After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
The Kubinashi are a clan of almost complete strangers, strung together only by a last name of only tenous ties, and a bloodline that is misfortune rather then good. The children of the Kubinashi clan do not take pride in their bloodline, that much is obvious. In fact, precious few of them even manage to awaken the dreaded bloodline. However, no matter their differences, from pale to dark skin, from red to black hair, and different coloured eyes, those that actually hold the bloodline have one major identifable trait. And it's very simple.
They have no neck. Those that have awakened the calling of their blood have either no neck at all, or a removable fake neck. This is generally represented by a covered neck and mouth, or maybe even a stitched look on their necks. In fact, some of the more confident Kubinashi will actually carry their heads around, making it much more obvious which clan they are a part of. This lack of a neck is usually the only idicator that one would be a part of this strange clan. Some of the clan members find absolutely creative ways in which to hide their missing neck, which may make them look a bit more identifiable.
Another thing to note is that a great number of the clan, bloodline or not, find themselves in the medical profession. There are those that do not fall into these categories, but the clan itself seems to have a natural affinity for being medical ninjas, and even if they're lacking chakra, they just seem to take in a profound medical knowledge and thus are present in any medical field. So tie in those two things... and you have a weird set of finding tools for these guys and gals.
requirements: If you want the bloodline, path of mind cannot be your weakest, since you need medical. if not, pick whatever you want, but the clan is more formative to medical training. out of every 4 makeable characters, only 1 can be scattered. If the scattered is taken, you're out of luck. Character's fc is not restricted by any hair, skin tone, or even body shape, but requires one thing if you have the bloodline. To have your head being able to come off. Such as Ms.Fortune from skullgirls, or Celty from durarara!!. If you need help pm me.
The Gifts of the Blood

The Kubinashi bloodline, although undesirable, is high functional to a large amount of people. In a general sense, it provides the holder with a sense of lasting, cheating death in a strange way due to old experiements that turned their lifes into a genetic quirk roulette. Needless to say, the bloodline itself, although nameless or simply refered to as a cursed capability, is very rare even within the members of the clan. As such, it's almost as if the clan has two bloodlines: one, a line of techniques passed down through all members of the clans, not necessarily tying into the actual bloodline but ties into it's perks and their bloods, and then the actual capability itself.
At the core of it, the Kubinashi Bloodline in it's full capacity is known as 騙しの首無 or rather as the Damashi no Kubinashi 'The Headless Cheating'. The general bloodline is simple in nature and structure, as it strengthens the skull and solidity of the head in general, making it harder to damage clan members with a bat to the head. However, this is also a bad thing for those without the second part, as their neck actually becomes weaker and more pliable. It can be flexible yes, but it is also much more easily prone to injuries or pain, making it more simple to simply snap the necks of a non-full bloodline Kubinashi clan member.
Also, what's in general to their blood, is a great medical ability. Of understanding and searching for medical problems is a skill intuitive to all Kubinashi clan member. Even if their chakra cannot focus on this path, they can still do non-chakra based medical matters. In general, about 95% of the clan is oriented towards the medical business in some shape or another, finding themselves more geared towards any aspect due to their long experiemental past. This includes a few more secret clan techniques passed down through the family, many medical in nature but some actually considerable for general use to others. Some of these techniques are secret and require full permissions to pass on, but some are not and can be taught to anyone interested. In fact, the clan is also known for it's capability of understanding the limbs and the nerve systems, and not only reproducing parts that can act nearly perfectly like an actual limb, but depending on how fresh, even restore a limb. Although those are more high class skills for most.
But this isn't even the meat of the pie. After all, there is the actual part of the bloodline, known as 死の首無騙し, or rather Shi no Kubinashi Damashi 'Cheating of the Headless Death'. Basically, this is a bloodline trait that comes in dealing with the neck. A child with this blood line trait will, one day, simply have their head fall off their shoulders. Most cannot catch it in time, which is thankfully okay due to the strengthening of the skull, but it's still rather shocking to have your vision just suddenly blur and drop. Once this is done, the child's parents will add a pair of fuuinjutsu to the bottom of the head and where the neck should be. These fuuinjutsu are included within the jutsu and are added compulsively to the clan member.
If the fuuinjutsu are not added, the child dies within a couple of hours, due to the separation of head from body. However, the unique fuuinjutsu developed for this bloodline allows one to, simply have their heads separated from their bodies, allowing them to go as far as using their own head as a weapon. This part of the bloodline is thought of as cursed, however it can be quite interesting as the binding fuuinjutsu are even invisible to most except for someone that knows what to look for. This clan is rather known for being beheaded and walking away from it without a scratch, and quite often, it seems to scare the opponent as they cannot use the neck as a vital attack point any longer.
It's also quite disturbing to have a head thrown at you and the body still moving or the head even in mid sentence, which is what those that end up afflicted with this bloodline end up building their legacies on.
The Story that Brought them Here

The Kubinashi clan. No one is quite sure when they started to appear. It just seems like legends and myths speak of this clan before their name even came together. It is said that they take their home grounds in the dark places of Akumu no Kuni. That they were the result of twisted, needy experiements to cheat death. Whatever the legend is, the clan itself is tight-lipped, only the clan elders know. And even then, they don't know everything, those are records only for the chief. So it's really unknown to all of the members of the clan, the secret like a locked box, tight in the shades of the past. But the whole clan have knowledge of one very important thing about their mysterious past.
That the only village that accepted them was Amegakure no Sato. The clan found themselves nearly living on the outskirts at first, but slowly, some of their clan members moved out of their small outside compound into actually helping their community. Providing medical assistance with their knowledge, and slowly, a few of them ventured into the shinobi forces. However, they never sent one of their cursed children into the lines of battle. They didn't want to lose their guardians, and actually had a fear of the village hating them. So they kept the harder parts of things to themselves, hiding parts of them that would help protect or so they thought. Until one day, one of those children had enough, and snuck out of the clan's compound, and settled into the village.
The clan didn't seem to keep track of them very well, shoving them into one part of the compound, and leaving them to their own devices. This child decided that they would learn to live life as a shinobi, and move forward their clan, no longer holding them back to their fear. And as such, they kept their neck hidden as much as possible, and they had a successful career. This inspired others, and slowly, the clan members of the Kubinashi were making steps into the shinobi world. Their legend was known, but not their name, and slowly, they were making their own name as medical ninjas. Their secret lived for a few generations, until about twenty-five years ago.
One of the shinobi, in a bid to save their teammate's life, ripped their head off and sent it to intercept the enemy kunai with their teeth. They saved their teammate, but exposed the clan's secret to the village. Even know, the secret is not necessarily well known, but most of the village know that something is odd with the Kubinashi clan at the least. And the children now have to deal with this, the non-full bloodline users slowly starting to resent the threatened safety they have achieved. It seems possible a clan civil war is on the horizon, depending on how the village recieves the clan's less then sparkling members in their opinion. But the full-blooded clan members are glad to not have to hide as excessively now, some even taking it to the extreme degree of not caring.
