUTSU || HIDEN || SHORT RANGE || DEFENSIVE
Chakra is fluxed into one's pores, influencing the user to produce a great amount of sweat. This chakra also works to convert the fluid into the steel-hard gold metal that the clan is known for. The metal, now coating the user's body completely, acts not only as a physical shield to normal attacks, but as an insulator for chakra-based attacks that wish to move through it; heat and electricity made from chakra will fail to move through the armor. The fault of this technique lies in its hardness, as while the shield may be full body, it restricts the movement of joints if they remain covered by the metal. This can only be resolved by releasing the technique, in which the metal crumbles off.
KUMO SHIBARI [SPIDER BIND] B-RANK || NINJUTSU || HIDEN || SHORT RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
A widespread net of webbing, roughly ten meters in radius, is spread across the area. This can be placed on the ground, or in between high reaching structures to create something more akin to a spiderweb. The chakra running through each thread works to add great adherence to the bind created by those who touch its makeup, its strength measuring up to steel in terms of strength. It's said the more one struggles against the technique, the greater number of strands that will bind to their body. Chakra-based attacks or steel-breaking force must be applied to remove oneself from the webbing.
KUMO KINKEN [SPIDER GOLD STING] A-RANK || NINJUTSU || HIDEN || SHORT RANGE || OFFENSIVE
As one of the deadliest techniques in the Hyagumo clan's arsenal, it is one saved for when the opponent is especially resilient to their normal attacks. After biting the target deep enough to draw blood, mixing saliva into the target's bloodstream, the user will also inject chakra into the mixing fluids. This chakra will change the saliva in the target's blood into the infamous golden metal, the process poisoning the afflicted's body by causing immense pain and numbness of the muscles. The metal must be removed within three days, or else the metal will collect in the target's heart and cause hemorrhages deep enough to stop its beat. Given that the target is incapacitated all the while, removing this poison by oneself is practically impossible by conventional means.
KUMOSŌKAI [SPIDER WEB UNROLLING] A-RANK || NINJUTSU || HIDEN || SHORT-MID RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
This is an advanced form of the Spider Bind ninjutsu, one that has greater range and bears a stronger binding ability. The net spreads as far as twenty meters in radius, and is strong enough that one may say a single strand could be pulled by elephants on both ends and still wont break. Overall, this makes physically breaking this net nearly impossible outside of the strongest of forces. Its enriched chakra-saturation is also greater than the parent technique, requiring either equally powerful techniques or surgically precise injections of chakra in order to do any damage to its makeup. It's said that anyone who gets caught in the technique has little to no chance of ever escaping, especially when combined with a technique such as Spider Cocoon.
