After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War ended, the world was experiencing a time of peace. The villages for once were able to live in relative harmony with one another as they rebuilt, and for once, all seemed to be well. The kage were able to live peaceful lives and soon began retiring, passing on the baton to the next generations. That is until an unknown virus infects the northern coast. The first to fall is the once powerful Raikage, Ay. While many thought this virus was a simple mutation of what may have well been the flu, no one would ever think of the destruction it would cause. Especially when it infected a certain Uzumaki Naruto.
With his death came the malice; with the malice came the destruction; with the destruction came the shinobi' revolt; and with the revolt came the sacrifices. The Bijuu became filled with malice that they sought to destroy the world. Shinobi sought a way to fight them and once again capture each of the Bijuu. Time passed, and a plan was devised. The Jinchuuriki would be sacrificed for the greater good of the world, and with the deaths of nine individuals, an uneasy peace began.
As time continued, the villages began to truly restructure. In a peace that would last 80 years after the downfall of the Bijuu, the world would see the creation of a great many things. Technology was beginning to take root and before long the blossoms that grew from the tree of the advanced mind would bear fruit. A many great things came to be. A railroad between the vast many nations. Mechanical limbs to replace lost ones. Radios that could reach between villages. Everything seemed to be becoming less reliant on the shinobi. Only the need for them never truly vanished. As with the growth of time, also continued the growth of malice.

It was another boring day in this rather hot and boring village, well that was the thought of one small little boy as he walked down the streets with some money jingling in his pocket. He had been sent on an errand by his mother to go and collect some meat for dinner tonight. It was one that he had done many times before so finding his way over to the butcher's in the marketplace was easy enough, they were lucky that part of Suna extended into land fertile enough to raise livestock despite how little it might be compared to others. At least it was probably better than their stinky cows and pigs.
"Two pounds of beef please." the short little boy said as he placed the money on the counter while on his tip toes. The Butcher smiled and told him to wait while he prepared it so the little Origami boy did just that by leaning right outside of the man's stall and watched the people of Suna walk past him.
“The itsy bitsy spiiiideeerrr went out to buy some beef~” Kimiko sing-songed quietly to herself, viridian eyes locked on her quarry. “The itsy bitsy spiiiideeerrr's too short to reach the meat~”
Okay, the woman would admit she didn't have the best rhyming sense, but hey. As long as she enjoyed it. Passersby met her with respectful greetings; by now it was white noise and her conditioned response was “good day.” As the child talked to the vendor of the meat stand, the kage stealthily melted into the crowd, materializing around the corner of the stall as he turned to watch the crowd and wait. She held up her finger to indicate silence to the butcher, standing quietly to observe behind him. After a few minutes, she spotted a sprightly little blonde kunoichi about the same age as the boy in front of her. Bending at the waist, Kimiko leaned over his shoulder, pointing over the other one towards the girl.
“That one's pretty cute,” she said into her nephew's ear with a curve in her lips, “You should talk to her.”

As his eyes watched the faces go by he tried to look at each and every one, some of them familiar and some of them not so very much. He waved to some of the fellow genin that did go past him and as he was waving to a blonde girl a chill went up his spine as he heard that oh so familiar voice speak to him, telling him that he should go and talk to her. Was she seriously trying to give him dating advice? "Auntie I told you I don't want to look for a girlfriend right now. I'm too busy with training." Seriously if she wanted to watch young love happen couldn't she have her own kid and stalk it and stuff instead of picking on him?
"Auntie I told you I don't want to look for a girlfriend right now. I'm too busy with training."
Kimiko's eyes narrowed with a pout. Hikari was no fun sometimes. Didn't stop her from trying, though~
“How about a boyfriend, then?” she said, scanning the crowd. She spotted a young raven-headed boy who looked to be only a little bit older. “Aha! How about him? He looks like quite the charmer.”
It was clear her little nephew was not amused. Fine, fine, be that way.
“Since you mentioned it, I was looking for you. You've been working on your paper skills, haven't you~? I thought maybe it was time I helped you out a bit.” Shedding a page from her shoulder, Kimiko folded it into a butterfly that took flight and fluttered around in front of the boy. “Whadd'ya say, kiddo?” Jutsu Used: Kami Guraidā [Paper Glider]

The boy's eyes went wide, not with surprise or fear but anger. She was really trying to drive this into him wasn't she? Who did she think he was some blonde ocean eyed slut puppy? Besides, boys just didn't do it for him really, at this age it was more about who could do the coolest jutsus rather than sword fight with each other. "No thanks auntie, boys don't really like me anyway."
He blinked as he saw the paper butterfly fly around him and with a nod he shed some paper off of his hand and it folded together into a butterfly to flutter around with the other. "I have Auntie. And yeah I could use some more training, something feels a little bit off when I use those Jutsus..." He said as he remembered his bad day with the paper shuriken training he did.
"I have Auntie. And yeah I could use some more training, something feels a little bit off when I use those Jutsus..."
The Kage ruffled his hair.
“Just takes practice, that's all. You'll learn how to use your paper. It took me a while, too.”
Bringing both butterflies to her hand, both papers refolded into sharp kunai. Floating them over her nephew's head, she threw them, where they embedded into a wooden pole as if they were made of steel.
“Once you figure out how to do that much, there's a lot you can do with your paper. Finish your errand and we can go to a more open place. I can show you some nifty tricks.” Jutsu Used: Kami Shuriken [Paper Shuriken]

He had to admit, while she could be a nuisance sometimes it was always a pleasure to see Aunt Kimiko in action, not only did she make a butterfly into a deadly surprise she also managed to use his as well. "Alright Auntie, oh speak of the Biju," His meat was done and ready so the boy went up and held out his hand for the butcher to hand him the bagged chopped goods, after saying his thanks the boy walked back over to his aunt and set down the meat on his feet so it wouldn't get dirty.
"Just one thing, mom wants this meat right away so..." As he made a handsign paper began to peel off of his back and form into an exact replica of the young boy who picked up the meat and ran back home to tell his folks what he would be doing for the rest of the day. "Okay now we can go." The boy happily said as he grabbed the Kazekage's hand and looked up to her with a more happy expression on his face.
Kimiko smiled in amusement, watching the child retrieve his meat.
"Just one thing, mom wants this meat right away so..."
“Go ahead, kiddo.”
She watched as he sent off a clone with the meat.
"Okay now we can go."
When the little boy grabbed her hand and smiled, Kimiko all but melted. This kid was so cute and she dropped to squeeze him. One of these days she needed to have kids of her own. But until then, her nephew would have to do. Releasing him, she guided him away to a clear open area. She had lots of things she could teach him, but until now she'd only focused on the basics, as not only was Hikari her nephew, but he was also one of her students.
Once in the open area—an unused lot—Kimiko performed handsigns and raised a wall of earth for the boy to use as a target.
“Show me what you got, and we'll branch from there.”

As the two of them came to an empty lot Hikari watched as his aunt let go of his hand and made a wall of earth for him to practice on, something she would always do to make sure he could hit a target that was right in front of him he guessed. "Well alright auntie."
He acknowledged his mentor's request and let four slips of paper shed from his arms as he made the hand seals for his paper shuriken jutsu and the slips folded into shuriken and hovered around Hikari before launching at the wall, making a sort of misshapen square. "Um...that's good, right?"
Kimiko examined her student's handiwork, plucking one of the shuriken from the wall to inspect it. Nice and solid. Could use to be a bit sharper, but he was young; practice makes perfect.

"Mm, well I think my accuracy is a little lacking. I've had some help from a nice Chuunin lady but...Sometimes I...I dunno maybe I'm over thinking it?" Lately he had been suffering some self esteem issues, and it seemed to be really throwing him off of his game. Perhaps he was just letting everything get to him and cloud his concentration.
Kimiko hummed, regarding Hikari like he was a bunny learning to hop. It'll come to him. Peeling a few pages herself, Kimiko formed a kunai, carving a circle in the earthen wall roughly the size of a basketball. Unfolding the kunai, the sheets returned from whence they came.
“Then let's practice your aim,” she said, positioning herself behind the young boy so she could watch how he threw. “Make six shuriken, and aim them all inside that circle.” Jutsu used: Kami no Yari [Paper Spear]

Watching his aunt carve solid earth with a kunai made of paper was...well it was one heck of a sight. His sharp paper tools could pierce into rock but carving it up? He lost a lot more paper than he should have when he did something like that. Focusing his mind back onto the request his aunt gave him he focused his mind and let the slips of paper fall from his arm and form into shuriken. His eyes trained on the circle as he launched his shuriken at them. Each of them hit the inside of the circle, well most did, two did hit right in the lines that made the circle. "Um...four out of six is pretty good...right Auntie?
Kimiko waited expectantly for Hikari to do as she asked, observing as the shuriken he formed embedded into the earth, only four of the six hitting the target, two somehow hitting the lines that drew the target.
"Um...four out of six is pretty good...right Auntie?
She hummed, tapping the wall with her palm.
“Try again, kiddo. Six more, as close to the middle of the circle as you can.”
She pried a few of his shuriken loose, placing them on top of her wall. It wasn't as if it had been exceptionally tall. Jealous of my paperfolding skills, I see. *sage nod* It's only natural.

He nodded as more paper shed from his arms, forming six more shuriken. This time instead of focusing so hard on just the spot he was going to let instincts take over and just imagine the shuriken hitting their mark. A little childish yes but it was something he's never really tried before, plus he was still a child himself, perhaps it would work because of his age and inexperience? He had the image of all six of them in the circle in his mind as his shuriken flew. This time all six of them were in the circle, only half close to the center but at least they were all in. "Wow... I did it!"
