After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.
Blue was once a common haircolor to those of the Origami clan, but now it can feature any color under the sun. The only characteristic members of this clan share mutually is that they all usually have some sort of charm of folded paper—a crane, a flower, anything really—that is kept on their person, usually in the hair. The charm is held together by the Origami member's chakra; if they use up to much, it will fall apart and fall off.
background
No one is quite sure where the Origami clan made its humble beginnings. Its first known user was an orphan hailing from the village of Amegakure, many centuries ago. Since then, many other users had cropped up, having previously been frightened of revealing themselves. Who would like a person made of paper? But it turned to be a valuable skill, and those who had it banded together. These people realized they shared more similarities than just their jutsu... they shared a lot of physical appearances. In some way or form, they were related. They were the children of the lost clan Origami.
Collectively, they made their own, unsure of their origins, but building a kinship on their similarities. The clan steadily grew larger as the years went on, the members mastering the shikigami no mai. Some 200 years after the clan had founded themselves properly as a family of Amegakure, they had grown very large. Some wanted to branch out, to explore. So the clan split; people who wanted to leave, and people who didn't.
The migrating half of the clan eventually crossed the desert, arriving at Sunagakure. The drier climate seemed fitting to make best use of their paper jutsu, where the rain wouldn't constantly soak them. It took many years of hostility and frustration, but, eventually the people of Sunagakure began to accept the Origami clan as one of their own.
Today, the Origami clan lives humbly within both Sunagakure and Amegakure, and while messages between the two can be sent, they are always intercepted by village affairs to ensure no secrets are leaked.
legacy of power
Shikigami no Mai
Those of the Origami clan can turn their bodies into thousands of sheets of paper, of which they can control at will and form into any shape or color. To travel long distances, an Origami can fold them into butterflies or planes for powered flight; and to attack, they can fold the sheets to the point that it is as hard as steel. They can be folded into arrows, spears, shuriken, and more. The Origami can restrain opponents by blanketing them in sheets, this restricting their movement and potentially asphyxiating them. More powerful members are capable of forming large paper wings to fly. However, even those of chuunin level are capable of merely hovering when they are in a partial-paper state. Paper techniques can be further enhanced by slipping paper bombs into the construction of paper-form attacks.
While individually, the paper is susceptible to flame, if the Origami member uses a paper attack to defend themselves from fire by giving the fire a target to burn and then dissipating the sheets to break it apart and fall to the ground. The user is susceptible to oil-based attacks, or other equally gooey ones, that prevent the paper of their body from unfolding. The paper can also absorb water and become heavier which can be hampering, it can also help the Origami. By being soaked in water, the Origami will not be burned even by direct contact with flames. That is, until the heat of the flame dries the moisture from their paper.
Origami members are capable of producing paper, not just split their body into it. How much paper a user can make is dependent on their chakra reserves, but some Origami clan members are capable of crafting and mimicking environmental surroundings for camouflage and shelter. This also allows the Origami and those they choose to have a place to hide where one normally couldn't.

Kami Guraidā [Paper Glider] E || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || All || Supplementary
Taking a sheet of their paper, the user can fold it into a bird or a butterfly. The butterfly or bird then flies away, headed towards the target it was sent to or floating aimlessly until the chakra that animates it is used up. This technique is useful for delivering messages written on the paper.
The user will pour their chakra into sheets of paper, hardening and sharpening it so that it can be used as a shuriken. Its sharpness is equal to that of a shuriken made of metal. The user can further increase the power of the shuriken by making it different shapes, including more similar to a kunai. These are rather ineffective when wet, however the user can coat the paper in oil to combat that.
C RANK
Kami Bunshin [Paper Clone] C || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || Close || Supplementary
By creating and manipulating paper, the user will manipulate their chakra into it so they can shape it into a perfect replica of themselves. This clone is somewhat like a puppet and can be controlled even remotely. When the clone is hit or disperses, it collapses back into sheets of paper. Explosive tags can be hidden within the papers.
Kami no Yari [Paper Spear] C || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || Close || Offensive
Using paper created from their arm and hand, the user will create a weapon. This weapon is either a stabbing or a slashing weapon, such as a spear or sword, and the paper can be hardened to the density of steel and just as sharp. This technique can only survive a few minutes in the rain.
B RANK
Shikigami no Mai [Dance of the Shikigami] B || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || Close || Supplementary
The user will focus chakra within their entire body, and turn it into thousands of sheets of paper. This can apply to the entire body, or merely body parts, and can also multiply sheets of paper from the body. The paper can then be used for other jutsu or utilities.
A RANK
Kami no Chakuramu [Paper Chakram] A || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || All || Offensive
The user combines a large quantity of paper sheets into a large, single chakram-like shape. A chakram is a circular bladed weapon. This paper chakram is thrown at the intended target. While in fight, the disk spins with tremendous speed and its trajectory and inclination can be freely manipulated by the user. This presents opportunities to attack the enemy from all angles, even if the disc is intially avoided. The disc spins so fast that a collision with one results in considerable impact.
Kami Tsubasa [Paper Wings] A || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || Close || Defensive/Supplementary
The user will sprout massive wings of paper, each one twice the length of their own body. This wings give the user the ability to fly powerfully and quickly, with high maneuverability. The wings can also be wrapped around the user as a defensive shield, but only while not in flight. The wings are heavy, so it is not recommended to leave the jutsu active when not in flight, however.
S RANK
Kami no Kaiyō Gijutsu [Paper Ocean Technique] S || Hiden Ninjutsu || N/A || All || Offensive
The user ses an innumberable amount of small paper sheets to infuse into a malleable substance such as water, mud or sand, underneath the target. The paper ocean will then split in half underneath the target, resulting in the rapid creation of a huge abyss beneath the lake or ground. With a sudden lack of availability in a foothold, the target inevitably descends ever-deeper into the depths of the chasm. In order to enhance the attacks and limit potential forms of retaliation, the user can inbue tens of thousands of paper bombs preparefd beforehand into the normal paper, causing non-stop explosions over the course of a few minutes. The explosive tags hidden within the normal paper can be manipulated and directed towards the target as they fall.
