After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
While many illusions rely on their ability to induce ideas, emotions, or confusion in their targets, there exist shinobi whose minds are honed to withstand such mental obstacles, making the use of these techniques obsolete against such individuals. To compensate, however, many illusionists take to the use of Genjutsu in its rawest of forms: the direct manipulation of the enemy’s senses. A consciousness may be trained to remain vigilant within dark mirages, but no matter how skilled one is, their perceptive abilities are always at the control of Genjutsu. Below are such techniques that follow this caliber of illusions.
MAGEN: KANISHIDŌ NO JUTSU [DEMONIC ILLUSION: PETRIFYING PATH TECHNIQUE] D-RANK || GENJUTSU || SHORT-MID RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
Upon witnessing the user form a hand seal specific to this technique, the illusion's victims will begin to feel a burdening weight being instilled into their limbs and back. This feeling of weight does little to slow the target's movements at first, though it appears that the more the afflicted exerts his or herself physically, the greater this added mass affect them. Thus, unless one moves with patient grace across the battlefield, their bodies will feel heavier and heavier until they are forced to their knees. As a simple illusion, such a technique can be broken by common use of Genjutsu Kai.
MAGEN: KOSODOMI NO JUTSU [DEMONIC ILLUSION: SUBTLE FALTER DANCE TECHNIQUE] C-RANK || GENJUTSU || MID-LONG RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
The user will trigger the activation of this technique with the specific phrase "Mido soko da," a rough and rather confusing way to say "You're beneath me." Upon hearing this specific phrase, the user's chakra will work to disrupt the flow of chakra moving through the afflicted's inner ears, cutting off physical sensation with the balance-determining bones within. Without this subtle sensation, the target will be without a sense of levelness, thus making running, walking, or even standing practically impossible. While this may only affect a small part of the enemy's body, it makes for a promising display of just how important the sense of touch is for living creature. It is not a very difficult technique to break through Genjutsu Kai, though recognizing their loss of balance as the result of an illusion is not easily done by those unskilled in its use. However, the technique does possess an obvious tell to those who know it; the illusion's trigger is more or less the reversal of the technique's name's kanji.
MAGEN: GOKAZAN NO JUTSU [DEMONIC ILLUSION: FIVE SENSES ERUPTION TECHNIQUE] B-RANK || GENJUTSU || SHORT RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
By making contact with the enemy with just two fingers, no more and no less, the user's chakra will overflow throughout the target's body upon them feeling the sensation, activating the illusion. As long as contact remains, all five of the afflicted's senses will be overstimulated to the point of overclocking the target's perceptive abilities. This leads the target into a mind-blanked state of disorientation, one that can eventually lead to unconsciousness if held out for over ten seconds. This two-point means of contact is not only the illusion's trigger, but its means of maintenance, as it must be removed in order to truly break the illusion's hold on its target. However, even when active for only a moment's time, most enemies will have their trains of thought derailed, leaving them unprepared for what could be a potentially devastating follow up attack. Defending against the technique is not easy, as even with the use of great pain and Genjutsu Kai, the persistent physical contact poses a consistent issue.
MAGEN: SEKENAKOI NO JUTSU [DEMONIC ILLUSION: WORLD WITHOUT LOVE TECHNIQUE] A-RANK || GENJUTSU || MID-LONG RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
Three words are all that must be heard by the afflicted in order to be triggered into the illusion: "Endure no more." Upon perceiving these words, the user's chakra will have disrupted the listener's entire sense of touch, resulting in a sudden and full-bodied numbness of the afflicted before they collapse. This disconnect with their body is essentially a form of near complete paralysis, as the lack of responsive stimuli to their actions leads to movements that are minute, spastic, and uncoordinated. One can do little more than writhe on the ground while affected by the technique as far as physical movements are concerned. The technique prides itself on its strength in subduing multiple enemies at once, as either an excruciating amount of pain or a mass release of chakra via Genjutsu Kai are necessary in order to relieve oneself of the illusion's effects. However, given that movement is difficult, the former is a least likely solution to remedying an afflicted target of their incapcitating condition.
MAGEN: JIGOKASEKA NO JUTSU [DEMONIC ILLUSION: HELL CULT CHANTING TECHNIQUE] S-RANK || GENJUTSU || MID-LONG RANGE || SUPPLEMENTARY
This is a technique in which one must consistently retain the chanting of age-old scriptures in order to not only trigger its illusion, but maintain it as well. Targeted enemies within hearing range of the chant will experience an overwhelming sensation that attacks all five of one's senses, acting as a form of disorientation in both the actions and the thought process of all those affected. Such a chant effectively halts both the actions and the plans of anyone caught within the illusion, though only as long as the user can keep the technique going. Stopping for a second, or a single change of tone, is enough to free one's enemies from the illusion's spell. On top of this, its use over a wide range is incredibly draining on its user, as one may run out of stamina before they ever slip up in their vocal harmony. Given the sheer level of control required to maintain the illusion's wide-spread effects, the user is limited in what actions they may perform while it is in use; other techniques are out of the question, as is extensive movement, leaving throwing projectiles as the only true alternative. As such, the user is typically indisposed while the technique is in use, leaving the attacking of the stunned targets in the hands of one's allies. The only true defense to this technique while it is active, if one is designated a target of its effects, is to eliminate one's ability to hear the harmonious chanting. Otherwise, causing the user harm or forcing them to dodge is enough to break the illusion's spell temporarily.
