After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.

Kazuna stretched her shoulders as she walked downstairs. The plan was to go out into her family's small little complex and do some physical training. It was a 'sunny' day for Amegakure, meaning it was not raining, only lightly misting with a bit of interspersed drizzling. A good day where it'd be cool day. "Darling," came a voice from behind her. Kazuna raised her head, seeing her mother poking her head out from the kitchen. "Could you be a dear and grab some of the things we need in the house? I already put the list in your pack." Kazuna nodded. She couldn't exactly say no to her own mother, and she was fine with picking up some things. It just delayed her intention to train. Especially since she was planning to do it quickly and return to get it out of the way.
Grabbing the pack as she finished putting her shoes on, she stepped outside, withdrawing the list. It was... groceries mostly. A lot of them. Her mother had left enough money in the pack to pay for them all too. Well it would be a diversion, and the day was nice enough most of the larger more water-proof stalls would probably have people in them, so she began her trek. The first few stops were easy enough and the pack was quickly gaining weight over her shoulders as she added more things into it.
Of course her mind wandered a bit as she thought, debating between two oranges, wondering which had the higher quality. While wondering she let her thoughts drift a bit, and her awareness of her surroundings faded. Eventually deciding on the one in her right hand, she tossed a coin to the merchant to pay for it, quickly pivoted... and bonked her head right into someone's chest. Even worse, as she stepped back to regain her balance and see who she'd run into to apologize to them, her foot landed on a banana peel on top of a small, slick puddle of water on the street. Needless to say her unstable upright stance did not remain upright for long and she landed on her butt, her eyes clenched and rubbing her forehead to ease the pain. "Sorry," she called up preemptively, before easing an eye open.

Notes go here wheee and you can get as long or as short as you want because it doesn't matter. And do you wanna know why that is? Is it because you think this scrolls? Well you'd be right. It does scroll. Pat yourself on the back my good man. You are smart. Smart little man.
Ever since Seiya had come to stay with him, Kaede had begun to realize that there were lots of tasty things to eat that weren’t ramen and ice cream. Thus, when he went grocery shopping (Seiya had been asleep when he left, and he hadn’t woken her up), he decided to explore the fresh product stalls that lined the streets of Ame’s market. He had found all sorts of delicacies, like fresh bread and ripe tomatoes and fruits he had never even seen. Some of which he didn’t intend to eat, being that they were rather spiky and looked dangerous.
He went to browse more normal-looking fruits like oranges and stuff, and picked up a package of strawberries. There was whipped cream somewhere in his fridge (the reason it was there was kind of a long story), and he figured he could find some sort of cake to put the strawberries and cream over. That was a nice, actual dessert, wasn’t it? It was better than eating ice cream out of the carton. Arguably.
And then someone ran smack dab into the boobs he still couldn’t bind because his ribs were assholes, and fell right on their butt. He looked down at the girl, studying her for a moment before recognizing her. This was the girl that he’d… picked up after she’d fallen on her butt while training. Well. Some things didn’t change, did they?
He knelt down and offered her his hand. “Hey, Kazuna-chan. Need a hand?”
rawr. i cannot wait to teach all of my adorable little girl students things. let's all chill at my house and have strawberries guys.

Some pit in Kazuna's stomach sank a little bit when she realized that she recognized who she had run into. "Oh, Kaede-san. I'm sorry I didn't see you there." She almost could have slapped her face with her palm. Of course she didn't see Kaede there. Because if she had, she wouldn't be flat on her ass right now. An unholy matrimony of embarrassment and self-irritation, but that was nothing new. Still it was leaving a bad taste in her mouth and she took Kaede's hand to resume her position standing. "I'm sorry for bashing myself into you," she said. She handn't noticed anything peculiar yet about the impact, but she was also doing her best to avoid direct eye contact either.
This was now the second time Kaede had encountered her with her having slipped or fallen, the first being a time when she'd been training herself in the rain. Last time had been an unfortunate blend of miscalculation and poor footing. This time had been just carelessness. Or had it. As Kazuna looked at the ground around her, she came to realize that it wasn't simple carelessness. It was also just plain bad luck. Crouching she picked up the banana peel and stared at it with a degree of incredulity. A banana peel? Really? Ordinarily she didn't really like the thought of luck, but there... there was simply no other possibility. A banana peel, conveniently abandoned in a slick puddle of water behind her feet. If she didn't know better she'd say someone was after her. She sighed, and searched through her pack, relieved to see that none of the food she'd had to pick up this far was bruised or smashed. She'd apparently at least had that much grace while she was falling.
The orange... hadn't been so lucky, and she watched it roll down the street where a stray dog, perhaps mistaking it for a tennis ball, picked it up and ran off with it. "Are you freaking kidding me?" she muttered under her breath. This was just... what the hell was this?

"Hey, it happens. No big deal." Kaede offered her a crooked smile and ruffled her hair. Poor kid seemed to be the butt of life's joke whenever he saw her; this was definitely the first time he'd seen someone actually slip on a banana peel in real life rather than in slapstick comedy. It almost made him want to laugh, if not for the fact that that would've been incredibly rude.
Noticing the orange rolling off, Kaede turned back to the fruit he'd been observing before Kazuna had run right into him, and selected a large, juicy piece of the citrus fruit. "Here." He offered it to the girl, a hopeful smile on his face.
